Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Stealth Killers Are Broken

There are too many perk combinations that completely ruin the balance when used on Stealthy killers. This is why so many survivors refuse to participate in matches, occasionally i get hard carried by someone who is really skilled at this game but nearly every match im in, i have to solo the gens, or run across the entire map to save someone off the hook. and this is only an issue with stealth kills like the shape or ghostface, and the worst of the bunch springtrap. they all make stealth far too easy, and have super easy downing mechanics. theyre broken. The Wraith and The Spirit are also stealth killers but theyre balanced, so it isnt like the DBD team doesnt know how to make stealth fair. but maybe thats just because those are original characters, maybe they choose to break IP characters they dont own. but it ruins the game. a majority of players are scaredy cats, and the mix of unbalanced killers and meta perk builds ruins the games fun factor. you end up with a bunch of tryhards all super amped up to mori

i don't get it, you want to nerf the only "horror" aspect of this game, just because u don't wanna look around while do the gens or something ?

and most stealth killers have a sound queue, either breathing, walking or something to give u a hint…

wait aren't like 90% Of the stealth killers m1 ?

my complaint is the effect they have on typical players, they make casuals, which i am one of, basically useless. i see you use the pig, the pig is balanced, i have no complaints about the pig being able to stealth. just as i have no complaints about the wraith, or the spirit. it is only the shape, ghostface, and springtrap that cause the issue im talking about.

im not particularly fond of the houndmaster or the deathslinger, but thats my skill issue that gives me trouble with those killers.

The Shape, Ghostface, and Springtrap, ruin cooperation. nearly every game with those kills, at least 2 members of the survivor team are useless and doing nothing.

if you had read what i wrote and didnt immediately bring your feelings into your response you would understand what im trying to communicate.

if youre interested in my skills, im bad at this game. im good at doing gens, taking protection hits, and healing others. im terrible at chases.

im more than willing to admit my own flaws, but my flaws arent why im complaining here on the forums, im complaining because nearly every match i get into that has a "shape", "ghostface", or "springtrap", my teammates are either useless or abandon the game. and thats my issue. thats why im complaining about those killers in particular

Had a Scratched Mirror Myers nearly give me a heart attack last week. I do wish the footsteps were a little louder on stealth killers. Of course that's just because my hearing sucks.

literally every stealth killer is super low on tierlists . Wraith abd springtrap are the best stealth killers and they sit on B tier. You are on pure copium from your personal negative experience.

The OP did admit to not being great in chase. It's possible they're in an MMR range where challenges are different than for a lot of players on the forums. I won't claim to have any other knowledge of the OP or talk more in any way about them, but I'd say that there are very different challenges between different MMR ranges.

A player that doesn't last long in chase might get destroyed by a Ghostface or Meyers because they're getting one-shot downs after a short chase. At higher MMR, the play is very different, where the lack of antiloop makes those killers much less effective. I think one thing that happens in the forums is that some players don't always keep in mind that different skill tiers can have very different challenges :/

The issue are your teammates, not the killer.

Of course you get folded when two of your teammates are playing immersed and you can't loop (no offense ofc, I'm not great either lol). Even Trapper can beat a team where half of the group does nothing.

I get what they're saying. I'm totally over stealth Killers at this point, too. They're scary when you first start playing but after a while, the free hit they get for sneaking up on you becomes an annoyance. If I never see another one for a long as I continue to play DBD, I'll be happy (except for Mirror Myers. I like seeing those guys).

But I'd be hypocrite if I didn't admit that they can be fun to play as. Grabbing Survivors off gens was one of my favourite things to do as Myers (sadly, the Survivors I get nowadays are way too aware for that).

Yesterday I got 2 Shapes, a Ghostie and a Springtrap. That was enough for me to go back into Survivor retirement again. I just can't anymore. Low MMR Killers, I'm begging you. Please play any other type of Killer so we can get a little bit of variety in our Survivor trials.

Stealth killers are fine. I generally find Nurse, Blight, and Ghoul as the top three most "broken" killers. Nurse creates a situation in which the survivors might as well not even be playing the game, as if the Nurse knows what they're doing, it's effectively a single-player game. Blight is flat-out overpowered on maps with massive dead zones and the size of a shoe box. Ghoul is poorly designed to give so much out of the first hit when it's effectively free. Probably the most unfun killer they've ever released. Even release Legion was more enjoyable to play against than Ghoul is currently.

for myers its breathing, ghost face its his robes, pig strangely enough is very stealthy, yet the most stealthly killer is not even a stealth killer, its the unkown, no footsteps, no breathing, if someone plays it as a stealth killer, then u will paranoid all the time

yet his statement sounds very broad when it only applies to himself . The title itself is wrong as kn average stealth killers have low killrates and strenght against an average team.

Its amazing that everyone is fixated on the killers and their placement in competitive play. Im casual, and yes, im not good at the game. But the purpose for my post, is the effect on game play. I know i type a lot and reading is hard, but read what i said before you go to defend your favorite killer, or accuse me of just being bad. I am bad. This is the 3rd time ive written a post about that. But personal reasons arent why im posting. Im posting because other people are also bad and these 3 killers in particular ruin the matches i get into. Its already hard to find a cooperative team, but one people figure out its one of these 3 killers, they basically rage quit. They stop helping. They refuse to unhook others. And they refuse to heal.

Top that off with perks that take advantage of their hesitation, and it makes the game survivor vs survivor. It becomes a waiting game for the hatch. And thats frustrating, for exactly the reason i know im bad at the game, im good at skill checks and almost nothing else. So as the only person every working on a gen, i get tunneled because everyone else is hiding or trying to earn favor with the killer by emoting at them. Its very frustrating and my block list is filling up fast.

Yeah im a trapper main killer because hes so easy to steamroll a team, but i try not to be a jerk as a killer. As for the looping thing, yeah ive accepted that im bad at it, ive practiced and tried to get better but im just bad, ive accepted that. My brother is the looper when we play together, i work on gens and do recon.

Yeah thats the point i was trying to make, everyone wants to call me bad. Which i am. But that isnt the focus of my post, the focus is the effect it jas on team play. People rage quit and refuse to be helpful, they just hide and wait until they can run to the hatch
