Frank stone... probably the most disappointing announcement I've ever heard about this game
I know this game did terribly money wise… i really get it.
The Gameplay wasn't great, but i absolutely adore these characters and the story.
But hyping up this cool killer with interesting lore and design just to put him onto trapper…
is disappointing
i almost guarantee if the game did better he was meant to become a character in dbd
and he def was meant to be…
i BEG you to please reconsider

I don't think they probably had enough time or space to add him into roadmap. Custom original chapter and lot of licensed chapters took the priority.
Also, would you say the game is worth -80% off atm? It has mixed reviews on Steam but for like 8€ it doesn't seem to be bad deal.

If he was always intended to be a Trapper skin, I think he would've released as one to coincide with the game itself, so it does seem to me they were seriously considering a full Killer slot but vetoed it based on the game's reception/sales.
I'm a bit bummed out about it too… But TBH, he was caught in the awkward trap of Supermassive's other projects being better collaboration material than Frank Stone was. Frank Stone feels "right" because his whole game is trying to sell him to you as a Killer, so him just being a skin does feel "wrong"… But TBH, I would be more hyped for an Until Dawn chapter, that's just the reality of the situation.

It's a good game that realises what it's trying to do well. I liked it a lot cause it reminded me of a choose your own adventure book, but more a choose your own horror story.
As someone who really likes classic horror, it gave me a real feeling that my decisions shaped events and ended up creating a pretty cool story just for me. I ended up with 2 survivors at the end which felt about right for who I would expect such a story to end, but you can end up with literally any combination of survivors by the end.
The games only issue really is it's pretty much all story, not much gameplay, so the replay value is quite limited, like a puzzle you already know the answer to. Its much more of a one and done game which is probably why it didn't perform so well. I can see myself giving it another go once enough time passes for me to forget it's major beats, or as a gaff to have someone new play it and watch what they do instead 😅

exactly, its very much a disappointing choice. I'd rather him not get added than get added as a skin, because then at least he might be able to come back even if its ten years from now. Adding him as a skin for any killer seals his fate forever, let alone such an unfitting choice as trapper

Can't agree more. Everyone was discussing how a Frank Stone chapter would be. Probably would be one of the most popular original chapters. I hope they change the decision.

I was really looking forward to having him as a killer, then I heard he was going to be a skin and that just ruined everything. I mean Behavior owns him and can do whatever they want with him at any point in this was what they thought was the best move. They had all the time in the world although waiting too long would kind of reduce the hype. Not only that you put him on a killer that is pretty much the weakest in the entire game. Such a let down.

I get that it's a funny screenshot but technically speaking it still stands true. Frank is Frank. Hence him being a legendary skin.

yeah I get that. But it’s still a direct response to him ending up as a Skin for Trapper, which is now the case (legendary or not)
And I don’t mean to be funny either. This is meant as criticism.

I liked the game.
My expectations weren´t very high and it is what you expect from Supermassive. + DbD Fanservice worked for me.
Last chapter was cool and i really liked the ending - even if i got a bad one :-)
I heard they had more stuff planned which was cut. A bit sad - i guess it would have been a lot better then.

the weakest in the entire game and a very, very unfitting pick. At the very least it coulda been something like wraith, since frank stone spends half the game as a ghost

I feel like everyone is taking that tweet too literally…. when they say that Frank is an unique being, they mean that you should see him as something more than just a simple skin for the trapper (even though he is just that). It does not mean that they have plans to add him as a killer
I have friends with autism that also tend to take some things too literally so I can understand why some people thought we were getting a new killer

I lowkey feel the same way, The Champion would have been a perfect original killer for DBD as he even had his own whole game explaining how he became a killer in DBD. Honestly we should start a petition or something that way the devs can actually do justice to Frank Stone and make him a killer like he should have been and not just a skin for a killer that is nothing like him.

Eh. I still believe at that point of time they actually did not plan to make the Champion Frank Stone not a Trapper skin but an original Killer.
I get that plans can and will change and they never directly promised an original killer so in that sense I am okay with it.
But if they actually already planned to have him a legendary then no, it’s not me taking this too literally but it is them misleading. We will probably never know for sure which one is right anyways but I will give them the benefit of the doubt0
