Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Should hatch spawn with only 2 Survivors left?

Hello everyone,

Since the problem with Killers which slug for the 4K is such a big problem I made some mental gymnastics.

If the hatch would spawn if only 2 Survivors are left, the problem should be fixed, but now comes the catch if one survivor escapes through the hatch, the other will be moried instantly.

Ofcourse the hatch couldn´t be closed by the Killer so that a slugged Survivor can escape at all time and the Killer has to hook them.

Personally I think the hatch should spawn when all gens are done.

It can stay locked until only 1 survivor is left making a key actually mean something again & maybe even encourage survivors to try finish gens even when its not going great (yeah okay thats pushing it!)

Problem with your idea (only my opinion yours is valid) we're down to 2, I'm working gens (because thats who I am & how I play.

As it stands now killer, chases me, maybe I get away, maybe I get caught & slugged or killed, maybe they respect I'm still actually playing (a lot do but I have no issue if they kill me either!) Other survivor almost certainly hides even though they can see I'm actively doing gens.

In your case I lose regardless, killer kills me, killer slugs me, killer leaves me but other survivor who has no intention of doing gens jumps in hatch & I get mori for playing the game!

I have no issue with a mori, love a good mori death, & sure there could be 3, 4 even 5 gens left 2 people aren't going to do them all, but at that point the one trying dies or they basically fight each other for the hatch while the killer sits there waiting to mori the loser

But are you working on gens when you are the only one alive?

What would be the difference if you and someone else is chasing for the hatch at the same time?

I am exactly like you don´t get me wrong, I am working on gens even if the odds are bad. But my question is if this would fix the Slugging for the 4k.

I miss good old days of early Hatch escapes. Not 3 survivors escaping when 1 gen left, cause it was too much, but 2 survivors escaping with a key was fine.

Definetly not, that would result basically with last survivor almost always getting hatch unless killer slug for 4k.

I would want it spawn when all gens are finished tho.

Hatch is big rng its like 50/50 one side will find it but then you have another 50/50 situation with gates spawn if gates are far from each other and killer doesnt have power with good mobility or some traps like trapoer, singularity then he is cooked and its more easier escape for survivor if he thinks a little an uses his eyes. Making it spawn when 2 are alive will be guarantee 1 man out and another 50/50 with another survivor this isnt much fair in balance its not even russian roulette situation.

I miss the days multiple people could leap into hatch! That was fun.

Me too, the only change it needed was spawn hatch once all gens are done (or last survivor), keys would still actually do something & while some killers would say its not fair, all gens are completed & they used a key, killer largely failed their objective in the same way as survivors did when killers slug for 4k
