After a couple rough ghoul matches i went unhinged and made a new uncleansable Devour pinhead build. Hope to see you in the fog

Tbf when bhvr hasnt designed something as fun to play as since wesker, they have done quite cool designs as dracula and unknown but the rest has been just meh. People are starved and as annoying as it is ghoul is feeding that hunger.

I’ve been seeing Ghoul surprisingly infrequently the past few days. Maybe I’m just lucky and I certainly won’t complain.
4 -
Well that too damn bad

I feel like killer repeat prevention should be a thing, but it may negatively affect queue times. Though quality for more time over quantity and sufferage is my personal opinion
5 -
The devs need to make a reduced chance of same killer filter

It's a bit annoying sure but it's nice that BHVR has made a genuinely fun killer to play as so I can't really fault him for his popularity. It's a nice change of pace since other recent killer releases have been lackluster where their popularity falls off a cliff within the first 2 days of release.

There should be an incentive for playing other killers, I guess BP makes more sense but Iri Shards would be a bigger pull overall. Although the likes of The Twins or Trapper would probably constantly have a permanent incentive active… 😂
6 -
A week ago I would have agreed, but the Ghoul encounter rate has dropped way off for me
2 -
I am such a massive sellout, that I would be willing to play Trapper, if they give me enough BP for it.
But in past 7 months or so even normal incentives are not working properly, so doubt it.

I agree with you but if they do add that in then the queue times will be chaotic.

Holes is an amazing movie lol

Sometimes you just have to deal with the killer at hand. Sorry that they're inconveniencing you while trying to kill you.
-13 -
I’m so numb now, you might as well play skull merchant. I’ll give you the kill.
-4 -
Then why queue up? Dude, you cannot do that. The game is based around the 4v1, not the 3v1. You owe your teammates your participation.

Ghoul matches have died down a lot for me. I still see him but it's not as regular now.

Endless matches against the same killer? Talk about a recipe for monotony. The ‘go next’ problem has been a hot topic in the community, and maybe it’s time for the developers to take notice and shake things up. Variety is the spice of gaming, after all!

This is what happens when many killers get nerfed so badly that they aren’t fun to play as anymore.
-1 -
I had Myers, Ghostface, and Pig in a row. I feel like the fog is healing.

yea thats because the ghoul just got release. just mind-blowing when a new killer is released and people complain about facing that same killer, yea cause a lot of people want to either try him and/or love them to where the killer becomes part of the rotation. Just because you get sick of going against the same killer is no excuse to "go next".
1 -
oh boy am i scared for the fnaf chapter for this simple reason. first off killer queue wil prolly be worse then 2v8 and constant dc's etc
2 -
I mostly main killer but on occasion i do play survivor and usually have a blast (even if I lose early in the game) and there are killers id rather not go up against. Whether im losing as killer or survivor i dont go in with the "go next" mind, i go in with the "No Surrender!' mindset.
But thats just me

I would say I get them 30% of the time now.

You thought ghoul was bad? Get ready to face only springtrap for half a year
3 -
I'm just explaining the cause and effect nature …or I guess it would be 'affect', since it involves an emotional toll.

At least Springtrap isn't Spider-Man.

Said like that, it sounds like it’s used just for fun — not because it was ridiculously unbalanced at launch and still is today. We've normalized a killer being able to injure survivors for free, having extreme mobility, and, on top of that, multiple advantages to end chases. And that’s not even counting perks and add-ons.
I get that playing with him might be fun. But generally, players don’t pick a killer because they’re entertaining — they choose them for their potential. And the more potential, usually the better. Otherwise, we wouldn’t constantly see the same killers being used out of the 39 available, or see some disappear entirely after getting nerfed. Do we still see as many Spirits after her nerf? I imagine she's not as entertaining anymore because she’s no longer as destructive and humiliating for survivors, right?
Look, if players were really playing just for fun, we wouldn’t be where we are now in every aspect of the game. Don’t get me wrong — I do think the idea of fun when it comes to killers has a lot of nuance. Sure, some players genuinely play for fun, but generally, from the killer’s perspective, winning is all that matters (or getting a 4K, if you prefer). Chases are considered disposable; if they weren’t, there would be no zoning, no camping, no tunneling, no bullying the weakest, no trading hooks.
Thank goodness they removed grab interactions — that mechanic was “super fun,” right? Fun has been completely overshadowed by the absolute need to not lose a match. If that weren’t the case, we wouldn’t see such radical changes in playstyle mid-match — and you can spot those a mile away.
Sorry to call it out like this, but if Kaneki were just as entertaining yet half as destructive, barely anyone would be using him.

This killer normalizes looping the killer and not pre running. Sorry that he's slightly overtuned but somebody had to put a stop to pre running everything as a solution.
-2 -
What's wrong with pre-running? Should survivors just wait for the killer to get right next to them before running away?
4 -
It's boring. Like, 4 man slug level of boring.or face camp with noed+ deadlock back in 5he day
Obviously a healthy amount of pre running is necessary, but true efficiency is the most unfun thing to experience in dbd. Some killers think its the bully squads but those people simply have never seen the ninja squads.
Chasing scratch marks all game as a Tier 1 Nemesis against a bunch of Laras camping vaults, all refusing to do gens until a mate calls out they are in chase is probably the worst experience you can have as killer.
KKillers Like knight encourage that safe behavior and nobody likes him

That's interesting. I expect survivors to prerun against me, so I try to account for that in my approach. Most cases of prerunning I see (and that I do myself when I play survivor) are just to get to a reasonably strong position to loop from.
I guess I do get what you mean when it comes to survivors on comms calling out where the killer's going. It's obnoxious to find that 100% of chases start with faint scratch marks even against a high mobility or stealth killer, all while the rest of the team is pushing gens. But I still see those cases as opportunities to improve my larger scale mindgaming; like "what's the best way I can move so that my position isn't getting predicted well by my target and the survivor has less optimal prerunning options?"

This is exactly right. This is why people played him Nonstop on release because he was overtuned, brainless to play with zero skill floor and they were decimating survivors every match. The vast majority of this playerbase only care about getting that 4K over and over and this killer gave them exactly that. Even after his nerfs he’s still super strong and has a couple issues that need addressed. Hes still getting hits around corners with no LOS on the survivor and being able to traverse an entire map in two seconds is obviously going to appeal to players who want to min max every match.
The idea that people play him because he’s “fun” without acknowledging that fun=winning every match decisively back to back is what the vast majority of this playerbase means when they say “fun.”

Releasing overtuned killers is not a solution to a playstyle that you don’t like nor is it healthy for the game in the long run.
