Why nerf Batteries Included? It was a Niche perk...
The devs nerfed the perk back to 5%... It was a perk that nobody used and was only used in niche builds. This is why I was in favor of the Haste stacking changes. And they also nerfed Unbound which was a perk that actually became decent, and now it's back to being obsolete.

it's just crazy to nerf such a perk

Streamers that have partnership with BHV got early access to the DLC, I saw the nerf from them.
2 -
Have you considered it being just a visual bug? It's not the release build and stuff like errors in descriptions are very common anyway.
-1 -
Yes, I already found it, so I changed the comment
In any case, batteries nerf it's the same as if bhvr nerf territorial imperative or human greed, just why?-1 -
After all those years nothing from bhvr can suprise me, not even nerfs and changes like that.

It's amazing how a mere 2% made all the difference for Batteries Included isn't it? Same with Fire Up, which rested in the trash bin until it got a 2% buff and actually became useful without becoming overpowered, and like Batteries, also requires survivors to complete generators for it to function. Batteries is very niche, and for a short time, actually something worth putting in builds, and now they're throwing it back in the trash bin, just when killers were starting to like it? sigh… It wasn't even Over Powered by itself, and the only way it became close to OP was when you stacked it with more perks/add-ons, but it made building with that synergy in mind worthwhile.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted… back to the meta builds I suppose…

probably because tru3 was using it with legion and having fun

It's not a straight nerf. It's 5% Haste but now activates within 16 meters of the generator instead of 12 meters.
-4 -
That blows... I was actually seeing some videos with ppl actually using Unbound. How exactly did they nerf it?
-1 -
this 👆they made it easier to get the haste value while reducing the haste bonus itself, you’ll be under its effects more often now.

Friendly reminder it took them 7 months to nerf Made for This. Nerf Batteries Included tho

I don't understand why BHVR seem to sneak in nerfs to perks like this outside of the PTB which is supposed to be the playerbase's forum for giving feedback on upcoming changes
So is unbound back to 5% now?
2 -
Where are you guys seeing this?
-1 -
Not surprised at all, seeing what killer perks we got last years, it's obvious that devs completely forgot how worthy killer perk looks like. Probably completely different team works on this stuff right now, otherwise I can't explain how Hex: Blood Favour and Hex: Nothing but Misery can exist in one game. It's just one little example out of millions.

Some content creators had an early access stream of the new chapter earlier today, I saw it on one of their livestreams.
- Range increased from 12 meters to 16 meters
- Haste reduced from 7% to 5%

Thanks :)

I sure hope it's a visual bug because otherwise it's just plain dumb. Why remove haste stacking if you're also not going to make haste perks better, but in fact… nerf them on top of it?
That defeats the entire purpose. The whole point is you remove haste stacking but make haste perks better individually.

Didn't they change their mind on preventing haste stacking? What i dont get is that they acknowledge excessive haste is a problem, but then they continue to allow haste stacking, and then also buff several haste perks on top of that making the haste stacking problem even worse.

You've brought up some good points about Batteries Included in this thread. The simple answer here is that after buffing it alongside Steady Pulse, the team noticed that the increased burst of speed had become a little too oppressive, given how easy it was to trigger and how long it would stay active.
While we are bringing the Haste % back in line with it's pre-Steady Pulse value, we still want to explore ways of making this Haste valuable to you. By increasing the radius at which this effect will trigger around a completed gen, it should offer more flexibility in how you path your chases and make it easier to get that burst of speed. Of course, it's something we'll be watching closely over the coming days and weeks!
As for your question about why this wasn't tested on the PTB, it was unfortunately a case of timelines not always lining up. A few perk changes were made slightly later in the update cycle and weren't able to make it into the PTB build. As mentioned above, we're always monitoring for feedback we can bring back to the team, so we'll be keeping a close eye on these perks as folks go hands-on with them tomorrow!

really looking forward to those perks changes tomorrow. I've been waiting for those Empathic Connection buffs for a long, long time.

So its not just a nerf. They buffed another aspect of it. Seems fine to me.

Yeah, Batteries was one of the perks I actually used are one of those perks that will forever be in balancing hell. Without haste stacking, 7% is really good, but not going to be common due to other haste effects exceeding 7% quite quickly (and Clown would literally have 0 use on ANY haste perk because he can just throw a bottle and be at 10%). But with stacking, 7% is problematic with other haste perks.
Personally, I would make Batteries 5%, but increase the range to 16 meters, and increase the duration of any timed haste effect by 5-10 seconds after its gone. Which may not sound like much, but that would include 18% haste from Agitation after hooking a survivor.0 -
You could make the haste based on the progress on the gen in range (0-100% progress = 0-5% haste). Then it would have some early game value and you would still have the 5%. My problem of the perk currently is that it gives you nothing in the early game and you normally don‘t want to go to finished generators.

It’s objectively a nerf, because it was giving too many “free hits”. Some streamers were using it in their winstreak builds.
-3 -
If it's getting a rangebuff, i see the batteries changes as completely fine. It means it'll kick in abit sooner, which would probably result in getting hits you would've gotten with the 7% version anyway while getting benefit in cases you mightve been abit too far away in other times.
-2 -
That's a shame, though if it's in exchange for a radius increase then i think it's okay. I'll still use it, its beneficial in late game when (smart) survivors lead you away from incomplete gens.
-1 -
Unbound back to 5%?
-1 -
When BHVR says a perk is being changed because it was too oppressive, it should be understood that the new version is supposed to be weaker.
It feels like whenever BHVR buffs and nerfs something at the same time, a lot of people just aren't able to figure out if it's an overall buff or nerf, and just says 1 buff + 1 nerf = side grade.
-2 -
I suppose if the choice is having haste perks tuned down vs having haste stacking removed completely - I can understand the logic behind it
Though, if unbound was put back to 5% instead of something slightly stronger like 7/8% then I think that's a mistake. Unbound was mostly used on m1 killers who struggle quite a lot.
1 -
Personally, as a Battery's Included enjoyer, I dont even think that's a bad change tbh.
The increase range just makes it a more consistent perk, especially during the endgame, and provides further incentive to leave Generator spreads to take chases.
7% was nice, but 5% is still good enough for me to use it, and it still stacks with other perks pretty well. Unironically I think people are doomposting over nothing here.

Oppressive how if no one was actually using the perk?
Or was this perk somehow making its way into the top 10?
-2 -
Will we ever see nerfs to perks like balanced landing, sprint burst, and lithe for the same reason? Considering they are easier to trigger and provide even more speed to survivors than Batteries Included did?
-1 -
I think the nerf was unnecessary - it'll mostly be used by weaker m1 killers who need the help than more oppresive killers who already have good map pressure. Even at that, I doubt at 7% it'll be widely used by the majority in favour of gen regression.
