Not able to use hatch when deep wounded or slugged

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: I had deep wound active, but found the hatch while in chase with the killer. I was standing on hatch, but when I tried to activate hatch my character would only try and mend on top of the hatch, and then when the killer slugged me, I still couldn't enter the hatch, only recover. I've used the hatch before when plugged so I dont know why this was an issue.

PLATFORM:

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: was in chase with The Ghoul, when the ghoul injured me. I had deep wound active at the point. Reached the hatch, went to escape and the survivor would only mend, no option to escape through hatch. Then the ghoul slugged me, and the survivor only had the option to recover, not activate hatch.
