That hasn't been my experience at all. I have been playing Kaneki a lot and survivors now often make it to the other side of the pallet when I use my enraged vault against them. The vault seems pretty balanced to me now.
This bug however needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Yeah you pretty much get in the position to mindgame the pallet if you vault the pallet. But it's no longer a guaranteed hit at most pallets unless the pallet is incredibly safe as you said.

In the clip shown you dont make it around its not a 50/50.

Kidnap tech is when you grab an unmarked survivor and mark them to vault very fast while they can‘t move for a very long time. Here it is just the normal vault while grabbing someone.

How can you tell that? He would have been half way around the loop when Kaneki's cooldown after vaulting the pallet ended. I don't think one can 100% tell for sure if he would have made it around or not, considering he went down immediately after Kaneki vaulted.
And in my experience, most survivors now make it to the other side of the pallet when I use my enraged vault while grabbing on to a survivor, because the hindered was now halfed in duration. Unless the pallet is like really, really safe.

Great so there are two bugs that make Ghoul wildly overpowered. How have none of them been fixed yet?

From the video and experience you can tell.
Hes right behind him when he vaults, the bug is just immediate damage here. You can see kaneki is right on this guy after the vault.
The cooldown between him vaulting and then just m1ing the person in the clip is not even beating him past the front end of that car. He would have downed him around the front left of the car with an m1.

In the version I discribed the survivors are locked in place longer, but I‘m unsure whether they fixed it in the last patch.
The kidnap tech specially means the exploit. In the clip above it is just his normal vault while grabbing someone.
What do you mean with two bugs? The clip above is just normal gameplay, no bug.

Again, it's supposed to be like Wesker, so it should happen only when you are right next to him and try to vault back. Not when I run away from start…

Any other situation is simply a bug. It definetly does not work like that with Wesker, or I have yet to see it happen.

For me it happened a lot of times since he came out that I injured people who were the same distance (even tho this wasn’t quite consistent). Since the last patch I have more the problem that it doesn‘t injure people running into me and vaulting back at all.

I don't think so. The reason he was so close to Ghoul is because he got downed so early. He would have been half way around the car when Ghoul would have received his full movement speed again, it would have been a close call I am pretty sure.
As I said, in many cases survivors are now able to make it around the loop even if Kaneki vaults the pallet in enraged mode. But I guess it does depend on how big the pallet loop is.

Hes directly on top of the person, if the bug (instant hit) didnt happen it wouldnt matter here. Take out the instant hit and its a clear m1 down through and through theres no debate.

I would most likely get downed there anyway, because loop is too long, but doesn't change the fact I got downed by a bug. That was not supposed to happen.

That means shift-Wing to yellow safe pallet aura isn't a good strategy against Kaneki. And that's okay.

You can't honestly claim that that what happens in this clip is intended. It's clearly broken and shouldn't happen. The survivor is multiple meters away from Kaneki and he still gets downed.

Maybe you are right but I am not fully convinced. In my experience survivors are able to make it around loops again after Kaneki vaults, most of the time at least. Since the hindered nerf that is.

Well, you can't hold W against him, you can't play safe pallets and you can't play windows, because he has addon to block them or often use Bamboozle.

If this is intended then it just shows how disconnected these devs are from their game's balance. There is literally nothing you can do against what happened in this clip as survivor.

