Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Springtrap's Axe and doors feel weird as a power

So, there's two things I'm confused about this new killer.

First, his "Fire axe"… Doesn't feel fire at all. I don't really see much difference between missing an axe as Springtrap compared to missing an axe as huntress. There's supposed to be an area of effect but being inside it has zero downside, reading killer instinct over such a small area doesn't feel useful at all. There's just one add on that makes use of it but nothing in the basekit. The only use I found from the axe being embed in a wall is checking lockers faster. It feels like some baseline effects is missing. It does give a movement speed boost not to have your axe but you can throw it anywhere to do that, and he's a 4.4 baseline so it just cancels his movement speed nerf rather than give him an actual speed boost. Either way he's not benefitting much from the fire from the axe.

Second, the survivor door interaction feels useless. Compared to dredge, you can lock the lockers, taking a very tiny risk for a huge reward, lockers being closed is a very big deal for the Dredge.
With Springtrap, you take a very big risk looking at cameras for almost no reward, and while teleporting seems nice you still don't see generators so you don't know exactly where to go, unless you have perks, in which case you rarely benefit from teleporting.

As a result, as a survivor I 100% ignore doors and it seems to always be the best strategy, and as Springtrap I almost completely ignore the fire mechanic.

He either needs a Ranged Attack or a Dash Attack, otherwise he would ends up being a bottom 10 killer. Thats just how this game works.

His axe is a worse version of huntress hatchet due to very long cooldown & very punishing, that and ppl treat it like huntress hatchets now, that makes it difficult to hit ppl now unless you completely rng it over walls or a Survivor accidently runs into it

I think we run into the SWF problem again, where a survivor being chased can call out a door number they are by so a teammate can then spy on them with the correct camera and give the one in chase free aura reading for a time.

But out of comms, it's just a disaster waiting to happen for solo queue.

7 gens, 7 doors, coincidence? Every door is next to a gen. It's extremely oppressive and removes any fun value that remained in the game. If this is theme that is going to be kept, the doors need to be further away from the gens, and there needs to be a large cooldown on the killer using the doors. This is Ok with Onyo, as you can remove the tape to disable a TV, and they are further away from gens. There is no such equivalent option with The Animatronic.
