2v8 cages and anti-camp
Was cages moving when a killer is close intentionally removed or is this a BHVR special?

They still move. Just not if a teammate is nearby. I've seen it myself.

they 100% don't move even with no teammates near

Kind of like the Survivor bar for anti-camp doesn't move if another Survivor is by. They should both move regardless.. Bad design.

The anti-camp bar would be abusable if it moved when another survivor was close, because anyone could just loop the killer around the hook and give the survivor anti-camp for free, allowing them to free themselves while also occupying the killer. The problem with the bar is not that, is that it fills way too slowly unless the killer is insanely close. There are certain distances a killer can stay that can still be considered facecamping but don't allow the bar to fill fast enough before a hook state is over.
On the other hand, the cage should move like it did before. It doesn't release the survivor, just moves them so someone else can rescue, and it was pretty effectve in making sure camping wasn't so significant in 2v8 like it is in normal mode.

I just think it's bad for new people. New players are just supposed to know that they are ruining the self unhook by being close even if the Killer is there. A lot of this stuff is very poorly implemented..

Well in past 2v8s, Killers could purposefully alter where the cages were to force Survs to not find a caged Survivor, or to purposefully make it spawn way far away and predict where it would go. That obviously was not fair and increased tunnelling off hook, so I'm not surprised Devs changed it.

Lots of things in this game require knowledge to not mess up without realizing. That's why I think the game manual and tutorials should be updated. A problem this game always had is that the things the game itself tells you before your first match are very basic and leave out lots of information that are needed to at least play decently, and new players end up having to learn that by playing and failing a lot and watching guides from content creators.

tbh going against oni is boring as hell rather play against nurse all day then get 1 shot with no counter play with no terror radius

Yup been saying for a LONG time tutorials need a revamp, but since they haven't been, I'll continue to complain about BHVR overly relying on the community to teach itself how to play. There's a reason the majority of new players never stick around.

For those of you swearing the cages move - then make this make sense.
Note, there are 3 other survivors alive and they are all on the other side of the map, you can't even say someone was hiding close by.

yep got camped myself a few 2v8 games. cages not moving anywhere now. idk why BHVR is silent about some significant mechanic got removed and even didn’t mention it in patch notes. it shows how much they care about releasing skins weekly… oh no i mean how much they care improving the game or game modes and communicate with the community. not.

While we're not entirely sure if the mechanic is actually gone or not, doesn't it take like 10 seconds of the killer being there? Legion came and went before the teleport would have set off.

You're not crazy - it always needed the Killer to be there for quite some time, and it never activated if Survs were nearby. That's always how it worked.

Rude, the three of us are definitely crazy. It makes life interesting. But good to know it takes more time than that, thx.

Any previous version of 2v8 would have teleported the cage. They don't move.

Oh, my apologies… in that case all three of you are certifiably insane. :)

No, it never took that long in the previous iterations. It used to be pretty instant.

Shrug if you say so, we just remember it taking longer than that legion being around. We can't confirm or deny it's currently gone since we've yet seen any killer camp sans a bugged Wesker, and we don't know if that would trigger anything
