The profanity filter NEEDS to be addressed.

This is out of hand. At least make it a setting. You cant even type "killer" or "kaneki" even indivudual letters and simple phrases are banned. Ill literally say something nice in chat and it looks like im cussing someone out by half of it being blocked. The game is M for Mature. If you cant even handle the word "killer" you may not be mature enough to play this game lol. Please do something about this. you cant even type the names of most killers in the game.

I think kanekis name was censored before even the ptb to prevent people from spreading the leaks in game. But i have no idea why they keep it permanently censored

to be fair their entire idiotic AI filtering is complete trash from years now. Names being censored, phrases and so on who exactly are we protecting here I wonder. Cause I know I am being cursed at anyways even with a filter lol are we protecting the 5 year old kids who are not supposed to touch such a game until they are 18 or what lmao. I guess I can add idiotic AI filter to the list of failiures from Behaviour.

Game is for adults but profanity filter exists... This is the craziest thing I saw in this game.

But yeah, it's something I said, and will saying - make profanity filter a setting.

If someone is so sensitive that can't see word "kill", even in sentence "I didn't wanted to kill you, but I lost count of hook stages", they can enable it. And people who are grown enough to not care about swers and death threats through video game, would be able to participate in chat fully.

Just makes it a traditional blacklist of words, stop trying to be "clever" and read "context" or whatever it's doing.

I've seen the SAME WORD being blocked for one player while another can type it. How does that make sense? Is one player analyzed to be more angry than the other?

I wouldn't go as far as to say remove it entirely but at least an option to toggle it on or off would be nice and put some time into perhaps tweaking it's aggressiveness. I don't particularly mind seeing what others say, even if it is relatively nasty, as if it's enough to warrant a report it will get taken care of regardless.

There are too many times where it will just completely nuke a perfectly fine sentence, and even as others have mentioned saying even safe things like "Kaneki" can sometimes get filtered out.

I saw a situation where "rpd" was censored. I guess because the system thought it was someone trying to game it to type yaknow. I also got "Meghead" censored in one of my personal own chats as well. The system is horrible. Idk why they don't do a manual one, have someone input all the slurs, and variants of slurs, ways to type them out in different ways etc. Because banning "#########" in a game where the characters themselves say it is the goofiest thing on the planet.

If I were in charge, I would eliminate the filter entirely and just auto-ban on obvious slurs. You can't police every single variation, so if someone wants to get cute, you're never going to catch them without a moderator looking at a manual report and a transcript (the system for which should already be in place).

Yeah, I love saying things like "good chase" and sometimes it censors "chase" or I can't say some characters names. Just censor all the naughty words and make it a toggle like every other modern game with a chat. It's wayyyy too censor happy.
