How is sprintrap strong?
So i have been playing springtrap for a little bit now and i dont understand how people think hes like an A tier killer. Its probably just a skill issue i know but for me he feels pretty weak.
The stealth on him doesnt feel very strong since his steps are so loud.
The doors usually dont spawn in very good spots making them not the greatest teleport power (still useful especially in the start of the game).
For the axe the detecrtion part feels a bit useless unless you have the foxy hook add-on. The axe also doesnt feel very strong since you only have 1. You cant really make snipes with the axe since the survivors then gain a lot of distance while youre forced into a basic m1 killer. Even when hitting the axe close youre still a m1 killer or you need to wait the 10 second (?) cooldown on the axe for a chance at downing the survivor.
Theres also the security doors for survivors. From my experience the survivors almost never seem to use them since theyre high risk kinda low reward.
From my experience he feels like he has alot of things (stealth, teleport, range) that he does badly. Dont understand me wrong i have had a lot of fun facing and playing him but i just cant see him as strong. Most of my matches playing as and against him have ended in 0-2 kills. So i would like to know some tips on how to play him well since i cant seem to do well on him.

I've been playing him a bit and I made a similar observation although I do think he contends for A or B tier. It is possible to get snipes, like once I sniped and downed a meg while in chase, basically making the david I was chasing the last survivor but the range wasn't crazy. I find he works best with assistance from a chase perk, so bamboozle mainly, because if you miss the axe you need some kind of anti-loop or you might just lose on the spot. Next you need decent info so you can get utility out of the undetectable, my current favourite is Compass of Rage (jagged compass and floods of rage). Jagged compass provides you with your next stop and floods reveals everybody on the map once an unhook occurs and tells me if survivors are healing on hook. While ST has an addon that achieves basically the same as jagged compass, I like how it synergises with floods but you could replace those two with bbq or just have the addon if you wanted. That's basically the extent of my build which I've found works pretty well however, my last slot is insidious (for the meme stage play). However, you can mix and match whatever perks so long as you have at least one info and one chase perk.
Ultimately, I feel like his main strength is undetectable mixed with map pressure so try to play into those aspects a bit more. Like earlier today, I was struggling in chase, so I teleported away to the next closest door to catch the Ace I was chasing with undetectable when he returned to a gen. He's a jack of all trades, so you need to master whatever aspect is your favourite at the end of the day.

He is not strong, rather on weak side.
Survivors who aren't scared know they can use doors against him and can travel all over the map through them. This means they don't need to run to the next gen by foot - they can use doors as long as they see he is busy chasing someone.
Axe is short range tool and on some loops killer has to get rid of it one way or another due to speed penalty that it does apply. Game encourages you to throw the Axe away as often as possible and recall it only when you are certain that you can land a hit, which is counter-intuitive since normally killers keep their power ready before the attack.
The only reason why some people find him strong is because they don't pay attention to doors near them and get often ambushed by him because he walks with 0 terror radius for some time after exiting any door. Survivors who look around don't have such problem and those who know how to loop enjoy playing against a mediocre killer with a single clunky hatchet and reduced movement speed who has no anti-loop capabilities.
