Framerate-killing hack
So, it would appear there is a new hack going around.
I just watched Slate's stream for a bit and he had games (both as killer and survivor) where soon after spawning in, the framerate would quickly drop to unplayable levels and crash the game, at which point he couldn't even use ALT+F4 anymore.
In order to prevent a full freeze you have no choice but to disconnect and eat a penalty. Two days ago I encountered this as well (timestamped). And I'm not even a content creator myself.
Can we get any word from BHVR about their efforts to combat these types of hacks? You're seriously going to launch the FNAF collab while stuff like this is possible? That's going to be one hell of a first impression, I can tell you that much.

Poor Slate seems to have had alot of bad luck with hackers lately, which is surprising since he's such a pleasant guy. Usually they like to target streamers they can get a rise out of, but I don't think I've ever seen Slate lose his cool so not sure why they'd pick him.

My friend literally sent me a video of it happening to them this morning. I came here to see if others were having the same issue. Very odd and concerning seeing how it's happening to more and more people.

The hackers can also force survivors to get into forever mend state or getting stuck in a lockers

The anticheat in this game is a joke. I played 3 games today and 2 of them had blatant cheaters.

im not even surprised that this type of hack are hitting dead by daylight escape from tarkov has the exact same type of hacker that recently took over the game it lag you out till you completely freeze there one hacker in escape that was called gpu killer it would freeze your game and make you gpu go into overdrive from all the lag they where creating in the game seems like they hopped into dead by daylight not much you can do for now tbh old games has a lot of vulnerabilities they have to cover and this one hack targets a lot of old game it's lame as hell

Had this happen to me a few hours ago. Now I'm eating the penalty too, thanks BHVR I guess:
Oh and btw, prior to this game I had three consecutive dedicated server crashes in a row - with 10 minutes queue in between each time. Had I started recording earlier I could have streamed 1 straight hour of content without a single game.
So here is my 2047th opportunity of reminding BHVR that THIS DC PENALTY SYSTEM IS THE STUPIDEST OF THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY AND ONLY ANNOYS LEGIT PLAYERS TRYING TO PLAY THE GAME. YOU HAVE BIG STREAMERS SITTING AT 15 MIN RIGHT NOW WHO NEVER DC WHILE RAGEBABIES CAN STILL SUICIDE ON HOOK FOR FREE EVERY SINGLE GAME. Hmm sorry I mean yes please do something about it thanks

They're probably spamming some effect that overloads the game until it runs out of memory.

Ah I actually had this on PS5 once today and wasn’t sure what caused it.
Started the match and got on a gen straight away as the killer came close to us the frame rate went from bad to full freeze in the space of a couple of seconds and I had to close and restart the game.1 -
I saw someone report this on the Steam forums, but I couldn't gather from it whether it was a Survivor doing it or the Killer.

Like everything else, BHVR won’t prioritize it unless player count starts to drop.
