Can you guys move lockers away from window vaults
PUHLEASE!!!! Either that or let us change individual key bindings!! (Instead of having one key decide so many different things) I am so sick of checking behind me to see where the killer is, and because my camera is facing towards a locker, I am prompted to quick hide instead of vaulting. Usually I remember to flick my camera around to avoid this, but it isn't something I should have to do! It's incredibly frustrating.
Also please fix how ping affects gameplay. I am very clearly outside of the locker, two feet planted firmly on the ground, and Chuck still gets the pull animation. I could've had a much longer chase, instead it was snuffed out because of things I cannot control. Feelsbadman.

It happens wayyy to often and feels really frustrating when the locker isn't even in camera

How do I put this delicately. Get better? Don't hit the button until you are actually at the window. I've been locker sucked many times and every single time it's been my own fault for hitting the button at the wrong time.

Poor locker spawns near windows shouldn’t be sonething we even have to worry about, were already 9 years in, this is something that should’ve been addressed a while ago.

this is a waste of time. there is nothing wrong with the placement. just hit your button at the right time instead of early. it's not their job to cater to your every whim for something completely unnecessary

They should just change lockers to use the same button as gens and heals

Dude it is ABSOLUTELY not my responsibility that they have awful locker placement and the fact that things share multiple keybinds. I literally said in my paragraph, that usually I am able to avoid this happening, but it still does! Even if I had my character model touching that vault, I would've been sucked into the locker too, because guess what!!! The game uses your camera's position to decide which vault to take. Even when I am NOT FACING A LOCKER, MY BODY IS BUTTED AGAINST A VAULT, like on Hanaoka? I am still thrown into the locker behind me. It is absolutely something that they can fix, not a skill issue, and probably something that players with less hours than me deal with frequently. Get off your high horse, I'm in the feedback section.

Actually it is a skill issue. If you were in the proper position where you should be you would get the vault prompt. If you had a different one and lockered it was because you were slightly out of line. Annoying, yes. But still your fault.
-8 -
didn't this thread get moved 3 times? also if you took that vault a bit wider you still would've made it and chucky got you at the last second of animation.
this situation was your fault since you were looking directly at the locker instead of the window
-6 -
It got moved once. From General Discussions to Feedback. <3 Your arguments are illogical and irritating tbh

NGL, as long survivors can do things like CJ tech then they should also be able accidentally jump in a locker when vaulting. It's a double edged sword that I both love and hate, but never want to see removed.
-2 -
did you look at your own clip? you were trying to look at the killer in the direction of the locker (you turned your camera left facing the locker) so when you saw the prompt hopped into the locker because you were looking at the locker instead of looking at the vault
this is a skill issue

Also add lockers to locker deadzones please! (I'm not Dredge btw, honest!)

It's bad game design brotha. It is something that effects the majority, and is a hinderance to gameplay. God forbid I complain about something in the feedback section. god forbid
It's always "skill issue skill issue 🤓" with you mfers. Always. Why should I have to deny myself information (looking at the killer) and go out of my way to move my camera to avoid bad game design? The way the code is affects more than just this to, like people throwing pallets instead of healing a slugged person, survivors doing CJ's, etc. You literally have nothing constructive to say other than "it's your fault boohoo" like dude. Don't peruse the feedback section then idk what to tell you!!!!!!

I'm amazed people are actually arguing against this.

Only in the DbD community would y'all actually defend what is clearly an issue of bad design.
If your game uses the same button input for multiple actions, putting two of those interactibles close enough that they could both be activated by the same button press is bad design.
This kind of "skill issue" one upmanship is trite.

People should def stop saying it's a skill issue. It's just a strange game mechanic. However, what everyone here needs to admit is that fixing the accidental vault into lockers will also remove all types of CJ techs from the game (standard, locker, chem trap, …etc).
I personally don't want to see CJ's removed, so I'm okay with accidentally vaulting into a locker mid chase and getting downed instantly for it. The game has already removed a lot of skill expression opportunities on the survivor side lately, so it would really suck to see CJ's go too.
However, I'm curious to see what everyone that wants the locker vault fixed thinks: are you okay with CJ's and other single button mechanics being removed as a result?1 -
but from the clip you posted as proof it's a skill issue on your part you didn't even need to look back since you were healthy and can afford to take a health state or if you did turn your camera facing away from the locker at least
i am giving you advice

This is just being needlessly contrarian.
Lockers and vaults using the same key is something the community has complained about since the beginning and almost everyone agrees that it's an annoyance and should be changed. This regularly crops up on Reddit, Twitter, the forums, etc. and the vast majority of replies are in agreement that it's poor design.
Hopping in to say "skill issue!" is not helpful. Yes, we all know that camera angle plays a role in selecting an interactable, but DbD is a fast-paced game and sometimes — especially on controller — the positioning doesn't line up quite how you want it to. All of the frustration could easily be prevented by allowing separate key binds or spacing lockers further apart from windows.
It's a small change that fixes a common grievance.

the problem is with their gameplay though not necessarily Windows and lockers being too close in this instance also can't you remap your controls on controller? i play k&m so all these buttons are separate
-2 -
The Devs just care about appeasing Killer frustrations. See the post about Killer Items and Chests. Or anything else Killer plays complain about that immediately get reverted.
1 -
The killer items and chests has been complained about for a long time at this point, it's just there was a current uproar because the fnaf chapter will be big and to have his power countered by chests is terrible.
4 -
All BHVR has to do is place hide in locker in the same category as healing, totems and gens call it interactions. Vaulting should be its own separate button.
3 -
Yeah, this happens to me too, and it sucks. Especially when it results in a grab like this xD;;
I also feel bad when I play killer and it happens to the survivor I'm chasing. It would be a really nice quality of life change that would remove frustrations <3
4 -
Got reminded of this again last night when I died to this. This really needs to be addressed.
3 -
I agree BHVR needs more commands and allowing more mapping
2 -
I think every killer would appreciate picking up the surv instead of vaulting on over! 😂🤣
1 -
They also need to change the bind for interacting with Killer power on controller. I have gotten so many undeserved downs on console players as Skull Merchant because they end up hacking my drone instead of vaulting, especially at Shack. It's hilarious but also complete bs.
3 -
If you press the button at the wrong time its your fault. Should we also get rid of the tec were the killer is tricked into picking up a Survivor when they want to to open a locker/break a pallet? What about crawling to a window to trick the killer into wasting time by vaulting instead of getting the pick up? The limited keybinds are a part of the game that both sides should have in mind and play around.
-2 -
Should be for everything too on both sides. You shouldn't be locker hopping when trying to vault and killers shouldn't be picking up when trying to pallet break/locker open or vaulting when trying to pickup. It's not like we are running low on bindable buttons for controller and especially keyboard to have different buttons bound for specific things.
1 -
Is there not a change binding on console? Because I've always thought it would be avaliable for Console and PC.
