Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Gens are literally flying

Am i the only one that experiences that?

Day 69 (b4 spring trap)
Games good. Getting 4k without problems, sometimes 1 or 2 escapes. No need to use gen slow down. I'll play huntress with aura build like a giga chad i am

Day 420 (during anniversary)
HOLY F… ENTITY. Getting 4 hooks before gates are powered is a miracle. Survivours started to use brain and they split on gens, doesnt heal or anything, they worry bout those things when they escape. No need to use gen regressing perks, they are to slow. End game perks and maybe i will have a chance

Day 2137 (far future)
Survivours now carry gens on their shoulders and repair them in chase. While on hook they fish out items that can help them repair in the future. Pallets are on wheels and they follow survivours. No perks nor meta killers can help.

    Survivors can no longer stealth

I'm actually wondering if BHVR messed up the idle crows. I'm getting teammates who stealth around and do nothing and they never seem to get crows. I bled out for four minutes, my teammate spent the entire match crouching around before that and then continued to crouch around on the opposite side of the map doing nothing while I was on the ground, and the killer never clued in to them being on the opposite side of the map. That's not an isolated case or anything. I see the crows less than I did before BHVR messed with them the first time. Are the idle crows on vacation now or something? What the hell happened?

hi, surv main here. coming from the future, after Day 2137. You would think devs hit rock bottom with ghoul but no, they released bubbles from powerpuff girls and at this point, May 6th of 2031 they have lost a 75% of playerbase, she ended up being the most unfun, corrupt, racist and unbalanced killer they added to the game.

If you are lucky you will get a 19hours queue as killer, and 10 hours as survivor. Me? playing skyrim from a cabbage, hopefully i can play in 2 hours.

I've been taking a commodious toolbox, wire spool and scraps with built to last and hyper focus. It's not a build I usually take, because I hate doing gens. Recently though killers have been tunneling out the first survivor and they quite often leave chase with me, if I'm running them too long. I was hoping rushing the gens would force them to chase me, but still no.

I'd much rather have a full chase build and ignore gens all together, but the games don't allow for that right now.

There are three phases to every event for the past few years:

Phase 1: everyone is trying out the new stuff, messing around. This is the "honeymoon" phase where it can actually be fun.

Phase 2: killers realize that survivors are actually focused on a side objective instead of doing gens, and tunneling, camping, and slugging are catching people off guard for easier wins.

Phase 3: survivors have figured out that the event is basically just getting them farmed and it's back to effectively playing the normal game with maybe a slight BP boost. There's a delay as people slowly figure out that they're in phase 2 and need to change tactics.

Generally, it takes about 3-5 days to go through all these phases when an event launches, unless the event hasn't really changed since the last iteration and then we just stay in phase 3 from the last time.

lol ty! My sleep-deprived brain felt inspired when you said survivors carried gens around and repaired them in chase :D

Also, I felt like it was fitting for Pig to be the center of that story since I Am Legend starred Will Smith, and Pig is played by Shawnee Smith... same last name and stuff :)

Day 1 Holding it Down for the Underground

It is true the rumors whispered about Pig. I went above ground to see what they now call the “Wasteland”. They still let you visit but there’s no resources there anymore. However, there tucked away in a decrepit chest in a relic glass from the past there was a note scribbled on the parchment it reads:

“ We opened Pandora’s box, and what was once just a stealthing Pig now gained a new ability, they say the traps weren’t enough, she needed something more and there in the dark Pig tinkered until she emerged with a new trap, one with wings. She now has the ability for aerial attacks to zone and trap us; as well as a dive bomb. It was too strong though and resources nuked.” -end note-

Out of need for adaptation we have fled to the underground. Now only guided by the odd light here and there to make our way through the tunnels stumbling in the dark. Jungle gyms we now have to carve for ourselves for any lines of defense, even then one swipe can bring the whole thing down. We feared the death from above, but nothing could have prepared us for the horrors that awaited below, thus 2 S tier killers with kit buffs emerged from their underground palace in a surprise rework a new Xeno and Demo was reborn.

I don’t think that is the correct use of the word “literally”

that's been a thing with the constant gen regression nerfs and the 8 kick limit having a hard limit to defending a gen makes it infinitely worse since it's an auto win for survivors if they just attack one gen but don't go down

I feel like the devs would read this and maybe see our evolving story as poetic since it probably reflects part of their development arc. Nerf, buff, nerf, buff...

Also, good choice for the killers! Demo and Xeno are both cuddly animals who I have booped :D

Yups, this is why I barely still touch killer these days, absolute misery afaiac. Know that I am a 2016 veteran, so I've lived through all of the bad periods of old ;) The silly part about this is that I DONT mind the losing, at all… What absolutely grinds my gears is that I have to sit in Q for soooo long, and then the match ends in like 5mins because swf team 6 doesnt like to have chases… Literally pre-running before I get anywhere near their gen, see the scratchmarks from the gen up into the horizon. Then feel silly for drykicking that gen, because you know someone else will rotate to that gen in about 10secs… That right there is the only thing driving me away from killer right now.

That’s such a sweet and nice thought, it is sorta poetic.

It was an easy follow up, you gave me a lot to work with. I had so much fun reading op and your bit. I hope others feel encouraged to add onto it, I personally want to see how unhinged it can get.

They did nerf the afk crows in the last patch. Here's the notes…

    AFK Crows

    • Increased the intervals at which AFK Crows are gained to 120/140/180 seconds (was 60/75/90 seconds).
    • Increased the Grace Period before AFK points start accruing to 30 seconds (was 10 seconds).
    • Decreased the rate at which AFK points accrue while moving to 25% (was 50%).
    • Decreased the rate at which AFK points accrue after Exit Gates are powered to 25% (NEW).
    • Reset AFK points upon completing interactions (previously removed 60 AFK points).

No, I know BHVR nerfed them from the buff they got, I read the patch notes. Survivors being micro-managed was a bad move, but the idle crows being slower than they were pre-buff isn't good either. Stealth and doing literally nothing seem to be more viable than they were before. So personally, given my own recent experience, I wouldn't agree that "Survivors can no longer stealth".

Thats why i struggle probably, i prefer not to tunnel. In the past 12 hooking someone was possible, now its a lot harder.

I feel like gen regression perks doesnt do anything against good survivours. If survivour gets god loop RNG then that part of the map is taken away. If i then patrol gens on the other side, i will probably get blocked by entity and they will force gens anyway.

I dont mind losing as well. You hit nail on the head with your comment

Now that players are actually focused on the objective and not throwing and wasting time we can reliably address Gen speed

  • terumisan
    terumisan Member Posts: 2,242

in the past it did since they were either strong enough when stacking or did hit and run with old sloppy and made survivors waste time so your gen regression can do something
