The Devs need to improve on killer addon design.
If you pay attention, most killers 80% of the addons are useless or very situational that not even worth using. I think they are too lazy to think about addons and just put whatever comes to their mind.

Improvements and QOL are much needed for killer addons.

Same for survivor addons

It's very hit or miss.
Sometimes you get a Plague (who has a pretty wide spread of nice add-ons) and sometimes you get an Unknown (with 9 status effect add-ons)
Though it does seem like it misses more in recent years.

I think first they need to look at the killers who are add-on dependent for them to feel good to run and/or be effective. Reload add-ons for Deathslinger comes to mind, he feels awful without them. But other killers all are run with one or two particular add-ons pretty much every time. A couple during power updates have had some common add-ons added into their base, but more is needed.
Have they ever put out add-on usage stats per killer?

The worst part is that that is likely intentional. After they destroyed houndmaster’s knotted rope and made it the most useless addon in the game (literally invisible effect that doesn’t affect gameplay in any way) they said the new effect was more in line with their expectations for “that kind of addon”. They want the majority of Addons to be unusable. It’s enraging.

Choy's currency system would fix these problems.
