Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Remove Axe (Self) takes priority over unhooking.

This is just another amazing instance of BHVR overlapping keybinds for no reason. Why not just make it right click instead?

99% of the time the Killer will be chasing you while you're trying to remove the axe, so why would you even want to run to the hooked Survivor?

Because there are a lot of times when you're the last one up and you're going to get downed no matter what, so unhooking your teammate becomes the only real shot at keeping the match alive — even if it means trading. It actually happens pretty often.

Also, it's just bad game design to have multiple actions share the same button and override each other. One-button interactions really mess things up in clutch situations.

DbD has a lot of annoying instances of the wrong action taking priority. In this case, does it take precedence but if you push yourself against the hooked survivor you can get the save (like with being injured while running Self Care), or does it completely disable the ability to hook save? If it's the latter, it might be on purpose because hook grabs were removed but Springtrap can grab the axe, making for a possibly buggy situation. (I'm just speculating.)

But damn, I really wish BHVR would fix action priorities. Unhooking and Self Care. Unlocking the hatch and Self Care. Escaping through the hatch and recovering in the dying state. It's beyond frustrating when those things get me killed.

Does it? haven't noticed. Maybe a bug. I'm more into his add ons being bit off with rarity. Why Wraith iri add on is same as his blue add on? Why +50 % undetectable is green? Like what?

There's no "keeping the match alive" at that point. If you unhook your teammate and get downed in the process, that teammate is just going to get chased and downed again.

It's mainly when he's camping hook, if he hits you with the axe you can't unhook. It can also make healing very hard, making trying to pick someone who's slugged up nearly impossible. Had an issue where I got 2 people to 99 got hit with axe, and instead of being able to finish the heal started trying to remove the axe.

Yeah, your options can be limited after that but I don’t see how that justifies the issue. It’s still bad game design to have one interaction override another just because everything is tied to a single button. That’s not a valid excuse.😉

It’s like saying you shouldn’t be allowed to choose when to mend and should always be forced to mend first instead of interacting with what’s right in front of you. It should be the player’s choice — 'losing anyway' doesn’t justify taking that control away.🙂

While I dont think this point invalidates this issue...

I really wish more survivors understood this xD

One button for everything strikes again. It's why I never ran self-healing perks until Strength In Shadows.

I know there are definitely bad cases of overlapping action buttons, but I don't think this is one of them.

One example of the "bad cases" would be mending and snapping out of it against Doctor. The game would prioritize snapping out of it, and then your deep wound timer would decrease and put you in the dying state before you could finish snapping out of it. Idk if they ever fixed that...

As much as its annoying, im pretty sure this feature is intended, similar to Victor making you incapacitated and thus preventing actions entirely. At least with ST's axe you can do gens and heal, forcing him to reclaim the axe manually, which removes his chase power
