Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Map offerings are basically useless now

The whole point of map offerings was to go to a specific realm, whether you thought it gave you a benefit or you were just tired of getting the same five maps in rotation. Now you can use a map offering (with no one else using one or a sacrificial ward) and still end up on a totally different map. I've seen this happen multiple times. So if map offerings don't really work anymore, why have them in the game still? Why not just remove them?

They now have an increased chance to go to the realm, but it's not guaranteed.

A better compromise was try the Secret first and see if that had any effect like they did with Prestige.

Or make them common rarity, if they increase its chance to 40% then sure keep it at green rarity I don't mind

I agree. Now it feels like a waste of an offering. You at least had the reassurance before that your offering would work if no one used a contradicting offering. But now you may as well bring a point offering so you know you are getting some value

I think either 33% or 50% chance to go to the realm of your choosing would be significantly better to make it worth the green offering. Compared to every other type of map offering, map offerings have a high chance of failure for its rarity level.

I, however, dislike the idea of reducing their rarity to common and keeping the chances the same.

Good idea, only thing they did where to give you the maximum advantage anyways - of course there's also the people that just liked the maps, but I honestly don't care as long as I'm every second round on eyries, garden of joy, the game, badham or any other horrible map. Ether they balance the maps correctly for both sides or they let it mostly be random if you're lucky or unlucky - seeing that you'll have a horrible match even if you win because of a map offering is simply horrible xD

They should have just removed them. I think they were too scared of the backlash they would get. Map offerings serve no purpose other than Survivors sending killers to Survivor sided maps and Killers sending Survivors to Killer sided maps. They were super unhealthy for the game and should just be removed, maybe even refund BP for them or something imo.

There is no point in keeping useless features.

IMO, map offerings from survivors should just ban a map, while the killer can still boost a map in full.
