Generator damage should be increased to 5%
When a killer kicks it, apparently it does very minimal damage and is basically just a default sign for killers to see if a gen is being touched.
I propose that by default, a killer’s kick immediately takes 5% off with losing 1% every 10 seconds afterward. Brutal strength ups the damage to 12/14/16% and 1/1.5/2.
Survivors should also have to lock in the repair animation to stop the gen from regressing - no more tapping.

I hope you're aware that a regression rate of 1% or 0.8 charges per 10 seconds is much lower than the current regression rate.
Right now, it takes a 99.999% gen 280 seconds to regress to 0%. Yours would take almost 4x that.

Yeah survivors should have to do a barrel roll into a ######### triple axel just to start working on a gen after it's kicked.

I proposed a change forever ago that the gen regression rate should increase and the survivors should have to complete a 5-10 second interaction to start working on them again. To prevent 3 gen strats from being op give it 15 seconds for this interaction to be required.

I agree that kicking a gen should automatically regress it 5%. AFAIK it regresses it by 0% unless you have PGTW. Adding an automatic regression amount to a kick would deter survivors from tapping the gen during a chase.
However I disagree with your other ideas. Regression speed is currently 0.25c/s. I think it should be 0.4c/s instead, which is a tad bit higher. So where a 99.999% gen would take 320 seconds currently, with the increased regression it would take 200 seconds.
@DocOctober 280 seconds? How did you get that? Unless I'm wrong in how much it regresses, 80/0.25=320

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

An immediate regress of the 5% you mentioned immediately would be nice. It would drop the drive by taps anyway.

Whenever a survivor fails a skill check while repairing a gen it knocks the progress back 10% so why does the killer kicking a gen not regress its progress the same amount?
That would discourage survivors from sticking around a gen to come quickly tap it until the killer is off on a chase. A Similar situation worked for me when I was using Overcharge, which applies another 5% loss (total of 15%) for the failed skill check. idiot survivor kept missing the Overcharge skill check while I was chasing them around the gen and then I'd kick it again, 3 loops of doing this knocked that sucker down from almost complete to half done before he finally decided to run away from it and get chased. Really screwed over his team.

I did not know that. I thought it was like 1% every 30 seconds. My bad, I can’t math. But obviously my intention was to make the killer’s kick do some serious enough damage that tapping midchase won’t fix.

Kicking a generator should knock it over. Survivors cannot repair it unless they flip it back to the upright position. Flipping takes 90 seconds. Can be worked on by multiple survivors. Touching a flipped generator instantly give exhaustion.

This would discourage tapping during chase. I like it. I think 5% is fair ammount.
Or maybe make it so survivor need to spend a whole second to make gen stop regressing?

No.

I am a killer main and i think this is a really bad idea.
If you 3 gen the survivors in the end game there is no way they wouldn't be able to do anything with 16% damage per kick.

The regression needs to be much faster, at least double but restarting a gen should take no more than 1 second to stop from being restarted mid chase otherwise 3gen would become unbeatable.
As it currently stands killers need a way to prolong the game, that's without a doubt a question.

Yes, it's 320, I had a different number in mind. Still, doesn't change that OP's regression rate is much slower.

Can you be serious please, 90 seconds is not long enough and is a buff.

Overcharge should just be part of a killer's base build.

This is balance!

As someone that plays both sides base instant regression should either be higher or if you come back and kick it again within a short time aka gen tap drive by. Then the regression should be an extra 5%.
So if say you kick the gen and it regress the current %, you run off and 2 seconds alter someone gen taps it behind you and you go and kick it again. the normal gen regression % applies but also an additional 5%.
The only way the survivors can keep you from applying said bonus is to either not drive by or make enough gen progression to get it to where it was before you kicked it. So as an example they'd have to do the following.
The gen is at 95% you being the big bad ass scare them off (unless you're Freddy of course 😁) and kick the gen. Now the gens regressing the survivors do a drive by and the gen is now at 80%.
Now to keep you from getting that bonus 5% additional regression they have to get the gen back to 95% or have at least 30 seconds elapsed since you kicked it.
But those are just placeholder numbers and examples and would probably have to be tweaked. You could also make it so that once a gens been kicked regression doesn't stop unless the gens been worked on for at least 5 seconds or a skillcheck has come up.

Killer's kick immediately decreasing the gen's progression by 5% would be fine. But that should be the only change. The regress speed itself is fine imho.

Honestly, 5% instant regression doesn't sound bad and yes, I agree that regression should stay as is. Another change could be where a survivor has to work on a regressing generator for 1 to 3 seconds to stop its regression. After these changes, no more direct nerfs to generators since an entire rework will do more justice.

The only thing i find meh about regression is the Survivors' TapToFix.
I can live with the current regression speed.
But the tap makes it look like the same kick you use on Pallets isn't powerful at all.
I'd prefer the current "Apply regression" animation to be replaced with the Killer cutting through a wire. (Btw, it's safe to cut them lorewise as the Generator isn't powered yet.)
Then the Survivor needs to do their own 2-3 second animation to reattach them (which doesn't save progress if you stop in any way), from which they can also be grabbed.
