Game Needs An EMERGENCY HOTFIX PATCH - FOLLOW Creative Assembly
They don't wait when it comes to game breaking bugs and issues when it comes to Warhammer 3. Make no mistake, this is a game breaking bug or issue.
Killswitch the ghoul until you can figure out how to properly balance him. For the love of all that is good remove the aim assist on the bite. Allow for skill expression via a skill shot on the killer sided and counterplay on the survivor side. I am primarily a killer player but I don't blame any survivor players currently quitting, this killer is miserable to face as survivor and detrimental to the health of the game and playerbase.

They didn't even try to hide that Pay to Win aspect with this Killer Chapter..

Have you noticed how BHVR has ignored all the negative feedback? I hate to break it to you but they intended for it to be this way.
-2 -
"Killswitch the only thing released in the new DLC less than a week after it releases" would be business suicide. It would also crater the player numbers right before the blood moon event.

how is it pay to win when Nurse is included in the base game and blight is obtainable via in game currency? You don't imply kaneki is actually better than Nurse do you?
-14 -
In general his skill ceiling is way lower so yes for the majority of people that try Nurse 1 time and try Ghoul 1 time, Ghoul will perform better. Please, tell me I'm wrong.
18 -
Floor. It's skill floor that you're talking about. The skill ceiling is the opposite (at what point you can't be more skilled and expect better results). Skill floor is about how easy it is to pick up and get results.
5 -
No, that's a true statement. But at that point majority of people can try buffed Legion 1 time and perform well (possibly even better compared to when they play kaneki) against a great portion of soloq teams. Kaneki is not the first killer we got that is both really strong and has a fairly low skill floor. (old spirit, old SM…)
As for the p2w part, I was referring to the dictionary definition, which says:
practice of paying to get weapons, abilities, etc. that give you an advantage over players who do not spend money.
By that definition, a killer player who buys Kaneki is in no way more advantageous over a f2p killer player, as there are objectively (according to the general consensus) stronger killer options are available in the base game. (I could even make the argument that Spirit is easier to play while being free and on par with Kaneki in terms of strength, if not stronger, but that's debatable.)0 -
Apples to oranges. You get my point so no need for correction. His skill EVERYTHING is easier than Nurse. There you go. Happy?
-5 -
What are the perks that are meta-defining and locked behind a paywall? I feel like most current meta perks are accessible for free on both sides. On top of my head worst offenders are DS and Deadlock and can fall under p2w, but both of them have great alternatives in their own categories.
Also, you can always wait and eventually get those perks from Shrine of Secrets. I don't generally buy survivors, so that's how I got all of Lara Croft and Nic Cage's perks.3 -
Mmm, it's just that having a lower skill ceiling doesn't mean a Killer is "easier", it just means that at some point their mechanics are going to gimp them more. Take Legion: it doesn't matter how good someone is going to get with Legion, they're still basically an M1 Killer, and have a much lower skill ceiling. But that doesn't make them easier to play.
Kaneki's actually got a reasonable skill ceiling in there (and part of the skill floor – the size of the aim window – actually hurts that) when it comes to using his power around loops, so the skill ceiling is fine.

Regardless of what any of us think, the nerfs are coming. Just a matter of time. I'll start calling it the "skill whatever" in honor of this conversation. Thanks. The Ghoul's "skill whatever" will be nerfed soon. Gotta mark those calendars.

Pain Res, Pop, Corrupt, and Nowhere to Hide are all unlockable without spending a penny.
0 -
This is a terrible situation for BHVR because the killer is licensed
4 -
… because they're all on non-licensed killers that can be unlocked using iri shards.
Artist, Clown, Plague, Knight.
4 -
You can unlock those perks by unlocking those killers with iridescent shards, aka those blueish ones you get by playing the game. Pain Res, Pop, Corrupt, and Nowhere to Hide can be unlocked free without the shrine.
6 -
However long it takes you to get 4k for plague or artist tbh. Maybe enough time to get some of the starting Killers to P3?
Sloppy is free and always good; Spies is actually a really nice general info perk. That's two sorted if you're planning on an M1 Killer. Enduring is hard to go wrong with and Enduring + Brutal just needs levelling Trapper.
0 -
Enduring + Brutal, though, is a nice combo (enduring/brutal/spirit fury might be a meme, but it's a fun meme). I just said Trapper because you can get Brutal from him, which is nice; I'd rather play Wraith but his perks are not great.
Anyway, I think not having a totally meta build as soon as you pick up the game is fine. Learn a simple Killer, kick a few things; then get artist or clown and you're sorted. Bonus points for Pinhead's perks soon to be coming into the free tier, so you can get gift of pain + pain res without spending anything in the time it takes to get some basic competence down.

