The mainreason why ppl DC
In my opinion the reason why peple disconnect is, cause they can´t take their loss.

Actually about 50% of people who DC lose connection to host

I'm going to be a little bit provocative saying that the main reason are the Devs.

no, the mainreason is: They can´t take their loss.

I think it's more they face a killer that has no counterplay so just decide to jump ship, it's no fun when there's no hope of survival ironically which is counterintuitive to what the Entity wants.

In my opinion, it's more of a loss to dc, as you gain absolutely nothing from it.

Well, since I have a disability physically preventing me from seeing the game -- which results in the loss -- then ya.

Eh.
I dc'ed against a wraith today because as soon as we got into the match, his ping started spiking like crazy. My friend and I both couldn't chase against him as he seemingly teleported to us. Pretty much unplayable. I dc'ed as soon as he teleport hit me again. Looks like a rage quit in his eyes, even though I told him his internet sucked, he blamed us lagging on our internet. Never mind that every other match we didn't lag.
And before that... the last time I dc'ed was a few days ago. Moonwalking Legion. Enough said.
Most of the time I see people DC though is when they get tunneled to #########. Which I absolutely get. I don't blame them for nope'ing the ######### out of the game.

Dcing happens either when:
1) Petty survivors don’t have the stones to get hooked, let alone die
2) Petty killers can’t take a fair and square loss or are a bit jerkish to purposely deny bloody party streamers
3) Nasty survivors made the killer so miserable that the killer thought dcing was worth it
4) The off chance the game or your internet died. However, as a solo survivor and killer, the usual suspects are definitely 1, sometimes 2, and understandably 3.
3 -
Or maybe they don't want to play the same killer 3 times in a row.
Or maybe they don't want to play the same map 3 times in a row.
Or maybe the game just crashed.
Or maybe the killer didn't adjust his lag-switch correctly and accidentally DC'd them.
Or maybe they didnt want to play a mori round 3 times in a row.
Or maybe they don't want to play against a build that results in a 30 minute match for 10k bloodpoints
Or maybe their team mates are griefers/sandbaggers or most likely, just terrible at the game.
Or maybe they are playing with an SWF who only joined to meme.
Or maybe, something IRL just came up and they had to stop playing suddenly.
Why instead of creating a troll post, don't you make a recommendation to deal with a match after a DC in some way. Reward everyone left in the match, reduce gens, offer option to leave the game gracefully etc. etc. etc.
Coming here and just stating a absolutely useless opinion does what exactly? Hopefully, you feel better at the very least.

Finally someone found it out. Thought i was the only one who knows that. Every other "reason" is just a poor excuse.

@Chi To be fair to the wraith, their internet might be good. It might be they live too far away from you to establish a solid connection.
0 -
That is true.. but if you are handed a loss from the beginning without you knowing about it.. wouldn't you be upset too when you figured it out afterwards?
0 -
@pemberley Why would they leave when streamers are used? They'll get double blood points too. My first match with pig, I used a pudding and somebody used a streamer and an envelope. Those end game blood points were amazing.

Nah. Their ping was 50ish. Their internet just sucked.

Because some are kind of jerky like that? It’s happened to me where I put in bps and either the killer will dc or a salty swf who got hit will start a chain dc, which leaves me and the killer in an unpleasant situation. It’s also happened where nasty killers see one or more bps and they purposely go ham on survivors and deny survivors points OR vice versa with nasty survivors denying killer points.
Some players just want to watch the world burn.

Give to them nothing and take from them everything. I've done it when it's just some SWF being a couple of #########. The schadenfreude is better than any amount of bloodpoints I could have had at my own expense.

From my experience, less than 10% of all DCs are actual DCs. Around 80% of DCs happening in my games are definitely intentional ragequits

Yes, there are the occasional moments where people get DC'ed due to high ping, the game crashing or whatever. But the most common reason is that they're butthurt things aren't going their way and, sadly, rage-quitting isn't anything new in the gaming world.
I play both killer and survivor as solo usually without add-ons or items, not like that should really matter regardless, and still run into people DC'ing every other match. It's just going to happen. I would somewhat understand if these were little kids but the majority of these players are grown ass adults who can't take a loss. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

While I agree with this I can see some situations (Very rare ones) where there would be no point to sticking around when you know you're dead. Such as a killer specifically slugging all 4 and they're all on the ground. Yeah the killer earned that but no one wants to stay on the ground doing nothing for the remaining time when they don't get anything out of it.
Although for the most part if someone is on death hook they have no reason to stay unless they really want bloodpoints. If you could instantly leave by normal means as soon as you get hooked a third time I feel as though less people would disconnect. No one wants to sit there having the game rub it in that you just got dumpstered they just want to move on to the next one.
Also personally for me the sacrificed / entity displeased sound effect gives me a headache and if I wasn't able to tab the game to mute the sound when I know I'm going to hear it I'd probably DC a lot too. For the most part though yeah I'd say the majority are sore losers but the last moments of a survivors game can just be boring when you know the outcome.
Clarification - I personally don't DC unless the game loads in a 3v1 or less
tl;dr
*DC'ing could be reduced by making death less of an annoyance
*I don't agree with DC'ing but I can see why someone would outside of being sore losers

Always the same justifying/defending it.
While only playing the stronger side, of course.
That wouldn't be enough cringy otherwise, we don't want that.

If you disconnect, isn’t that a “loss” anyways?
What makes you think everyone cares about a win, or loss in a party game?
0 -
I’ve only hit leave game twice and every other time I’ve lost connection to the host.

That's always been the point, it just became worse when Legion dropped because some Streamers made it look like it was "Okay" to DC against Legion, now people realises they aren't punished for it and DC for whatever reason because nothing will happen to them.
That and the current game state being ######### with infinite loading screens among glitchy matchmaking and it turns current DBD in a shitshow...

When their egos are crushed after they be toxic.

They dc because I'm too good. Badge of honor

I can take fair loss but 8k hours in certain shooter has taught me to not feed rage hackers. They will get bored eventually. That analogy applies to DBD and certain addons and killers.
