Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why did Springtrap not get killswitched???

Really great being unable to tell whose simply trying to enjoy the new killer and whose simply taking advantage of his invisibility bug. I know it's already been addressed and it's being fixed but why did they not killswitch him until the fixes come? Twins got killswitched on release day because of the bugs that they had, so why didn't Springtrap get the same treatment? Make it make sense.

Fun fact: killswitch didn't even exist when twins realesed, so it stayed like this for a long time, and come on, it's not like this invisibility bug makes him always win, it's one of the smallest bugs in it honestly

the bug is driving me nuts! the doors are RIGHT at gens and he gets a free hit every time, especially if the door is facing the gen. the door doesn't even open for me, he literally just appears. he's invisible for a second or two, and grabs me off gen/gets one hit if i realize the door 'opened' it's very frustrating.

Because money. If they're not going to killswitch a pay-to-win skin they just released, there's no way they'll killswitch the bugged-out killer, either.

I vividly remember her being disabled the day she released. Might not have been called a killswitch at that point but I definitely recall it happening. Also the invisibility is definitely not the smallest bug in this chapter, calling it so is just laughable.

The invisibility only lasts for 1 second and I can still hear him coming out of the door, unless you're playing in the living room without a headset on your console, really, but this bug is really harmless

I wouldn't call it harmless but tbh it does feel like the bug is being blown out of proportion. Springtrap is meant to be a killer that has you always tracking his whereabouts and checking your corners. He can be hard to react to, but I feel both playing as him and against him that he isn't reaching the upper echelon of the killer casts abilities in any way. There are killers better at range than him, killers with more immediate and longer lasting stealth than him, killers with better and more reliable map mobility than him.

Even in the buggy state he's currently in, I wouldn't say he's problematic gameplay wise (not mentioning the audio bug but I think that's been patched??)

The door not opening is bad-I haven’t seen that luckily. I didn’t even know ST being invisible was a bug until yesterday. I thought that was intended. When you’re on a gen, look at the door display- if it starts flickering, run. That means ST is going to pop out in like 2 1/2 seconds.

The invisible bug doesn’t bother me- it’s the sound bug for interacting with the doors/looking at cameras that’s really bad. If you get into a chase with a really good Spring Trap, his mind games will work 100% of the time because the spatial sound is off. Also, if he’s approaching you without you having visibility, you won’t know what direction he’s coming from because his loud footsteps will be misleading in the direction they are coming from.

Even if the Killswitch did not exist back then, it was still possible for BHVR to disable things. With the Twins-Release it was mainly the issue that they released shortly before the Holidays, so nobody was working at BHVR to deploy any Bugfixes.

    @Topic:

Money. Simple answer. It would look insanely bad if they would killswitch a Killer on Day 1. Sales of said Killer would drop. And the influx of new players would also not really be there, since they might buy the game to play Springtrap or to play against him, but if they see he is disabled they might never log on again or just outright refund the game. For BHVR it is better that players suffer from Bugs for a week or two than disabling the Killer.

Pro tips: If Springtrap is coming through a door that you can see from the gens, the door panel will flicker for a few seconds before he come out so you can pre-run him. 👍️

Because damn if you do damn if you don't.

Killswitching would be a bigger black eye than letting things be. The popularity and draw of FNAF and the hype the community applied to it gave them no choice but to keep it going.

Yes, BHVR could do better job when it comes to play testing but we are all painfully aware of that.

It seems our oversized bunnyman has few bugs that are quite bad. Yesterday i got hit by one that wasnt even facing me.. yes his butt was towards me and his axe flew to my forehead.

I'm guessing he is throwing bumerangs.

Him being invisible for half a second gets countered by just visibly seeing and hearing the door open, this is far from game breaking

Most of the players are on a console, prolly on that couch across the room from their TV. 😀
