This event confuses me
I'm reading killers are getting gen rushed. Well from my experience it's the opposite. I've managed to only get through 10 ornso survivor solo games and i quit the game. Done with the event already. I'll wait until the event is over to play again.
My games nobody is doing much of anythinglet alone rushing gens. And 8 out of 10cmatches were against the new killer, and he was slugging us and we were all dropping like flies to even do anything. Lol
I managed to fill the blood gen once on my fourth game before I even realized thst counts as a gen. Most of the time I'm either sligged on the ground, or I'm playing defense unhooking and healing and running briefly from the new killer all match to even be able to do the blood gens.
This new killer is all over everyone all the time. There seems to be no distance gaining at all. Even if he directly hits you after your hurt and it gives him nothingit still slows you down and stops all distance gains.
All ten matches I played as survivor tonight were a complete mess, slug fest, steamroll of a game where I never got more than 30 to 40k a match gens or bo gens offerings or no offerings. It was a mess.
The New killer issues ontop of the low bloodpoint gains for survivor make this a no go for me.
I'm playing killer i guess. How are you all fairing? Am I just that unlucky? 10 matches of he'll was enough for me. I just don't have that much patience these days for a game. If I'm not enjoying myself I'll simply stop. And do something else.
Sis a no go. At least on solofor this event. It's pretty bad.

It's a mixed bag for me on both sides. Kind of just depends on the killer I'm playing or facing.

Killers are getting gen rushed…unless it's a Ghoul - then it's just game over right off the bat for survivors. Problem is, almost every one is only playing Ghoul XD
It's the non-Ghouls that are having issues

I've just finished the first page of the event Tome and I feel like I'm in the minority but my games have been just fine in general. I agree though that some of the bp gains are woeful but hopefully it improves as we get through the community challenge. Nobody has been overly unpleasant or anything though, which is nice.

Ive been playing alien since i prestiged him to 100 last bloodmoon event. So hes got all the eyeball offerings. If im playing normally avoiding tunneling/camping/slugging etc, i tend to end up with everyone on 2nd hook stage and i manage to kill one while the rest get out the gate. Out of about 3 or 4 rounds of that result with 1 round being 4 killed (which it doesnt really matter if you kill all 4, the killer tends to make the most points off number of hooks even if most escape). But on survivor, yea its just kaneki tunneling someone from across the map then slugging everyone else with 4 gens left saying ggez lol. I don't think they thought this through when adding the new killer just days before the event.
But as far as gen speeds, they do go pretty fast sometimes as some of the blood dumpster generators have a blood pump almost right next to it and since it only takea about 2.5 fills to finnish its pretty fast compared to regular gens if ur busy elsewhere

Playing Ghoul without tunnelling or going full sweat leads to pretty much the same outcome (after persuading people to actually do the gens rather than just trying to quit on hook). Which is fine enough for me, if I hook everyone that's 10k BP and that's all I really want to do…
But I think the generator no-interactions-with-anything has a lot of awkward interactions. Slowdown and regression are nonexistent – except healing. A lot of good effects are otherwise tied to kicking gens, or gens being completed, or gen progress, or just being near gens. So, what Killers and playstyles are effective at all levels of play…? Well, anybody that's fast in chase, can take advantage of something like BBQ (or Spies, because the other changes make everyone run stealth), and minimising the time Survs can work on gens. So, Kaneki. Blight, too. And tunnelling/slugging.
Or, of all people, Sadako because her tapes literally conflict with the cans and somehow she gets a buff.
I'd also say that, on top of reinforcing "playing nice is a luxury for a dominant position", the blood generators make it a lot harder to find Survivors. Nobody's spending 90s glued in one spot prime for being picked off if you know where to go, or intercepted on hook from the generator end. The pumps aren't super far, but they do spread people out a lot and mean a lot more time for stealthing. What does that benefit? Aura play and mobility. So… Ghoul and the usual offenders.

Idk I'm just playing blight and applying as much slugging pressure as I can

I haven't really played anything on the survivors side, mainly I've been playing pinhead to give people a break from kaneki. I didn't play last blood moon, but I think I would've preferred it ngl. It also sucks because none of my gen regression perks do anything. I'm really only playing it for the little bit extra bloodpoints.

I really don't understand why the killer can't interfere with the event gen with Ruin or PoP and there are 4 of them. There is no gimmick that the killer side can take advantage of in any way, and Matthew thinks the killer players are bots or volunteers?

well, the new gens can be completed in 10-15 seconds so...

I only got to pay killer yesterday and was not intending to kill any one. First game the gens went pretty quickly and I didn't have time to fully chases. However they figured it out and we had a slug race at the end. I didn't really care though. Second they 3 gen themselves for the last one., so it would have easy to get a 4k. The one Sable just have up on first hook and I didn't realize it so she was gone on 2nd. I just chased the rest and didn't care. They kind of played on guard though. I didn't get to play survivor because that's when the game broke.
I was Pyramid head and Wesker.

I don't feel like I'm getting rushed per se, but rather I'm finding it harder to find people. It's probably all the Fixated gaming, which may give the illusion of facing literal geninjas

Pretty awful experience for me too. Its either Ghoul or Legion in the BP event.
People just taking advantage of deep wound free hits & making the game boring. I played for 3 hours last night & 2 matches featured a killer that wasn't Legion or Ghoul. Not looking to be tunneled/proxy camped on the ground during an entire month of the event going on & facing off against the same 2-3 killers over and over.
No thanks, lol. Taking a break till the event is over/some patch notes hit the Ghoul.

I haven't played as killer for the event yet to see the issues talked about here. I wanted to see the new event objectives from the survivor side. The jugs, and the troughs etc...
I noticed alot of teammates were all going for the troughs but the 10 games I played before I stopped for the night ended up slugfests with the ghoul. I'm now guessing after reading all the replies alot of killers are having issues with gen rushing bc the blood gens not having gen regression effects?
Still tho, isn't playing the killer worth more points than survivor? If so I'll swap over and play as killer for the grind later in the week. I can only play a few days a week if that. So when I do I try to always get the most points I can.
SOunds like gen rushing aside, killers still get way more points.

I mean, between the devs giving a basekit Mori on the last Survivor (which incentivizes slugging for the 4k) and making a "surrender" option when everyone is slugged (which essentially means that slugging everyone officially became an alternate, and arguably easier depending on the Killer, win condition) then it's no wonder that slugging is out of control.
