Please revert this 999+ change π
What purpose does this serve? I like to know my exact number of add-ons as some work better together and I'll try go get roughly the same amount.
Now, I have no idea how many I actually have if over 999.
Why is this necessary?

Yeah, I don't like it either, even though I haven't reached that quantity for any item.
If it does need to be capped at 999, then we need a way to sell or otherwise discard inventory items. I know there's a bunch of clutter in my inventory that I'll never use...

I'm still disappointed with their last UI overhaul being terrible and basically unchanged and then they do this. And somehow during this time they still haven't bothered to add more then 3 preset slots for builds and cosmetics which is all I really wanted them to change regarding menu features and UI.
Please revert it. It may be incredibly minor but being able to see the exact number of something is still satisfying.

Wait, I thought the 999+ was only displayed on equiped items. Why would they change it on the inventory as well???

This will be a problem during the Anniversary event for stocking up for the year with a specific # of cakes/character.

revert please

This 999+ change is awful for us long time DBD gamers, i have 5k plus on many items but i no longer know, and cant keep track of addons or items REVERT

i 100% agree that this change has a huge questionmark over it. Don't see the point at all over this change. Revert.

This is just another UI change for the sake of change; there was no need for this. Nobody asked for this, and if anything the only people this change would affect (the long-time players) would prefer it be in the thousands because then we can see how much we've put into a certain character. I genuinely don't see why they made this change, because the actual items are still capped at 2000.
Revert this, BHVR, and while you're at it please stop messing up the UI for no reason.

Yes, please revert this, or at the very least tell us the lame excuse why it has to be this way going forward.

Please display the actual numbers instead of 999+

The new load out UI is great.
Being able to see the number of items, add-ons, and offerings in the loadout screen is great.
The 999+ is not great. We should be able to see exactly how many of each we have.5 -
This change is a fantastic example of changes made for the sake of changes, and not a result of dialogue between developers and the community.
There is no reason this change was made. Anyone who had over 1000 of any item or offering does not want this change.
The removal of the arrow keys that enabled survivors / killers to switch to the next chronological character was also removed despite it being a useful feature.
There are so many UI "updates" that make this game worse and show a lack of regard for the people who actually interact with the UI elements on a daily basis.
Revert now, and stop alienating the people who play the game daily and buy every DLC that drops. This UI change is a slap in the face to anyone who has a passion for collecting - this game has been out for 8 years, most people have at least 1000 of some item or add-on.

This will also cramp my Exultation hobby. I was very close to hitting the 2,000 milestone. :(

999+ would be satisfying a loadout preview but we should still be able to track the exact amount when interacting with the loadout menu. If anything this should be implemented with its counter in the next patch with the lobby perk preview, this way it serves utility for all players whether old or new.

I like to collect add-ons for some killers and this update is actually ruined everything like who even asked for that change?

agreed

I'm doing a lot of challenges with my community where we collect items/add-ons/offerings and this change completely killed it. Please please please revert this change. I've played this game for over 9k hours and I want to show and know how much I earned in that time. Where's the point in grinding if I don't know how much I've gotten?
PLEASE REVERT THIS CHANGE!

I haven't seen a single player supporting this change, nor have I read the reasoning for it anywhere. Unless this change is necessary for some coding reason it should be reverted.
5 -
I think that showing a 999+ on the equiped slots is fine, but you should see the exact number while checking the inventory.

BHVR has to store the value of how many of each addon we have to know when it ticks under 999.
I don't know what the problem is with them showing us the full figure. Make it a toggle, if they're concerned about clarity at a glance.

Agree. I'd like to see my addon / item stack. It gives a sense of progression even when you reached p100. Please revert.

Another unnecessary and annoying UI change. Iβm disappointed but not at all shocked. They do this like every other update.
6 -
Absolutely unneccessary change. It needs to be reverted asap. Maybe they want people to interact with the support more because you can bet that I will be writing a support ticket whenever I want to know how many cakes I have left on my main survivor.

I can't imagine caring about a number (Item Count minus 999) that isn't going to affect my gameplay for literally hundreds of hours. And that's if it EVER has an effect. (You don't get that many of an item if that number is going down with any regularity.)
If you're on some made up side-quest collectathon, that's cool, but I wouldn't label the devs as "awful", "annoying", or "terrible" because they didn't know about it.
I'm sure they'll hear your concerns and probably change it, but geez, y'all actin like they killed your dog or something
Personally, I find it annoying that I have 999+ of an item in the first place. I've already unlocked all perks, and I've prestiged the characters I care about, so that number is just a reminder of how useless BPs are after a certain point. I'd love to be able to trade some items in and reroll (even if I have to take a loss).

It's also still 4 characters long so whats even the point 999+ is the same length as 1000. If you want to avoid 5 digits just make it so once you reach 10,000 it says "10k+"

This is something that bothers me too.
I really like the change that shows the count of items that are equipped. However, removing the ability to see exactly how many I have of a specific item/offering beyond 1000 is stressful and unnecessary. I like to collect things, but I need to know how many I have, especially for anniversary cakes so that I can make sure to have enough to last me all year, and then so that I can pace myself when I spend them during the year.
A mitigation that would still be a bit inconvenient but at least better than nothing would be to show the real count when you hover over it or select it. I would just prefer a setting that would be a toggle between the "streamlined" version showing 999+ and the "display item count" version showing the real number. This way we could still easily check what we have but people who prefer knowing less could still be happy.
We need to grind so hard to accumulate this many items, please let us manage our inventory as we see fit. For that, we need all the information.1 -
revert this change there is absolutely no reason why we should be capped at 999 and any of us that have more shouldnt be able to see the rest of our inventory items. simply not being able to see our max cap is ridiculous if i have 1000+ how do i know how many i have left? lets say i want to keep a certain number and not have it drop below 999 items
3 -
Exactly, every update the UI gets worse and worse and adds useless things no one has ever asked for, and yet the things people have been begging for forever, like adding more cosmetic and perk presets they refuse to do. It's so frustrating.
How about instead of capping items at 999 why not implement a way to sell unused items & addons that are accumulating dust for extra Bloodpoints. Now that would be a useful quality of life feature.

I had spent years collecting items on my maina character and i enjoyed reaching new milestones, i was about to reach 11111 brown medkits and i would have shared it with all my friends but now i cant see what the number is nor will i see it as i surpass it when you rever this. Thanks i hate it.

please revert this change itβs hurting the community and collecters
1 -
This 100% should be reverted. Hiding the number adds nothing positive to the game whatsoever.
2 -
I don't know why did they do this change.
The UI was fine.
2 -
honestly, it looks very tidy and cozy, they should maybe only add possibility to hover over an item/addon/offering to see the actual full number
-2 -
Over 2 weeks and still no update on this matter :/

Legit, please revert this. Have mercy on my tism driven item hording hobby.
