Still having problems with this

No do not say go to FAQ to find the solution that doesn't work. I want to know how I can solve it since yes I have dbd on steam but I haven't played it in years since it ran poorly on my PC. Someone said play a bit on steam to give your account progress but that doesn't work either and it's not connected to any other account I made a throw away dbd account to test it and it connected to steam super easily so what am I supposed to do?

Edit: Used a throw away account again and it linked completely fine and I unlinked it to see maybe it would work now but nope.

The only other thing I can think of is the account you are trying to link came from the family sharing that Steam killed off last year maybe?

No I don't think so since the throw away bhvr account worked perfectly with it but my proper behavior account didn't

Ok that was the only thing that came to me to check. I'm on Xbox so I'm unfamiliar with how the linking works or with Steam in general.
