The Ghoul is the new SM
Even forgetting the "bugs" like his atrocious hitboxes there's nothing fun about being completely stopped and having to watch an animation and then being able to move again its so clunky and annoying. Also Dracula is now officially dethroned as the "come back to hook tunnel king"

How dare you. We nemesis players refuse to give up the throne of unprovoked tunneling

Absolutely not. SM on realese was to this date (along with OG Legion) the worst designed powers ever made into this game.
Ghoul power is not bad itself, it's just buggy and too strong atm.
8 -
Yeah, the power itself is fine, it just needs to be toned way down.
There are a number of other killers that had/have more fundamentally broken powers.

I'm yet to escape against the new killer, but only seen one person kill themself on hook straight away so nowhere near SM levels so far!

The ghoul is by far the most annoying killer in the game.
I see a lot who kill themself on hook, me too. Tired of every match the same killer.2 -
Nothing compares to OG Skull Merchant. There was absolutely nothing solo queue survivors could do against her. Without communication, beating a mediocre one was almost impossible by design. Easily the cruelest thing that the devs have ever inflicted on solo players. .

What's wrong with being munched on? Just because something plays different doesn't automatically make it horrible. The animation lock is worse for the Kaneki anyways.

Currently the killer stops the survivor dead in their tracks, interrupting any exhaustion perk they might be using, and isn't giving any "on hit" speed boost like any other attack.
The killer can also bypass the recovery cooldown apparently.
So those bugs combined means you can gain zero distance and are stunned while the killer is able to two tap you from healthy nearly instantly.
I don't necessarily think this is as much a design problem, as not working as intended (to be as fair as possible). But the bugs are absolutely an issue that needs to be fixed.

It doesn't? Like plagues sickness? I've never noticed, but that is definitely something that should be fixed. Countering exhaustion is one thing, he already counters hold W like plague counters medkits so I don't mind but if survivors aren't getting a boost after a munch that'd be a huge problem. Is this consistent?
-3 -
I don't think it's consistent, no. Nor do I think it's intended honestly. It's a bit hard to tell since there seems to be a lot wrong/bugged with the killer currently.
But if survivors aren't getting the speed boost, and the killer can traverse a huge portion of the map insanely quickly those two things together are immensely strong, to put it mildly. It feels more like unintended game play than a design decision, but it's hard to say until they acknowledge it one way or the other.

I don't think we'll ever reach the lows of hell that were those early SM days again.

Things feeling "clunky" is unfortunately what DBD was built on. Doesn't seem like that's changing any time soon, unless we miraculously get new people in charge that have the guts to do what's best for the game overall instead of living life exclusively in the comfort zone..

Skull Merchant was able to hold games hostage for an hour straight, The Ghoul is simply really powerful, they are not the same by any means.

Agreed

I've escaped 4 times. Once the killer was just not trying. Others it worked with teammates in soloq with teamwork. We all took turns looping and there was always 2 to a gen. It also helped that two of us had wiretap or blast mine. Yesterday was straight up tunneling and hook camping from across the board. I just quit. It isn't worth the frustration.

The killer stops too, the problem is the animation is a bit wonky, its not actually doing anything out of the ordinary from other killers other than the hit is delayed a bit. You can't move, neither can the killer, you still get aspeed boost, killer still has to stand there wiping their hand.
-1 -
So you are saying survivors are no not going to rest in companions until he's reworked into uselessness?
-3 -
I cant answer you because I have literally 0 clue what you just said
-2 -
Please be serious.
-1 -
I disagree, I don’t feel he rivals SM from what got her nixed, at all.
