Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

New rift + quest system are a huge downgrade

The new quest system is a huge downgrade from the tomes, visually it's so bland and boring, this update stripped a huge amount of character from the game.
It seems the consensus is that it's being 'simplified' for new players that will join when the fnaf chapter drops but it feels a bit insulting that there's this assumption people wouldn't be able to figure out the old tome/rituals?

Not to mention that now the rift is way grindier than before, casual players who don't have time to play for 1-2 hours a day wont even be able to finish the rift, as opposed to the old system which was much friendlier to the average player. I've seen many posts from others about how you can't actually even finish this rift if you just play normally.
Also with the old tomes you could complete the rift only playing one role, whereas now to even get close you'll have to complete ALL the challenges for both killer AND survivor, which is another detriment to the average player, who usually favours one role over the other.

One last note is the new rarity colours, why have they been changed to match other games rarity colour systems? Again, it's not difficult to adjust to a slightly different rarity colour code between games. It also creates confusion for new players who've joined and then go looking for dbd content online, all videos on dbd since it's creation will use the old colour scheme.
Plus the new blue and green is hugely unfriendly for colourblind players.

I really hope at least some of this is rolled back, a lot of it feels really unnecessary aswell as detrimental to the identity of the game as a whole.

they've made this game so unfriendly to casual players that it feels like they are desperately trying to force us to pay money if we want to get anywhere close to finishing the rift. It feels like scummy monetization practices that they are hoping to capitalize on when a bunch of newbies get here for the FNaF chapter. I really hope they increase the rewards from the quest system, or at least lower the requirements for each rift unlock.
