Excessive Ragequitters

Very rarely have I seen a game, as survivor or killer, where some jackass doesn't ragequit the first time they are downed. This is ruining the community and the fun of the game. Literally just lost a match against a rank 17 Leatherface with 2 perks because two people rage quit as soon as they were downed.

Can we please start taking ragequitters seriously? Keep them out of the game, or you risk losing all the people who still (or more likely, used to) enjoy this game.

I agree. I don't even care about ranks, I just play for fun/trophies. But the constant d/cers for survivors and even killers rage quitting if they can't get people is ridiculous. There's been multiple times this month I gave up and switched games after like 2-3 rounds because people keep quitting. It's even worse with the new ranking system they added (which I strongly dislike)

I would like to see a dual-penalty system. I would do:

    1) Certain amount of disconnects in a time period (say 2 d/cs in an hour as an example) - 10 minute queue ban. If you keep d/cing, the queue ban keeps increasing. Similar to Gears of War system.

    &

    2) Bloodpoint penalty - X number of future completed games do not receive bloodpoints (Quit the game: Next game no blood points - game has to be completed to remove the penalty).

Maybe with dedicated servers in summer.... if we are lucky....

Just gotta hope that at least half of the community doesnt uninstall until summer

Perhaps this can be balanced with blood point penalties or, even better, brief delays / some sort of exhaustion for actions that cause rage quitting.... like "tunneling" or camping... Something that could affect your overall performance / ability to win (acknowledging that if you have skill, then you just have skill ;) ). For me the best game experience is a bit of cat and mouse with the killer - chase me, stab me, let me pretend I'm winning (while you try to play all the survivors).... as opposed to a systematic one-by-one, chase-til-they're-dead-&-guard-them, immediate kill of each survivor. (games are not for torturing others with your emotional issues - :P ). I don't have to win, but I'll sure as heck try! ... at the same time I'm very easy going = so if anyone asks you if a pickle ever gave you money, the answer is that you've received at least 2 cents.

Rage quit killers is a whole other issue.

    Suggestions:

If you disconnect your character is left as AFK in the game. You can't use that character again until the match is ended.

Disconnect a second time in an hour and you are locked out of playing the faction you disconnected as (killer or survivor) for a whole hour.

Four dc's in a day and you're out of the game for 48 hours. No mercy. No whining.

Let’s take it a step further. Disconnected players should leave behind a dummy “bot” character that just stands there.

The killer can still earn points for downing/hooking. Survivors can still earn points for unhooking/healing. The bot is programmed to do one thing and one thing only, and that is struggle on the hook until the bitter end.

Perhaps make sparkly black “entity smoke” emanate from the character so that all players know at first glance that there’s nobody home.

In regards to perks like Huntress Lullaby and Devour Hope, only the first hooking should count toward those. Otherwise killers would farm power from players who have already been bad teammates and hindered the other survivors by leaving.

Overall, this gives rage-quitters no reason to disconnect while being carried just to spite the killer and rob him of bloodpoints and “hooking events” for perks. If they can’t be jerks, they’ll probably just suffer through it and hope for a rescue like they should.

Not sure why that middle paragraph is bold. I didn’t tell it be bold. Strange.......

The game in current state is plain frustrating.

As survivor you don't connect to game, someone doesn't connect or person found first DCs.

As killer you chase survivor only so they can jump through already blocked window (even with bamboozle).

I am done, time to go back to Starcraft.
