The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

Did i cheat?

Scenario:

Me, Killer Doctor. SWF in my game, but not a needed variable for the scenario.

Hatch standoff. Using my Rapid Fire Mouse (Speedlink DECUS SL-6397-BKBK) in shock mode so i spam the M1. Survivor try a jump - instant grab cause M1 Spam.

Result: Afterchat was full of lagswitch and speedhack blames. All 4 Friends reported me for speedhack they said.

In my opinion i did nothing wrong. There is no rule i know which forbids using my hardware and i dont need to get away from hatch. The game gives me the machanic so i use it.

I don't think so, people uses macro in DBD, some do it to gen tap and others to spam flashlights so....

Macro's are against the rules so since you're using an outside program in this case a macro to automate a game function.

I don't remember where the quote is but the devs/mods stated that the use of macro's is against the rules and considered cheating. This was in relation to a flashlight spam macro discussion.

Macros are indeed bannable, but still unlikely you willget banned.

What I dont understand however is how you can macro M1 hits, there is a cd after every attack where the survivor can jump in and you cant change that with a macro

You'll get banned if EAC sees some marco software running... but if you are using your mouse or keyboard driver to do the marcoing....

    GL EAC.

    FBI OPEN UP!!!!1!!!!!!11!!!!!

But in all seriousness, they just sound kinda salty. Besides using a different mouse, that can M1 really fast isn't bannable. However if it's some sort of Macro then yes, EAC can ban you

The game technically can identify a macro due to the pattern a macro has, just fyi

There's also an exploit where you can charge up to 50% or just above it and swap to punishment and the charge has already passed the point of going off. So the charge goes off and shocks them while you're in punishment mode allowing for the dual move.

There was something like that back in WOW where you could cast Ice Lance and Frost bolt at the exact same time.

As far as I know macros aren't bannable, unless you use certain macros to destroy the gameplay (flashlight macro with high rate to DC everyone).

I use wiggle and struggle macros for a long time now, nothing happened to me nor to anyone else I know who used them.

Your specific scenario is just a QoL macro like mine, so you should be fine.

    Hello,

Regarding macros - we reserve the right to enforce the EULA as we see fit, macros included as stated in the EULA (https://store.steampowered.com/eula/381210_eula_0):

Use or distribute “auto” software programs, “macro” software programs or other “cheat utility” software program or applications.

You are also running the risk of EAC detecting macro software running and issuing a ban to your account.

The scenario you've described is not something we deem punishable (speedhacking and lagswitching are, however).

I use a macro so I dont have to mash keys like when I'm struggling and wiggling

Do you think BHVR could just Whitelist certain macro softwares like from razer, AHK etc so players can use QoL macros (wiggle, struggle) without to worry about EAC false flagging? I mean, this shouldn't be such a big deal or not?

I too use the macro funktion of my keyboard driver for wiggle and struggle macros.

Both are boring and annoying at the same time. Also, i already use up one keyboard where the space key wouldn´t funktion anymore.

Maybe that are funktions the devs might either update or just allow macros for.

If such macros are still considered cheating, let me now plz, and i wont use them anymore. But at the moment i don´t consider my keyboard driver to fall under the mentioned categories

@Peanits Would it be possible to have a wiggle/struggle macro implemented that could be keybinded/button binded? That way there's be no more fingers slipping on space bar etc and also less wear and tear and broken parts.
