MM and Rank Solutions?

It's well felt by now that new MM system as well as the emblem changes for the ranking system aren't good for most.

So, to be as straight forward as I can, here are my solutions;

Que times and rank are directly related in this game. You want to fix que times, perhaps ranking up shouldn't be so difficult on either side because most players of DBD are casual players while serious players are few. If few can rank up, que times will most likely take longer the higher the rank anyone goes as well increase the odds of being paired with off ranked players. On top of that, the chances of you getting the exact same players to play against/with will also be high. If you want to give high rank a high threshold, the only rank that should have that is rank 1 and not rank 4 - 1 in my opinion.

If you want to change how we play this game with the emblems, perhaps adding a live emblem scoring event that is displayed to the player for anytime they gain or lose an emblem during a match might help. This is pretty much how it was when points determined you rank back in the day, so why can't it be a thing for emblems too? Based on my own observations, very few have changed how they play with this new emblem update. Killers still camp and survivors will still try to run a killer for as many gens possible. Rank is clearly only an afterthought for most. If their progress for ranking up was displayed to them live, perhaps they will start to think more about how they play?

These are my thoughts. What do you all think would help?

Ranking up is finally... ranking up man. The more you reach the red ranks the gamplay IMPROVES. holy #########. bad players FINALLY can't pip anymore into the high ranks thank god Im free from them.

The more you are in the red ranks the more your team saves you, can hit great skill checks, they are doing something helpful! And do not urban evade in nowhere and run away with the most useless exhaustion perk sprint burst. I'm very glad the devs fixed that.

The only problem I see is if the game becomes unplayable for both sides. for ex. you start the game with 3 survivors and 4 gens and 1 guy dc's. Or you start the game with 4 survivors and 5 gens and someone instandly dc's. Dbd need some mechanics to see how many emblems can gained in total, how many survivors are left and so on. So the game see "oh okay, you hadnt any chance to receive enough emblems to black pip" And when you come to the post game and you didnt black pip the game gives you enough emblems to do so.

but yea matchmaking is broken but this isnt about ranking up.

Improving the gameplay? I'd like to think that raising the bar would do this as well. But from what I have witnessed thus far, I have seen a lot of players just no longer caring and not really playing anymore because they are good players who are being down ranked or not ranking up at all. Anyways, whether you believe it's about ranking up or not, the matchmaking and the frequency of people ranking up are related and affect each other.

And yes, when it comes to dc's from either a teammate or the killer early in the game, it would be nice if there was a compensation for the players remaining. However, I am sure the penalty of taking away the ability to rank up(at least in the high ranks) when someone dc's is to discourage rage quitting. Because now when you do dc(or even suicide on your first hook), you are now causing everyone in the match to suffer rank wise.

Random players do not usually care if their DC causes someone else to de-pip or not pip at all. In a SWF, that might be a different story. But if Behavior thought this new emblem system would prevent randoms from DCing due to some online gaming altruism toward their fellow randoms, then Behavior is as naive about the average online gamer than even Blizzard was concerning things in Overwatch. And that's saying something.

Yes, I know. Solo quers won't care either way. And for certain, killer's won't care about afflicting their victim's rank. In fact they might enjoy it lol. So, the breaking of moral among players is stirred. And I have already noticed the return of the hook farming of teammates. They can't rank up anymore, so BP's is all they have left. That additional 500 BP's for safe unhook means nothing to them when they run WGLF.

And why is that? Because there is not a single reason for ranking up.

I dont know what happened to the seasonal rewards promised on the 2018 roadmap, you better ask that question to BHVR

Yeah, there certainly isn't a reason to rank up now lol. Unless you still don't have your high rank achievements and you want them.

The current system isn't improving the gameplay. It is just making everyone be responsible for everyone else's play experience. This game isn't exactly a showcase of amazing skill and technique, but people always try to treat it like it is. You can hit the skill ceiling for the game on both sides pretty quick if you just play the game semi seriously.

Also while you're happy to be away from "bad players", the game is experiencing a decline in both old and new players due to how the systems scoring a matchmaking are affecting the game. New players and casual players are getting hit with huge queue times and when they do get a game the disparity in ranks can be so extreme that it isn't enjoyable for either side. Players with thousands of hours in the game are even saying that the new scoring system isn't working. These are players with so much time on the game they have reached the end of possible skill refinement in the game. The new system is slaughtering efficient play in favor making players artificially just do more things to level up.

Hopefully, dedicated servers with backend matchmaking adjustments will at least help with keeping the ranks separated more effectively. As for the emblem system and ranking up? I think they should go back to the drawing board and find a solution that gives everyone a equal chance to level. Right now you can't even reliable safety pip and so much of the game's scoring is dependent on things people have no control over. Not to mention the system currently acts as a punishment/harassment tool since it have given a ton of power to people who like to disconnect mid match when they can't have their way on both survivor and killer sides. You can easily get deranked and trapped at your lowest rank cause you can't tell who frequently disconnects and you're more likely to see people like that at lower ranks. There are just so many problems I could talk about in relation to just that aspect alone.

One other idea is to reset everyones rank back to 20 when they make big emblem changes rather than think everything should level out normally with a reset.

That way the skilled players will climb together rather than stirring everyone up in mucky water and wait for it to settle. Then they can get a better reading on how each sides skill compares to the other side and make any minor adjustments as needed.

You have said the smartest thing ever about this issue. I tip my hat to you. Seriously, that is a damn good idea cause this whole mess shredded everything across the board.
