this game feels unfair for killer and survivor
its either the gens are too fast or the killer tunnels 1 survivor out asap. How is this fun for anybody?

It's not. i just went back to playing some killer for the first time in ages and the gen speeds are out of control

If you are talking about blood moon event, this is the world where regression doesn't exist
every game is tunnel or gens done in 6 minutes, there is no in between

I think this is going to be a thing later on (when the Devs figure it out completely)

Matchmaking is the biggest reason it can feel that way.

This. I have 11,000 hours. I regularly face survivors with under 5k. It's practically impossible for me to lose at that point. Dbd will always be stompy unless it gets a real ranking system, which it never will because players like me would have to wait hours for a game.

Gen rush and tunnel/camp are two major design flaws this game has.
One leads to the other.0 -
You are asking kinda impossible, even if there would be most accurate MMR system, you wouldn't get 4 survivors with over 10k.
- not enough players for that
- time played does not equal MMR (skill)

That's kinda the point. Dbd will never have a matchmaking system

I mean, we had such a system at start, where it tried to get an accurate match making…
but we had seen insane queue times, it was just not really fun for most people and quite hated overall.
I don't think DBD is the game for that anyway, I liked old rank system. It separated regular players from less playing/starting and that was enough imo.0 -
how are you surprised there is not good gen defense perks left

It's more of the players involved… if the players you play with/against are doing things that you don't like that's one thing

Honestly the no gen regression isn't even that bad. What ruins the event are the blood pump spawns. They're either so far away from blood gens that you have to do cross country to fill up blood gens or they spawn so close to blood gens that it's practically a free game. There's no in-between.

The old system massively inflated queues for no real upside, because the "matchmaking" still simply didn't work. Ranks were never a reflection of skill in the first place.
THOUGH I really do miss ranks. I still hate most of the changes they've made since 2019.

I think this is true. It's a good thing we get rid of the meta (gen-related perks), but the flow of the game changes a lot and most killers struggle to have a decent match if the survivors do their objective and don't throw the match.
I don't know, it really is a tricky situation. But I do believe BHVR is gathering data from this event and coming to conclusions.
