How to build a strong and fun killer?
The Ghoul is another example to a super fun killer to play as, but, extremetly boring and irritant killer to face against, so my question and discussion is. How to develop a strong killer but fun for BOTH sides?

Houndmaster. Thats it. By far one of the most balanced killers released in awhile. She has a mix of niche traversal and a counterable chase power that relies on both survivor and killer's skill to dodge and land grabs. Camping pallets though garuntees a dog stun, you waste pallets faster, so you can't just camp and make her power useless. Both sides suffer, and thats fair

I think he's intense to go against, a real threat without being totally OP. Any time I hear about fun killer design, I can usually read between the lines: "bully material."
There's been very fun-to-counter killers. Like pre-nerf Wraith, pre-nerf Spirit, Hag, Unknown, etc. I think survivors' refusal to play as those killers is a crucial part in why they're missing the fun-ness of that counterplay.

I feel like houndmaster misses much of the "fun to play" aspect.

The most fun killer to play against is someone survivors can loop for 5 gens like Pig

that's impossible because if it's fun for survivors a killer is low tier that gets pooped on if it's fun for killer (outside of the people who enjoy playing low tiers) they're going to be high mobility killers or killers with powers that are hard for survivors to counter so killers have a chance at higher ranks

Fun is totally subjective for each individual player. Just focus on yourself because you simply cannot make everyone happy. Chances are you'll achieve the opposite and make everyone unhappy, including yourself.

Speaking in terms of concept, sure. But the execution of Houndmaster leaves a lot to be desired IMO. She’s just too buggy to enjoy playing for me. But I get what you’re saying.

She is fun to play, shes good at countering swfs since bodyblocking isn't really an option against her. Thats my reason at least for maining her at least, but shes also one of few killers that actually take skill, plus no one else plays her, so seeing someone so good at her is a significant achievement imo

All of her gameplay bugs as of this point are resolved, she only seems to have that one laugh bug when using a search path and turning while on it. Everything had been so consistent with her as of this patch, i feel like she is the perfect killer now. P.S I want the 5 second anti-escape back, not escaping is a survivor's own fault and the current 1.5 seconds isn't even enough to down and pick up a survivor
