NERF THE GHOUL
You will have to nerf the ghoul unless you want to have no solo queue players left.
It's honestly ridiculous that is hasn't addressed yet
NO SURVIVOR LIKES PLAYING AGAINST THIS.

Kind of makes you wonder why there are PTB’s. Every single new killer comes with issues that were obvious in the PTB but yet most of if not all the broken stuff still makes it to live release. Might as well just skip the PTB’s, release live immediately, then adjust the following week with a patch. It doesn’t take that long to figure out what the glaring issues are that need to be fixed.

I just let myself die at this point as soon as I know its the ghoul.
11 -
Yeah, he is to strong right now.
For me it is this long hit he always gets.
3 -
Kinda hard to release a balanced killer when on ptb people say "lmao ****killer D tier"
Looking at the ptb, Kaneki looked insane, yet the community tried it's best to clown on him from the reveal.
Dracula and Vecna had solid kits, but we're undertuned on ptb. So the narrative lately that bhvr has been selling OP new product to push sales shows yet again this community isn't to be trusted to not make knee-jerk reactions.

If Devs are taking the serious feedback from killers and survivors, as well as playing him themselves, it shouldn't be that difficult to see.
1 -
I want them to get rid of the auto aim. Better ranged attack then Deathslinger. This will not only increase the skill floor but deal with frustrations I have when playing Ghoul. So many times I try to swing off of something but the auto aim locks onto the survivor.
6 -
I actually thought this too.
They release him OP so all the killer mains will buy him and then nerf him after they've made their sales. I've been wondering if that's been happening.
-1 -
I get it, but why bother even queueing up right now? On the off chance it's not the Ghoul?
Changes are almost certainly coming, but it's been like 10 days.
To be fair, the last few killers released strong and remained very strong after they were changed. I don't think releasing killers OP and then nerfing them into the ground is a thing.
Kaneki will be nerfed, but not into the ground. He'll still be plenty strong, imo.

"They haven't made sweeping changes to the Killer when it hasn't been live for two weeks" is not an unreasonable thing for BHVR to do. For one, you're stuck with a lot of unreliable release data that changes are no good in, then the event came out and made a mess of things in its own way.
3 -
They probably havent made enough money from it yet. I for myself just give up every game. I am sick of it. Bhvr got the impossible done, i hate one of my favorite animes now. Pretty good job so far.
1 -
they said he's getting some changes for hotfix 2 he's like 2 weeks old do you guys have no patience.
do you expect changes in an instant??
-1 -
Abandon feature is easily one of the best things they've implemented in awhile.

I agree 100%. Kaneki is simply UNBEARABLE, to say the least.
His first hit can get you even if you're hiding behind barrells, crates or other stuff. There's a YouTuber that released a video recently on ''how to counter Kaneki'', and he got hit through a pallet, a lamp and a bench, on Unknown's map. Kaneki wasn't even looking at his direction. His face was priceless.
And if you manage to escape, no problem! He'll simply leap towards you, cancel his power and free hit you in no time. I've been trying different builds ever since he hit live servers. Nothing helps against this killer. I don't know how this killer passed PTB without any substantial changes. He is clearly toxic to the game. He's practically an authorized cheat.
Honestly, Bhvr… what were you guys thinking? Out of 100 matches played in a week, 88 were against Kaneki. Main killers have always seen the game as… "if there's 4 survivors, I must kill them all". Ok, nothing wrong with trying your best… but a survivor that never escapes is not a survivor, is a victim. This kind of killer emphasizes the wrong pov of obsessed main-killers.
And yet, you guys need more time? What's more to analyze? He's over 63,5% win rate according to NightLight, and he usually kills the 4 survivors almost near 45% os his matches. It's insane.
This is the first time ever I'm actually considering quitting DbD for good. I always take some time off, play other games, but eventually I come back and get hyped with the game again and again. But right now? It's desmaying…
10 -
Playing killer right now is the only way to avoid kaneki. I'm just gonna play killer till changes come for kaneki. I'm so tired of being stunlocked into a animation for a billion years, then being completely helpless cause he has a free hit mechanic.
16 -
It really hasn't, the only egregious example of this has been Chucky, and Chucky was amazing for almost an entire year until he got gutted… and then he got buffed again this patch, just he's not as good as he was.
Looking at the last handful between Chucky and Kaneki…
Houndmaster actually released in an underpowered state and had to be buffed.
Dracula got a much-deserved nerf to his transformation cooldown and to Medusa Hair, and came out of it… still one of the best killers in the game.
Vecna got a little nerf to Mage Hand, just because that ability almost guaranteed hits in some situations, but he was never oppressive.
Unknown is basically perfectly balanced.
5 -
Look at this, everyone. The perfect example of how broken this killer is. How is this even allowed? Low cd, garanteed hits, huge mobility…