To be honest, I will not be surprised if Kaneki becomes Skully 2.0 and you will have tons of survivors just giving up.
You simply- can't hold W (dash in front of you)
- can't double back (he can just cancel and stop there)
- can't drop pallet (way faster vault than Wesker has)
- can't greed (he is not really punished for pulling out his power unlike other killers)
- can't play window (often use Bamboozle and even has purple addon for it)
Basically only thing that works against him is playing with Resi, stay injured and just gen rush him back to lobby.
But good luck trying to convince soloQ teammates to play injured, they don't do it even after all this time against Legion…
I don't really think he is better than Blight, Billy etc. not even close, but I definetly think he is so much easier to play and way more annoying to play against.4 -
I am not so sure about that. If they don't fix the bugs, or techs, of Kaneki, then maybe. But when he works as he should, and we assume that what you have shown in the clip as well as kidnap tech are bugs, he is kind of balanced now in my opinion.
Vaulting pallets isn't that strong anymore with kaneki, at least in my experience survivors often make it to the other side of the pallet again in time when I play Kaneki and use his vault in enraged mode by latching on to survivors. Unless the loop is particularly big.
If the pallet is also not dropped yet, you can play similar mindgame to that against Huntress for example. At least in my experience the cooldown after he just pulls out his power is big enough.
Doubling back also works sometimes because of the momentum he has when he dashes. It depends on where he latched on to however.
I think if they just remove these two terrible techs that he has right now he could be in a decent spot for survivors. Most importantly however, the frustrations that survivors have with Kaneki can be addressed much more easily with him than with Skull Merchant. If his vaulting ability continues to be too annoying for survivors for example, they can simply increase his vaulting time, maybe to something like 1.7 or 1.8 seconds. Meanwhile with Skull Merchant her problems where much more rooted in her fundamental design.

Most experienced players (Ex: Hens) agree that healing is still correct to do against Kaneki. He gets free hits, yeah, but if you don't then he might just pull up right next to you before you can react and down you instantly.
So forcing survivors to heal is basically a free slowdown for him. You can try to play injured, but he moves so fast that even with his enlarged terror radius, if he knows where you are due to Barbecue or something, he can be on top of you in less than a second after you start hearing the terror radius.
Kaneki is basically solely responsible for why I swear half of all survivors I see right now are running healing builds. Every lobby I've been in has has someone with at least one of Resurgence, We'll Make It, or both. I'm even seeing a ton of Empathic Connection, a perk I basically never saw before this.

That's my biggest issue with him, this doesn't work right now. If you press cancel during leap, there is no momentum after it.

Definetly not something you can do on safe loops at least. His cancel seems also less punishing to me than Nemi, or Huntress.

Healing build is definetly one way to go for sure, but I really don't think it's worth to heal with normal speed against him. That wastes way more time than what average survivor last in chase (healthy vs injured).
There is noone with more free hit than Kaneki, so you really heal only for that movement speed bonus, when he gets to you. Which is lost as soon he gets his power back…
Either you need to stay injured in my opinion, or you need to have healing build to simply make it more effective. Trying to always heal without any perk for it is going to lose you most of your games imo.
Funny thing because of Resi I can heal others faster, but personally don't have an issue playing against him injured. I see very little difference there.0 -

How the did you manage to get this outside all of text...
- Kaneki needs to hit with his power even injured survivors → free speed boost
- average chase against Kaneki (healthy vs injured) is not going to be higher than 32 seconds, which makes healing not effective
I always play injured against Kaneki and it's very rare for him to manage get into chase, where I can't do anything (land right next to me and down me M1). That simply doesn't happen unless you work on gen in open.
I have feeling you are Kaneki main and try to convince survivors to heal, so you win. Yes, that's definetly it.0 -
I don't really understand why you got snippy over that. We both agree that Kaneki is overpowered, we just disagree on whether healing is worth it or not.
Kaneki doesn't need to injure you with his power. Enraged mode is nice to have but not required. Fake Banette did a challenge where he intentionally never enraged and still won 40/41 games doing that. Granted it was before the last set of nerfs, but still.
I would say probably most times he hits you with his power while you're injured in a situation where he could just pull up next to you and down you, he wasn't actually trying to hit you. Most of them would rather take a down than extend their enrage.
Ghoul's main threat is his ability to just be on top of you almost instantly from just about anywhere on the map. If you don't heal, you run the risk of being downed for something as simple as him spotting you out in the open moving between generators.
I've tried playing injured and healing vs him. I usually lose either way, but I lose slightly less often when we heal each other.
