Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Each time you hook a Survivor, gain +1 Token:

For as long as the Obsession is alive, all Survivors suffer from a stack-able 1.5/2/2.5% per Token Action Speed penalty to Repairing, Healing, and Sabotaging, up to a maximum of 22/27.5/33 % or 11 Tokens.

The Obsession is also affected by this debuff, however only by 50% of the effect and instead granted a permanent +33 % Action Speed bonus to Unhooking and Healing other Survivors.

+ NEW EFFECT: While every survivor is alive, the effect of Dying Light is doubled. This effect disappears the moment somone dies by any means

If anything the obsession doesn't change all that much normally… so getting the 11 stacks wouldn't be realistic also by the time you get the 11 stacks most (if not all) of the Gens are done

This is kind of why incentives to not tunnel don't work, tbh.

You're basically just applying the effect to the obsession, and boosting the effect when everyone's alive. And there's a thought process where "hey, if you don't tunnel and spread hooks you get twice the value".

But he's the reality: this isn't more slowdown than tunneling is. Especially since you can very easily keep one in chase, one on hook, and one going for rescue when there are only 3 survivors. And no perk is better than "gen progress effectively stops entirely", especially when there are 2 or more gens left.

So if they did this, here's what would happen: Killers might use this perk, maybe. But it's fully compatible with tunneling. It actually makes tunneling even better.

Even if your first 3 hooks are the same person, and let's go with minimal value and say it's even the obsession that gets tunneled out, then you've gotten double slowdown until the survivor dies. So it buys you more time to tunnel early, and you still gain all of the benefits of having one less survivor out of the game early.

I would rather do something like this:

    Dying Light

You start the trial with 3 tokens.

Every time you hook someone other than the Obsession, the repair speed of all survivor is decreased by 3/4/5% for each token you have. This lasts until the survivor is unhooked and lingers for 30 seconds.

When you hook the Obsession, you lose a token.

If the Obsession dies, this perk deactivates.

The numbers are placeholders, they could be adjusted.

I thought of something more like this

As long as the obsession is alive, the obsession gains a 25% boost to healing and unhooking.

For each survivor you hook gain a token up to 5. For each token you get, survivors suffer a 3/4/5% penalty for repair, healing, sabotage.

the obsession will have there healing and unhooking speed reduced for each token by 3/4/5%.

If you hook the obsession you lose 1 token. If the obsession dies the perk will deactivate

33% repair speed reduction, doubled, would increase gen times from 90 seconds to 272. Healing another survivor would take almost 50 seconds.

It'd be ridiculously overtuned, making the game progressively more unplayable with every hook, but as Ampersand mentions, it'd still just be a boost to tunnelling.

Dying Light is only really a Plague/Legion perk as they don't really care that ur giving the obsession free Botany Knowledge.
