Just WHY is Springtrap's footsteps SO LOUD??
Why is his footsteps so freaking loud to the point that Survivors can exactly pinpoint your position DURING chase? It's basically impossible to mindgame Survivors at high wall loops as long as they have ears LOL.
If that's the trade-off for his undetectable on exiting doors, it'll be better to just REMOVE it and make him quieter, then I can finally bring Undetectable perks LOL

Due to how sound occlusion works in dead by daylight, this is just wrong. It's really not easy to pinpoint a location based on footsteps. Based on terror radius? Now that's more plausible, but doable with any non-stealth-chase killer.
But I believe they might just see your big ears above the wall. Springtrap is REALLY huge.-2 -
I can understand why the steps are extremely very loud, because he's a stealfh and ranged killer, but that's horrible when you're not stealfh, they have wallhack of you in any loop, I don't think that's fair to be honest, either leave the footsteps loud only when he's undetectable or fix his footsteps

No I've played much more Survivors before actually buying and playing him, and I've definitely used that footsteps to mindgame him, and it works pretty well.

Funny enough there are many people here in the forum who think they are not loud enough/hard to hear. Like we have a dredge 1.0 level of sound cues yet people cannot be bothered to play with audio on.

Then I need whichever headset you're using because we're not playing the same game.
Whether I'm playing surv/killer, I find it impossible to pinpoint people's locations if there are walls. Primarily because DBD is a spaghetti-coded game.-3 -
You're finding movement hard to track based on the sounds of footsteps? Because then I do really think you need a better headset. And I really mean that without trying to snarky.

Immersion. Springtrap is a big and heavy animatronic, obviously he will not be quiet. And in fact, if you played or looked at some of the FNAF-games, the animatronics are pretty loud.
And given that the creator of FNAF was very involved in the DBD-adaptation, it is not unlikely that this is how Springtrap is supposed to sound.
(And I dont really understand why these discussions comes up so often. We had discussions why Demogorgon or Nemesis are loud as well… I mean, look at them)

Are we really talking about immersion of all things, when Springtrap's scream doesn't match FNAF-games at all? Not to mention he's using a fireaxe that's completely fan-made.
On the other hand, are you okay with its skin 'Glitchtrap' have much quieter footsteps because of immersion?

Ranged stealth killer with silent teleport
But don't worry, they made a p2w skin that massively reduces footstep audio.

I think the loudness becomes an issue when a (substantial) part of the killer's design is stealth. Imagine Ghostface's footsteps leaving tiny craters wherever he goes - Springtrap really is that loud. Maybe it's accurate to the lore (with which I am not familiar), but gameplay-wise, it seems like a pretty big hindrance, both for Demo and Springtrap.

Do you have a better idea? I am all ears. Or do you just want to rant again?
When it comes to Glitchtrap - there is a huge difference between the Killer being loud and a skin being loud/quiet. Because then we get into the P2W-allegations and it would not really make sense for BHVR to fuel them. But I dont really know anything about Glitchtrap in the FNAF-Lore.

IMO a good idea for things like this is to make footsteps quiet while being Undetectable due to the Killer Power. I have been saying this since people complained about Demo that he should just have quiet footsteps when coming out of the portal. (Obviously this should only count for Undetectable due to a Killer power, everytime when those Killers are Undetectable would be too much)
I am not sure how much sense this makes for Springtrap tho, since his Undetectable is a lot more frequent than Demos.

Yes, I really mean it. And yes, I do need a new headset if you guys can track footsteps accurately.

That idea makes sense! I don't really know what else to say, wish they'd add it.

It'll help you massively, having a good headset will even allow you to hear breathing, walking, grass moving, stuff like that. If you're on a budget, try the Logitech G432? Or the G Pro X, if you're looking for wireless?
