Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Block Springtrap Doors

Leaving aside the ridiculousness of free undetectable teleport as BASEKIT, why is he allowed this with NO blocking option from survivors? EVERY teleporting killer, except Nurse, but hers is … game breaking in a different way, has a way to negate the power, if only temporarily. Hag and Puppy can be directly removed, Dredge locked in, Singularity hit with EMP, unknown dispelled, and Saduko has the tapes. But the security doors are a free hit from across the map. We should have a way to disable them, temporarily. Remove battery, for instance, or hit a lock. Killer would know it was hit, like all the others, and actually have to deal with it.

While we are at it, why do they work next to HOOKED SURVIVORS? Along with his axe aura working, this is also uniquely breaking from standard.

They have a different weakness, survivors can use them to transport themselves across the map too, as well as reveal the killers aura to the entire team from across the map.

Yeah, we should also remove the undetectable, and make him slow after exiting the door, maybe also a map wide notification, wait he has one already, so maybe a tp cooldown, 60 seconds each time he uses a door. I am actually distraught at how people are complaining of what essentially is a B tier killer.

To be fair, you cannot block Freddy's teleport to gens (which is good, you shouldn't).

Because it's not fun. It's not fun to have a killer drop on top of you and getting a free hit with no real counter play or warning. That's why. I'm not playing survivor anymore until his doors get nerfed in some way.

But.. unlike the DnD portals, cannot be used when Springtrap gets close, while remaining functional adjacent to hooked survivors, AND granting undetectable to the killer is too unbalancing. Neither of these should be basekit.

But you get notification of the teleport. Even post buff, he has limits on it.

You actually get a notification for Afton's teleport, but it can be impossible to see it depending on your angle.

Big agree about teleporting to hooked survivors. They straight up don't even let Dredge or Artist use their powers next to hooked survs for a reason

THAT is the issue. Now other killers, like Puppy and Saduko, even the non teleporting Wraith, have addons that give silent notifications, or even undetectable until chase. As add-ons, not base kit. I don't have a problem with him having either of these abilities. But giving them as base is too much. Having silent teleport, and undetectable, AND blocking pallets, AND killer instinct before we even touch perks is game breaking.

Yeah, but Freddy has a cooldown even when he cancels his power. Springtrap has no cooldown and can just teleport around the map to check gen after gen after gen with no cooldown. That makes him ridiculously good at holding the final 3 gens even WITHOUT having a 3-gen formation. In other words, even if the gens are far apart, he can treat it as a 3-gen.

I'm not fully sure of what would be the best way of fixing this, but a nice option would be to allow survivors to temporarily block or disable doors, BUT, by doing it, they would risk being grabbed if he teleports at the same time, just like Dredge. It would be a nice way of incentivizing survivors to put themselves in situations where they can get grabbed at a door, just like it happens with Dredge's lockers. Right now there is no reason for survivors not to ignore doors altogether unless they are sure Springtrap is too busy to walk through doors himself, which makes door grabs a bit rare, and it will probably only become less and less frequent as people learn to play against Springtrap, which is a shame. The door jumpscare animation is one of the coolest things about this killer.
