Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Title. What do you think Springtraps power will be? What perks does he bring to the table do you think?

I hope spring traps is a stealth killer. There are animatronics walking around the map and they can down you. Looking at them causes them to stand still. The animatronic give you killer instinct when they see a survivor and different animatronics move at different speed. He will probably have a vent system similar to xenos and a monitor with cameras for survivors.

Anything but a dash or ranged attack, we have more than enough of those.

It probably won't be that, but then it will get complained about and turned into that a year from now.

Unfortunately, my friend, this is a very real possibility.

The more unique killers are more vulnerable to unnecessary complaints, such as Sadako and Freddy.

    4 different powers.

    one teleport

    One anti loop

    One information

    One projectile... Bunny vecna

Here's my best guess for a Power, based on what we know already: (the security doors and the interview hinting he's a multipower killer like vecna/dracula)

Springtrap's power gauge passively charges, and when it fills, Suit Mode activates permanently similar to Xenomorph. Suit Mode grants him Undetectable, silences his movement, speeds up vaults and increases his lunge distance. Survivors can knock him out of Suit Mode via Cameras, or Springtrap can give it up voluntarily for a bonus to his secondary power.

Springtrap's other power is Animatronic Mode. Much like Hillbilly's chainsaw, he slows down while charging it and it's quite loud and bloody while it charges, but he can feather its charge meter. Once it's full, Springtrap is forced to keep moving forward until he cancels, his camera turn is limited and he steadily starts moving faster the longer Animatronic Mode is active. He can slide off surfaces with this dash by default, but it won't instadown and it's not as fast out of the gate compared to Billy's chainsaw. Colliding with Pallets breaks them, slowing Animatronic Mode (the speed penalty is harsher if the timing would've stunned) and forcing it to build momentum again, but does not cancel it. Animatronic Mode cancels Suit Mode, but becomes stronger if it does, activating faster, preserving Undetectable until Animatronic Mode is also cancelled, and enabling an instadown. On the other hand, if Suit Mode's cooldown expires while Animatronic Mode is active, cancelling Animatronic Mode is much faster and immediately puts you into Suit Mode.

Security doors are similar to Xeno, a tool for Springtrap to teleport around and get Suit Mode back faster while doing it, but also a means for Survivors to defend themselves and knock him out of power. If Survivors interact with Security Doors, they can see a camera view and switch between the cameras of all security doors. Seeing Springtrap on camera (most reliably, by predicting which door he'll teleport to) reveals him to the Survivors but the revealing Survivor is marked via Killer Instinct.

Doors have limited Power that recharges slowly over time- Looking on cameras uses it, but it can also be used to Lock the door temporarily, which will force Springtrap into a much slower animation if he tries to teleport to that door, but placing the lock forces the Door to burn through all its Power. (at max battery, a lock would last ~15 seconds. The camera burns power at about half the rate of the lock, and you can still view cams on a locked door for ~8 seconds of safe camera watching) Springtrap can also turn doors to his favor- Survivors watching cameras don't hear anything nearby and are Oblivious. If Springtrap interrupts a Survivor watching cameras, either by teleporting to their door while it's unlocked or moving there the old fashioned way, he can trigger a unique jumpscare animation, grabbing the Survivor off cameras. Entering a Security Door in Animatronic Mode lets you leave in Animatronic Mode for seamless traversal.

I'm biased here because this concept is relatively similar to what I originally had planned for Springtrap's power, just adjusted to fit into the new expectations based on what little we know, but this is genuinely what I imagine it to be- A Killer with strong traversal and stealth who is either closing distance aggressively or hanging back a bit to lean further into a stealthy playstyle, and Survivors who can't handle their cameras will get overwhelmed by the combination of both strengths.

I hope the new killer has the following capabilites:

    • Built-in Stealth
    • Built-in Mori
    • Teleportation or Dash
    • Killer Instinct (without Addons)
    • Exposed Status Effect
    • Ranged Attack
    • Movement with Power > 4,4 m/s
    • Surv has to collect/destroy some Killer Object aka „Secondary Objective“
    • Passive Phasing or Invisibility
    • Minion(s)
    • Passive Contraption (e.g. Trap/Drone)
    • Power can ignore/easily deal with pallets or windows

    I hope I didn't miss anything. Cheers!
