Happy both platforms are equal now, but neither should be able to do this

I'm sure if it becomes a problem they'll balance it accordingly. Having a consistent, intended baseline to work with now is wonderful news.

100% agree. The counterplay to his dash is to get on the other side of a wall but with the 180 it made the counterplay obsolete. They did try to remove it during the ptb and the backlash was crazy so I guess it’s either everyone gets it or no one gets it (community prefers the former lol)

Well I can't say I agree with 180s being intended, but at least everyone's on equal footing now, that is good.

Finally! Now they only need to add moonwalking and text chat to consoles!
1 -
Wait, didn't they initially decided to remove it outright?

It was a “bug” in the ptb (we all know they purposely tried to remove it) but the backlash was so strong that they reverted it and gave controller players a sprinkle of it as well

I'm curious to hear from any MnK Oni players: Does the new intentional 180 feel different compared to the old? Specifically, do you turn slower than before or the same speed?

The main reason people were upset about Oni flicks was because it was pc exclusive. Now that console can do them there's not much of an argument. If people think its too strong, they should adapt to it, 180 flicks were frustrating because you didn't know if the Oni you were playing against was on pc or not, which made him inconsistent.

It is extremely easier to do 180s on mouse and keyboard now, because it looks like mouse DPI got capped, and the new turn cap is exactly 180 degrees. Before, the turn cap went way beyond 180, which meant it was easy to accidently go over 180 degrees.
HOWEVER, it looks like the new 180s are a nerf, because the turning speed is now capped, and it feels slower to reach 180 degrees now.

That's what I've been told elsewhere, and I noticed it looked like how the controller turn works when people were messing with it on the PTB.
If that's the case, I'm wondering if they'll increase that static turn rate at all, or uncap it entirely later down the line.

It's unlikely the turn rate will be increased. I'm assuming this was a carefully calculated nerf, so that it gives survivors more counterplay, but…
- 180s are still in the game so it won't get too many killer complaints.
- The MnK 180s are now slow enough that people can't complain that controller players are at a large disadvantage.

I can't really foresee them completely uncapping it either, as that's probably how they fixed the bug, but turning it up a smidge isn't off the table IMO. It's pretty slow even by controller's normal camera sensitivity standards.

hell yeah!

Im upset now only because it takes away the one counterplay to Oni, getting behind a wall. And now more players can do it too, whoch means theres abt to be an Oni influx after the Ghoul's release popularity dies down

I really don't see that happening. I honestly think the goal was to nerf 360s, and now they're so bad that I'm just not playing Oni anymore.
But most people couldn't 180 consistently before this patch, so there are just too many people that don't understand how big this nerf is, so this isn't going to get enough complaints to change it.

Nah all it'll take is some content creators to make videos about it and people will start talking about it. Just give it some time.

they screwed Oni up completely now. You can't do insta or Lipy 180s anymore, hell nah you can't even do 360. Also, 180s feel so sluggish now, but idc about that, killer has been dumbed down and this was completely wrong approach to reduce the gap between PC and consoles. With these changes and his skill expression getting dumped into the water i think i will just take an indefinite break from the game.

Oni's counterplay was never about juking him in the chase...in chase you'd always pray that he will swing in the opposite direction from the one you turn to.
Counter to Oni in power is to stealth it out, while counter to Oni in general is to delay his first hit and deny him usage of power for as long as possible.
If you come to a point where you'd have to juke his power, you have already managed to allow him to snowball, no matter if player does 180s or not. What is even funnier, 180s are much more risky than actually just walking survivor down and punching them with Demon Strike

Nothing to do with platforms and more about peripherals. Mouses will always be a naturally better device than controllers for first-person games, it's just how it is.
