I am shocked at how many survivors of the first hook death are currently dying
….and I don't care how many or what excuses are used. These players do it on purpose ! 😡
Why do the players do this? It does them no good, aside from ruining the game for the rest of their teammates. 🤬🤬🤬
Yeah, this really annoys me, and I hope survivors who intentionally let themselves die, intentionally run into the killer, or just go AFK are punished harshly in the future.

They should forcefully dc people who attempt to go next, thats the only way to stop people from doing this. Like if a 3rd hook attempt happens when no one is downed or anything, then the survivor will turn into a bot and the first stage of the survivor would be increased by some seconds

Because the game is balanced around Killers having a good time and leaving the Survivor experience like crap.

I’ve been playing killer for a long time and a lot of survivor teams seem to do pretty well against me. Who is having a good time consistently as killer?

Well I had a match just now vs a scratch or vanity( not sure) Mikey today that was chasing me on McMillan and 4 gens got done.
Laurie gets her first down in basement she rage quits on her first hook with just one gen left. Like just why?
Anyways me and the other 2 escaped. But it really again this is why people swf. Not too long for the long awaited punishment comes. Hang in there abit more all.

That doesn't make any sense. It's an intentional mechanic in the game. You can't control for what reason someone is choosing to attempt on hook. What if i have slippery meat? What if i or someone else brought a jar of salty lips? You can't determine the it is only necessary to attempt on hook because everyone else is downed.

Isn't there a perk that allows unhooking in the basement??? forgot what it's called but it came out with Sable (I think)

Well similar to the surrender machanic, it could have scenarios where attempting on hook is detrimental to the team's success. Self unhook attempting when no one else has been hooked, no unhook perks of any kind in play should just flat out be punished for. Self unhook attempts (attempts, excluding deli and wicked) just shouldn't be allowed so early in a match. People go next because they got outplayed and think that all hope is lost, so they should just force the survivor into a Disconnection with penalty and replace the teammate with a bot. Simple as that, doesn't break the luck based machanic that already shouldn't exist

I think people mostly do this for one of three reasons:
1) They’re kinda over the game but still queue up out of habit or maybe even addiction.
2)They’ve spent a bunch of money on it and don’t wanna switch to something else ‘cause it’d feel like wasting all that cash.
3)There’s just no other game quite like DBD, so they feel stuck. (Honestly, that’s probably DBD’s biggest strength after all these years imo.)I also feel like a lot of people don’t even play games for fun anymore, it’s more about being the best, or trying to become the next big streamer, Etc…

The game is not that situational. DBD has only very recently added game situations that call for divine intervention in the form of an abandon/surrender button. You're still trying to dictate how someone uses their first hook state. Devs aren't inputting all of these "if" statements to further complicate things. What arbitrary time are you suggesting be the standard of when it's acceptable to allow an attempt off hook? There's no functional reason why they would replace a player with a bot because of 1 hook state.
The luck based mechanic exists because most people are solo que and need some form of agency on their own. The game is made such that you rely on a teammate to safely unhook you but in the event they cannot, you can try to do so yourself. Yall think survivors should be shackled together it seems.
Speaking of what shouldn't be in the game, you shouldn't be allowed to leave someone on the ground for 30-40% of the run time to look for someone else but they allow that too.

This is 2025 and for whatever reason we still have the option to practically DC without any penalty, only on survivors though

I had a triple dc when I spawned in as sadako

I'm not shocked at all that people go next as often as they do and I don't understand the point of trying to keep them in the game.
I always ignore said players and let them move on whether I'm on survivor or killer because I know they're not going to play regardless.

Yes, I believe that too. There are many players who want to do their challenges and therefore play certain builds, for example, and there are also players who just want to have fun. DBD is and remains a party game.
