Why is slugging in 2v8 encouraged?
Slug in 2v8 with Oni and Blight and the Generators go slower too… What? Does anyone even test these stupid ideas before they release them?

OK, what am I missing? Killer immediately hooks you or you loop the killer by sitting in a locker.

Tf do lockers have to do with anything I'm talking about? Your saying, "Yes near every Generator in Red Forest is a locker that you can force them to hook you in and it's the entire Survivor teams fault for not realizing this." Rather than the devs having enough foresight to ensure that crap just can't happen period… You're a smart one.

Locker is a good strat, but it's not always viable. It's also not always the best play. Even if there's a locker near me, I have to give up the chase while I can reach it when I potentially could have squeezed more time out of it (even if it comes down to something like a killer misplay or misread.) So yeah, I'll do it if there's a rage mode Oni coming at me and I've got a locker, but it's not going to do much in the grand scheme of things if it's a Blight who's snowballing, or Billy or Huntress.
Also… slugging is encouraged in 2v8 because hook stages punish the killer. I still think the entire 'gens go faster as killers get hooks' system was poorly implemented. Unless that's changed between iterations and I didn't hear about that, it makes hooks that don't finish off the survivor a bad thing for the killer and actively punishes killers who spread them.

Oni being added to 2v8 was a mistake. He's not even in a playable state in the base game because of how inconsistent his power hits are. It'll over swing or magnetize to some obstacle sometimes and deny you a hit you should've landed, and other times it just goes straight through a wall or the survivor will be downed off-camera. They really should've fixed him long ago, and now people in 2v8 are paying for it.

I can understand that. I suppose many Killers are inconsistent due to the games poorly thought out code.

And not just that, it's like he's designed to be uncomfortable to play. When he goes for a swing and it makes you look up at the sky. Like what is that?

Deathslinger is an example of a Killer that felt great with his quick ADS, but they then realized they forgot to add that "clunky feel" to him as well once complaints started, so alas we lost the faster ADS.. :/ Instead of finding a way to keep the "feel" of the Killers great, they put a little clunk here and a little clunk there. Does nothing for the player experience other than make the game feel janky and dated overall.

I have seen slugging only for the hatches in 2v8 (which is annoying yes, but predictable), and the generators going a bit slower is probably down to a balance decision. They were previously pretty damn fast and likely needed some minor tweaks. Not surprised they maybe got tweaked either, remember how OP some of the Survivor classes became in the second version? Yeah nah.
