Well there goes the rumors about renegotiations happening lol!
4 -
The names are dumb. Why didn’t they keep the old ones?
5 -
because the original perk names were related to pinhead and the hellrasier movies
12 -
Yup.
But, at least the newbies will have some solid regression perks and Plaything.
2 -
I know but why are names licensed. It makes no sense to me. They took a random name that is slightly related to the license and now they have to change it. Like why do they have to change the name of the perks when they can make it free at will?
1 -
I have no idea
They could’ve just changed some icons
But at the same time no harm done anyways
You can still call them by the names you prefer
I’ll still call it deadlock
Even tho that won’t be its name it’s still deadlock to me

Cus they are part of a contract, they would be legally in trouble if they keep using the old names.
Wdym? They renegotiated Stranger Things in the duration that the contract was gone, they had the other names as long as the contract was gone. Contract negotiations take time, paperwork, having it get past lawyers etc to make sure its fair for all sides. Dont expect it to be back till at least 9.6.0, possibly as late as 11.2.0

Hopefully that's the case! I definitely would love to see it but I also see a lot of people saying this one may not be back.
I was just making a funny too btw..it's just things I've read

Dumb names, somehow worse than jolt, fearmonger and claustrophobia.
5 -
agreed
They sound like they came out of a cheesy comic
6 -
It's just part of the license, they had to do this with Stranger Things perks too (at least until they got the license back). There's also slight changes in some of the icons; for example, Deadlock now uses a generic skull icon instead of a picture of Pinhead.
Unlike the way it was handled with Stranger Things though, the names and icons for Pinhead's perks will only change in the game if you do not own Pinhead, if you do have him then you will keep the original names and icons.

Here's to hoping he comes back!

Good from the lens of base game players getting some solid perks universal, but it's a shame this confirms we'll likely never Pinhead and the rest of the Cenobites come out of the box again. At least those that were here can still enjoy him.
1 -
The box....you opened it.....he left
3 -
Everyone happy newbies getting free stuff. Watch low ELO get boosted and then shock Pikachu when those Perks get nerfed because of low ELO being boosted by the three Perks.

That wasn't an issue with Demo's perks, not sure why it should be with Pinhead's.

Well, it happened..I got the cenobite! My friend let me have a code he had never redeemed due to losing interest. I have wanted cenobite for so long and am so excited to be able to use him!
Does anyone have any playing recommendations for him?
This is for computer.
2 -
The box. You closed it. He left. :(
I'm happy newcomers get some base regression and solid perks, but I'm still calling them Plaything, Gift of Pain, and Deadlock.
4 -
I'm so excited I got him finally. He looks awesome
2 -
I wish they would have made it make more sense logically when renaming it, like when you see it, you know what it does. For example, instead of the Deadlock perk, how about the "Da F? I was JUST working on that!" perk.
2 -
I was curious what the new flavour text is thank you for sharing. It's pretty good
No Holds Barred starting with "Let them celebrate" is kinda funny though lol2 -
Yeah, they could've kept Daedlock the same.

So am I. The old names roll off the tongue much better.
1 -
How will this affect
the troutthe new player population?1 -
I think it will be a positive, at least for the killer side.
They now have a good gen defence perk in Deadlock, a nice Scourge Hook perk, and a decent Hex.
2 -
I mean I can get that but Im wondering what impact this would have against new Survivors specifically.
Hex: Fortune's Fool (Plaything) seems a bit too much since Undetectable/Oblivious tends to be better against new/less experienced players, also it lets new players who buy Artist immediately go into Fortune's Fool + Pentimento (which while not as effective as it use to be, it's still pretty strong).
It's a bit worrying in that regard.

It's incredibly necessary for brand new Killers and will teach new Survivors to be more alert of totems, gens, and other tactics Killers have. It's all a good change for newcomers, new Killers especially. The fact is before this, Survivors had some really good basekit perks or easily unlocked perks from the word go for what is best for Survivor - Sprint Burst, Hope, Adrenaline, Lithe if you are on console, Bond, Empathy. But Killers have had nothing for what is most necessary to Killer - no gen perks, no real hex perks, just info. While that does train them to be good at chase and pay attention to info, it does nothing once they start to actually learn Killer and realize any half decent Survivor will not just sit there being cannon fodder, but WILL do gens and hide and may even do those things to a very high degree.
1 -
I could be wrong, but I thought I had read that if you own the Cenobite, his perks would still have the same names? The new names would only be shown for those who don't own Cenobite.
Boy, that'll cause some confusion…2 -
Well, from what they have said, if you own the chapter, the names will not change. We will see if that actually happens or not when 9.0.0 drops but if it does, that's going to cause a lot of confusion in the community.

I'm so glad Hellraiser is gone. Hellraiser deserves much better from a company who does care.