Depends on how much the surv is predropping as opposed to playing well, experience with the range of pallet stuns, things like lag, whether you're gambling lunges on someone greeding etc. It gets value if you play into it (and obviously it shines like no other with spirit fury).
Hell, you can get value on enduring alone against some survivors – eat the stun, survivor vaults back when you should be locked into a stun…
-2 -
Want? Often. Need? Unless you want to sweat every game and are determined to play like your life depends on it, no. You need to play differently without it, but you can still win and have a ton of fun without it. 99% of the time, no side's going to play perfectly, so what does it matter?
-2 -
Depends on what you'd define as a "solid build".
And if you want to play another killer…play the other killer?0 -
I mean if they keep it this way they'll bleed their survivor playerbase over the long term as more problematic killers get added, queue times right now are not quite 2v8 level but getting there.
4 -
And you can win with no gen defence. It's not even some impossible challenge like you're making it out to be. Some Killers (poor, poor Trapper) are a lot more dependent on it than others to get the needed time but, by and large, random lobbies are not going to be perfectly coordinated. People will be inefficient, will have imperfect information, will make mistakes and be overly altruistic etc. It's as much about pressure and knowing where to go and when to tunnel as anything.
Yes, if everyone plays super efficiently and maximises their gen time, then you'll probably need regression. That ain't happening in most of your public games.
And yes, I was slightly off on remembering the iri shard cost from memory. Oh well.
As for 'needing different perks': that almost exclusively applies to nurse, who just wants aura reading.
-1 -
Sloppy Butcher, Spies/Whispers, Iron Grasp, Noed. "Solid" on practically everyone sans Nurse (and even then it "works" on her). Getting a 2k kinda depends on the player though as player whos horrible will still do horrible no mater what build.
Your also missing something, some killers like our favored Artist has multiple perks that are "solid" for multiple killers. The amount of killers youd need to unlock is less than youd think to get a general "solid" build, unless your going for something specific of course.

I think leaving him in this state will also drastically lower the player numbers in the Blood Moon Event. I am considering of taking a break until they make significant changes to this overtuned cashgrab.
8 -
killswitching a killer that you cant just hold w and win with its basically suicide for the games current revenue stream, he is NOT that strong to warrent a killswitch
-2 -
nurse is a lot harder to learn to play.

Maybe, but there's considerable reputational damage here: selling something, then turning it off (plus licensing!) in less than a week when nothing is outright broken – imbalanced is not broken, regardless of perceived or actual balance – is not going to look good.
Especially given that BHVR only released it on Tuesday and will only be looking at the first weekend's data by the time the event's meant to start. Kind of bad timing on that one.
0 -
The reputational damage is here anyway - BHVR released a Killer intentionally overtuned to get more sales. And this means the Killer will be nerfed once sold enough. This is also not really good for their reputation.
2 -
killswitch new character that works as intended by devs, is like "I dont want to say that word here". Do you think they realy turn off him jsut because he is "unbalanced"? Most people have problem only with his first injury. Thats it. They'll never do it because they loose money then.
0 -
He will be nerfed 100% , only question is when. Keep coping that he will remain untouched they will lose more money by their survivor whales quitting the game in droves.

Creative Assembly live service games aren't on 4 different platforms.

Saw a baby killer win 17 games in a row with Ghoul lol. This character is stomping low MMR pubs to death.
1 -
This killer isnt as easy as everyone thinks. Attack…Cooldown…Leap and attack. Cooldown. Leap to survive to catch up. Survivor is stuck and cannot move, now so is the killer…You guessed it! Cooldown. Leap over window. Cooldown.. cant hit anything. You leap and bounce of random objects, which if you haven't noticed in this game there are many. The killer cannot down with his power. Just because you are injured doesn't mean anything. Other than his hitbox being broken thats about all that is going for this killer for Console players. He's a pc killer.

His skill floor it said extremely low not his skill ceiling.

I've not played Ghoul yet but I was under the impression that the ability's aim assist was to make him playable for console players. There are already a lot of Killers that are extremely difficult to make work on console (Huntress, Trickster, Slinger, Pinhead, Oni et al) and without some latitude I think it would be impossible to land his Kagune Lunge using a controller.
This of course does not mean some of the really egregious hits I've seen should be a given, and it's completely unrelated to the other, highly oppressive aspects of his power like inflicting Deep Wound and the very generous Berserk timers that give you incredible mobility for very little. Whatever they do to Ghoul (and I think they're going to have to do something about him given the strength of feeling in the community and his undeniably pubstompy nature) I hope it's to some of these problematic points and not just taking a sledgehammer to his power à la Skull Merchant.

Skill whatever is the "new" term. :)

Aim assist should not exist in any fashion in this game. Call of Duty was already ruined for pc players when they added aimbot assist built in software hack for controller mouthbreathers.