Nerfing killers wont make you better at the game, just saying
-8 -
Being good at the game makes no difference here. Just saying.
13 -
it really does
-11 -
good news, in the ptb preview stream on discord mandy just announced that changes are coming in hotfix 2, before the next chapter (but consequently won't be on PTB, they're going direct to live)
5 -
but when IS hotfix 2??? I'd like to actually play this event as survivor and get points too
6 -
probably tomorrow id guess
2 -
I'm kinda hyped for the nerfs. Jason's mask and Hinamis Umbrella are problematic so I'm happy that bhvr is changing them. Kanekis recovery was too much so I just couldn't see how that addon could or should exist.
1 -
Probably because it takes time to figure things out, on both sides. This is why you shouldn't make changes too fast until people have had time to let things marinate and see how it goes
-7 -
Yeah, people have wild expectations. Yes, Kaneki is overtuned, no question. Is anything there so broken it needs to be addressed immediately? Absolutely not. He's not broken, he's just too strong. And as you say, they have to wait for a larger data set to see just how much of this is the overtuning and how much is adjustment period for a novel killer.
Changes will come, probably sooner than later, but expecting them inside of two weeks is kinda silly. I've even seen some people ask for a killswitch, which is just absurd.
-1 -
If people are consistently saying that the killer is problematic, the queue times are affected, hits are pretty blatantly misses (I've had a Kaneki try to aim for the person they're tunneling, mess up two lunges, and auto aim onto me, while still trying to tunnel out a survivor) - then it's quite apparent that the killer needs changes.
Additionally, their Iri Mask add-on needs definite changes as the Hens build is problematic for a multitude of different reasons.
A built in BBQ with screaming after Ultimate Weapon was problematic, yet Behavior creates an add-on that is built like that on demand on a killer who gets enraged quite often. It's damning how Behavior creates problems in their own game, want to penalize people for going next, and then create an absurdly overtuned killer, while wondering why or how people still want to proceed to GO next or kill themselves when versing this killer — it's preposterous.
7 -
You are acting like he's better than nurse though. He's not. So he's not like (lets killswitch him) broken. He does need some minor tweaks but the reality is people are blowing it way out of proportion.
The point i'm making is that playing the killer for a couple hours on the PTB does not dictate if that are "good or not" it takes time to figure out how to play as and against a new killer, so saying that like "PTB should catch this" or "everyone said he was trash on PTB" makes sense, its just reality, it takes time to figure stuff out and PTB is often not enough time to figure these things out.
-2 -
I would argue that Kaneki is better than Nurse for the lack of a skill ceiling that this killer has.
I have seen Kanekis get blatant hits while lagging - something a Nurse or a Blight cannot do as the game doesn't point you to the survivor and automatically put you onto them. Can a Blight or a Nurse bodyblock you in the same fashion as a Kaneki can? Nope. - Kaneki basically does everything better - he can traverse better, his innate mobility is better, he gets enraged quite consistently (making it so that he's often always enraged) while problematic builds are quite oppressive on him. Why did Hens not mention these specific builds on a Nurse or a Blight that are in the same category of S tier? Because the game doesn't handhold you into playing Nurse or a Blight and give you free hits and then give you the mobility to close down chases as frequently as the other S tiers.
Even Dracula cannot do the things Kaneki does, yet Dracula still is up there in lethality for their mobility. Why play other S tier killers when you can shut your brain off and play an auto aim killer?
7 -
Well, you heard it hear folks. Nurse is officially a worse killer than the ghoul.
-4 -
Haha, if you think that's a gotcha Reinami then sure.
Even with the changes, I would still argue that Kaneki is still better than Nurse - what is your point?
I'd rather go against Nurse, I can loop a Nurse quite well - as it actually is skill based and more mind game oriented rather than Kaneki as they are now.
Do you think Nurse is stronger than Kaneki, even with Nurse's basic aspect that it takes many, many, many hours to get to a masterful Nurse while the average Joe can pick up Kaneki and get consistent 4ks?
Edit: you know, I've said on the forums that I love versing Nurse. 🙃 I don't mind Nurse and I can loop Nurses perfectly fine! Kaneki on the other hand, as mentioned prior, has a low skill ceiling.
Low cost, high reward compared to high cost, high reward for Nurse.
6 -
I have an easier time playing as Xenomorph or Unknown honestly. Ghoul has been overrated since the start.
-5 -
Yeah, I think people are feeling as overwhelmed by the volume of Ghouls as much as the strength of the killer. And yeah, I feel that, too. I'm sick of his face, I'm sick of his sounds, I'm sick of his cheap as hell, low skill first hits.
But in the two weeks since the Ghoul dropped, if I were to rank my top 10 most helplessness inducing, lopsided losses as a surv, all 10 would be Nurse or Blight. No question. As I am sitting here typing this, I am looking at post match scoreboard where three of us escaped versus a Ghoul. I escape versus Ghouls multiple times a day.
I haven't escaped versus a Nurse in weeks.
Ghoul needs changes, but people are just in an irrational state at the moment. He needs changes, but many people are adjusting to him.
-1 -
He's more accessible than Nurse. He doesn't need 1000 hours solely dedicated to him to be played well, and most of the stuff he can do is accessible to console players. That's what people mean when they complain, "He's too easy to play." If you make him worse than he is now, he'll be worse for learners, causing no more new people to pick him up, and the top players with him will be basically untouched. That's the same thing that happens with almost every killer nerf, not even addressing the real issues.
-1 -
Well The ghoul got nerfed.
1 -
I can't believe manual scamper survived.
I don't know why it wasn't the first thing on the chopping block for them to nerf on him.
