Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

A beach-themed map

Imagine you load into a trial to a totally different environment that you have not seen before. Waves from the ocean undulate and lap upon the sands. It almost seems like a familiar spot you might have taken a vacation to, but the environment is ominous and foggy.

You appear to be in a cove, surrounded on three sides by steep cliff walls. Palm trees, umbrellas, relaxers, surfing gear, and vendor stands dot the beach area. Standing in the center of it all is a large, thatched-roof cabana which features a defunct serving bar and a clutter of dilapidated furniture. Also somewhere on the beach is a set of changing rooms.

You can run in the shallow water, which slows you down a bit and makes more noise. This area features tide pools which you might want to avoid and large rocks that still jut up from the rocky surface. The rocks are particularly numerous as you approach the cliff faces.

Also extending out into the oceans is a wharf area. It meanders and loops around, and there are various boats attached to it. Some boats you can actually step onto, and they typically connect to other boats. Various barrels, crates, and fishing gear line the surface of the docks, and sometimes are inconveniently placed and get in the way. Somewhere on the wharf is also a shack. This used to be a place to buy fishing and boat supplies. Now, there's about a 50/50 chance that it will be a place for dark sacrifices to an unknown entity.

Exit gates can be found at all edges of the map. Some are like gates that simply penetrate the cliffs, leaving this cursed area behind via a treacherous road. Sometimes the gates appear on the wharf itself, and once they have been open, the boardwalk keeps going and going and going into the mysterious fog beyond.

Just a quick MS paint map. If the dbd art team actually decides to do something like this, I am sure there will be 100x more random objects strewn about the map.
