Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Bro I like this killer but my God I mean this when I say this ######### THE AI FOR THIS DOG! Its SOOOO infuriating playing and the dog doesn't want to go where you want it to, it takes forever to try and point to get him to go somewhere specifically. Houndmaster feels MISERABLE to play at times. Like I can't even use my power cause the dog gets stuck in a bush somehwere or around the corner like come on man

I feel ya. I’m P67 with her. I really enjoy this character a lot, but she is very frustrating. The dog does get stuck a lot, especially when you jump off high ledges. The dog will stay up on the ledge.

The good thing is at least will eventually teleport back down, but it takes time for that to happen and you still have to wait for your cooldown.

As you said the pointing for her search ability doesn’t work that well. It’s definitely clunky. A lot of people have been saying this, but search ability definitely needs a buff.

The time it takes for the dog to vault over a pallet or a window was nerfed a little too hard. I could be wrong, but it’s like 0.67 seconds if they reduced it to 0.57 seconds it would feel a bit better.

I hope in the near future, they will do some fixes with her in addition to some quality of life changes for her and if they have time, hopefully some add-on adjustments. It’s already been six or seven months since they said they were going to fix that one add-on that is completely useless now where if you get a hit after a dog grab, it reduces your basic attack.

These are just my thoughts though. Sidenote, I would love more cosmetics for her, especially being able to choose from different dogs. I want more dog options 🥰

The search thing is supper bad it works 1 in 6 times as intended and hounds charge attack, he still gets stuck on tree roots like zombies.

It's a real tragedy that such an interesting killer had the misfortune to appear at the end of the year with competition from licensed DLCs. Houndmaster simply has no chance to get attention. There are too many more priority targets in DBD. Sales of licensed DLCs and reworking of Skull Merchant.

It reminds me of the fate of Twins that came out at the end of the year. A hard fate, waiting for reworking for several years, 2.5 players so effective that Twins requires a nerf and very great efforts of the developers to make it so that now it is physically unpleasant for me to play Twins. I loved Twins.

Luckily for me, Houndmaster is still enjoyable to play despite the bugs and inconvenient controls. I am writing all this under the impression that I was once again unable to launch the dog into a pallet at a short distance, since the dog got stuck in the obstacle, and did not follow the designated route.

Yeah I really don't want Houndmaster to be forgotten about by any means. I certainly dont want to wait years either.

I also want Houndmaster to get some love and attention. The facts say otherwise. It's like you mentioned skins.

What have we gotten in terms of skins since Houndmaster's release? I'm looking at it in comparison to other killers.

Dredge free Masquerade and Winter skins.
Unknown free Masquerade skin and archived skin.
Singularity 2-3 skins in the archive.

Houndmaster Masquerade mask and Blood Moon skin that we'll see in a year, who just tried to squeeze money out of us. While Dredge and Unknown got their event skins or like Singularity archived skin.

If we're being fair, the Trapper skin should have been sold for money and the Houndmaster skin should have been free. Maybe it even helped Houndmaster a little. I feel the same way about Taurie Cain, who survived, she was also unlucky. Although my indignation with the survivor is softened by the fact that it was Vittorio Toscano, and not another Feng Min. May Feng Min fans forgive me.

We were even deprived of 5 seconds of Blocks the Exit Gates. While Cenobite continues to delay everything for 5 seconds. By the way, this also had its advantage - you could punish inattentive survivors. 1.5 seconds you have to press the spacebar very hard so that the survivors do not run away.

The pull cycles need to be stronger. They barely even tug on the survivor. Its easy to move away with the dog.

So that's why the dog keeps pulling the survivor into the pallet and doesn't move him a millimeter away from the open gate. After all, when playing as a survivor, you can't check it on yourself, since I've only seen Houndmaster live in release. If I was very lucky during the first work on the bugs. I'm not exactly sure. I have a much better chance from the survivor's side to understand how Ghoul, Dracula and Lich work, since I've seen all three periodically.
