Does MMR not decay over time?
So I haven’t really played the game since Vecna came out last year, but I’m getting back into it now with all the new killers and springtrap etc. I’ve been playing for a few days here and there.
As you can imagine I’m as rusty as one can be. Survivor lobbies have been okay because I don’t play survivor too often. Killer lobbies though have been awful.
I’ve been getting really sweaty survivors. swfs and all I expect but I’m just losing constantly because they’re all really sweaty with the new meta perks and stuff. Toxic that’s fine I don’t mind them being toxic it’s expected. I just feel I’m nowhere near the level of the games I’m getting though. Like there’s games I don’t get a single down.
So I’m just wondering does the game still hold me in the system as where I used to be when I was a big player killer main? Or have I rusted that bad even what’s considered bad or newer players are stomping me? They don’t feel new.

It is supposed to decay a bit but i don't believe to the point where you'd get new/baby survivors. You're still gonna face opponents with some experience, as you yourself still carry some experience despite your break.
We are supposed to be getting SBMM improvements at some point soon so hopefully they look at tightening the matchmaking up. It definitely needs it.

that’s fair, I don’t expect new players because I still have some knowledge of course even if I’m not playing great I know what perks to bring mostly. I agree being with new players would be unfair as well. Just has me feeling like okay this is a bit much you know? Hahaha

"Decay" is probably the wrong word. If you've taken an extended break then your MMR isn't set to any particular bracket anymore. You kind of float for a couple of games before you settle (likely in a lower bracket than before). That's how it's supposed to work anyway.

Yeah, understandable. If you're repeatedly getting steamrolled then it sounds like it's not working as it should be (but that's not really unusual lol the system definitely needs work)
