Years later: Was Blast Mine ever OP? It deserves some love
So, a long time ago, Blast mine got a lot of changes, the biggest one being the HUGE nerf, probably the worst nerf a perk has ever gotten (okay probably exagerrating a bit), the crazy long animation it takes to place the mine on the generator, instead of just pressing the ability button while repairing.
It made the mine a preventive perk rather than a reactive one, if you saw the killer come to the generator, you used to be able to place the mine and go away. Now, you have to place the mine before the generator is in any actual danger and potentially lose it if the killer never comes to defend that gen.
It was a huge change, but… why? Blast Mine has always been a fun perk, it was never too strong, it's not the worst perk in the game either and is still okay today compared to a lot of other perks, but It never deserved to be obliterated like that.
Can we reverse that change? The perk feels really clunky like this. It's not overpowered to stun the killer this way. It wouldn't become a god tier perk. It would still be an okay perk. But it's fun! Let us have fun with an okay perk please! It's just annoying to have to get up from the generator, place the mine, and resume repairing just for that.

Blast Mine is fine as it is.
Those 4 (essentially 5) seconds of stun is more than enough for the small animation you have to do for it.

Lightborn is a amazing counter to Blastmine.

It doesn't actually do anything apart from show you the aura of the Survivor who used it, which is not really all that useful unless you're playing one of the super fast killers.
The actual flash from Blast Mine is way brighter than the usual Blind Screen too. It's like 2016 flashlight blinds when the screen turned entirely white.

Which is many killers. I feel blast mine is fine as it is it doesnt do much besides waste 3-4 secs.

I actually have a slight chuckle kicking a gen and getting blasted by it. It's a weirdly comical thing for me.3 -
lightborn only gets rid of the blind you still eat the 5 sec stun

Put a blast mine and illusion, you can also lure the killer by red herring.
It's meme. It's useless. But fun as hell.

Is this the stun animation or the whole process of kicking being stunned

blast mine does 2 things when a killer kicks a gen
1 blinds the killer
2 stuns the killer
even if you use lightborn to counter the blind there is still the uncounterable 5 second stun
the reason why i say that blast mine has no counterplay is because outside of not kicking gens or using surge you can't avoid it

I miss the percussion blast sound or whatever it's called+ the bubble you'd see/hear as Survivor
