Pretty sure you can turn them off in the options.

This is a good tip, sadly it makes completing challenges feel even less rewarding. But so sad that BHVR threw away their unique system for more shiny notifications like every other game.

I set all mine to 'Completed' and it sorta feels identical to the old system. Though I kinda miss the archive system :(

For me it felt more satisfying to claim the Rewards manually. This also made it more interesting for me and I saw what I get and maybe used it right away. I have actually no idea what I got from the Rift, since all is claimed automatically. (Meaning without having to click on the Rift)
