For Mettle to work you have to be injured

I don't think it's the case. If you have it active it would tank any hit that would make you go into dying state

Can we get some more info on the scenario? How much time was left on Haunted? Because if it was anything less than ~14 seconds, Vigil could have meant that they were no longer exposed.

Did the survivor become injured? Or deep wounded?
Because there are times where hit registration is sketchy. For example, the killer seeing the blood splatter effect even though the game doesn't register that the hit actually landed.
It's not impossible, just unlikely.

• Once activated, the next instance of damage that would put you into the dying state is ignored. So mettle of man does work it dont matter if u are injured it triggers off being but into the dying state good day

Could either be Vigil reducing the Exposed time or something like Off the Record endurance tanking it.
Mettle of Man does not work against instadowns if you are healthy (even though Endurance does). It specifically has a requirement that you have to be injured for it to work. I think it's silly that it works this way and it should be changed to block an instadown while healthy (and just injure you instead), but yeah.

If you have their stream VOD you can check, if not check their perks. My guess if they are legit is they had Off the Record and got healed by someone else.
Alternatively, if them or a teammate had Vigil the exposed status effect would disappear faster, allowing them to not go down even without endurance.

Any Endurance status effect will prevent you from going down if you have it, no matter the healthstate unless you're getting grabbed.

UPDATE: He cut the stream shorts before the trial so we cant have his pov on the whole game, there was a already banned cheater on his chat BUT the hooked sable had vigil wich could have cut the haunted grounds effect on laurie.
Since he deleted his live vod just before this game started we wont know what really happened, to be fair i dont think HE was cheating when accounting for the overall things. The streamer was remote playing his ps5 on pc so 0 chance anything was happening on his side.
as we all know cheaters can "control" other survivors animations and statuses, so it could have been anyone on the swf, mettle of man had no charges at the time.

Off the Record can tank hit like this even if survivor is in the healthy state as long as they haven't done conspicuous action during 80s timer.
