Invocation Perks to Give You Normal Broken Status

I like the idea of the invocation perks, but they're currently more of a hindrance than a help due to one player being broken the rest of the trial.

The weaving spiders perk already has a fairly decent non-op balance to it, spending 60 seconds to save 50 seconds across 5 gens.

Treacherous crows also has a fairly decent balance to it, and is only really strong in indoor maps.

So to add permanent broken status effect for both perks just makes both perks terrible and I've never had a game where either of these perks have been useful as a result.

I think a good compromise is to simply give the survivor a normal broken status effect after completing the invocation, meaning that they are only broken until their next hook.

What do you think, would this make the perks too OP? In my opinion, both perks would still only be average at best.

I think gaining a hook state with Weaving Spiders would still make the perk pretty garbage. I'd rather just have them implement the idea of op, where they gain the broken effect, but only until they are hooked.

Treacherous crows making you oblivious could work however.

I would actually play it with losing a hook stage compared to the current version. Losing a hook stage is much better than being an insta down and loud as ######### for the rest of the trial.

OPs idea is fine but I rather move away from broken entirely and I like about my idea that you don‘t get a downside at all when you do it later in the trial.

Weaving Spiders could reduces all charges on gens, but the user of the perk ends up suffer from I dunno a personal -25% speed on repairing for the rest of the match. Tweak the number if necessary, but something like this makes more sense than Broken status…

    Weeeeelll….

You'd still have a downside. Problem with Weaving Spiders is that it gives 50 seconds of value for 60 seconds of work. Even if it had no negative effect from casting it, the sheer amount of time spent in a vulnerable location already outweighs its benefit, and it would barely classify as 'decent'.

But I'm pretty sure Invocations are designed for killers, not survivors.

Sure but it‘s also a brand new part, which can‘t be regressed. This alone is very good and would make the time spending in basement worth it if there wasn’t the broken effect.

50 seconds of value for 60 seconds of work.

I wouldn‘t say, it gives you only 50 seconds for 60 seconds of time. There are two gens that don‘t get done, but having Les charges on them helps as well.

I don‘t necessarily disagree with you. They could of course reduce the time you have to spend in basement further or increase the charges you get from it. However by changing the broken downside or removing it, the perk would go from a killer perk to an usable survivor perk. It wouldn‘t be super strong, but at least useable.
