I want to understand the logic of lowering cake spawns
For what? What does this accomplish other than anger your playerbase for zero reason?
You've got pretty much your peak playercounts of all time, and you decide "yea this game needs less anniversary cakes".
Why? Why are you treating bloodpoints like it some sort of ration in the apocalypse?

Especially when they expected so many new players with the FNAF chapter who let’s be real are really going to need all the BP they can get with how much stuff there is to unlock.
Very strange choice.26 -
If we earn to much BPs we will play and buy less… i guess…
… i really don´t know. You need like 385 Million BP to level all up to level 3. I n s a n e.
15 -
I would assume (& only my personal assumption but i've been in business a long time I've seen these kind of decisions made at high corporate levels) their general idea is "people will want the same amount of cakes as last year, plus all the new fnaf players (who aren't gonna stick around btw) will want to level up fast & need more cakes too, lets give them less they'll play more!"
In reality most players will play less or roughly the same as most cakes are hoarded for years (I have them all the way back to 4th anniversary) I agree with the players will want more part, gamers usually do, especially in this game! It will annoy the core base that come here, but most of the player base won't really notice & they'll probably happily take 30 - 40 per prestige while us on here will finish the event with thousands even if its many less than last year.
4 -
It doesn't even make sense though. I would assume most people already have the perks that they actually want. A lot of the survivors / killers don't even have worthwhile perks to get all of them to P3.
Are they that insecure about their core gameplay that they have to rely on grinding bloodpoints to bring people back?
All this does is annoy the veteran players who are trying to go for P100 or actually P3 everyone just for the sake of doing it and on top of that push away new players who will inevitably think "wow this is grindy as all hell and there is WAY too much stuff to unlock".
9 -
I was thinking the same thing. Ppl tend to get more cakes than they can use in a year, then stock up all over again the next year.
4 -
Why would you need so many cakes?
-18 -
Probably something to do with all the new players.
More grind = more time played = more likely to buy stuff.
7 -
?
I don´t understand this question.
You need cakes… as much as you can get…
I am a bit jealous of these - i have 1814 cakes after the first day - but as a more normal player i will never get that.
But a few hundreds i got last year. Have to see how much i get this year but it will be less for sure :-(
0 -
Why do people act like bloodpoints are so hard to get? They literally hand them over to you just for playing
-21 -
You need at most enough cakes to use 1 per match for a year. For casual players that dont play a whole lot... 1000 total is more than enough. People keep getting more cakes than they can possibly use, and then they have leftovers by the time the NEXT anniversary rolls around.
-2 -
Because some people don't play as much due to, say, working full time. If you're not caught up and only play a few hours a day, the grind is still massive if you're diversifying (especially regarding consumables.) The perk grind has been substantially improved, but if you're trying to stock 1 survivor and 40 killers that amount of BP grows every new chapter.
The point of a bloodpoint offering for an event is that its basically a themed BPS to celebrate. Part of the reason events like the anniversary pull back players who are taking a break is because they can take advantage of everyone running
Bloody Party Streamersthe Confectionery Of The Year, so it kinda loses a lot of appeal if people aren't using the offering that was specifically designed and distributed to be used during the event. Its just a baffling thing to be stingy with when being stingy is directly counterintuitive to its usage as a celebratory/return/retention mechanic.
13 -
If you work full time then you shouldn't be trying to prioritize getting everything for every character (assuming you even own them all) I don't play much but I've got like 8 mill bp that I really have nothing to do with half the time
-15 -
The economy is completely broken, there are those who can afford to bring iridiscent addons in all their matches. But at the same time the grind for new players to get the basic perks is insane.
3 -
Realistically a person only needs enough cakes to last them til next year. If someone doesn't play much...sure, they won't earn as many cakes, but they also dont USE as many. As far as having cakes DURING the event, that shouldn't be a problem at all. I was playing for abit earlier getting upwards of 350k BPs per match, which obviously made it easy to replace the cakes used each match.

Currently after every game I level up a survivor (given up on p100 meg so none p100 survivors) I use 1 cake in game game ends escape or scarified I auto bloodweb anywhere between 10 & 20 levels (depends how far along the bloodweb is) & get 8 - 16 cakes on average I'm getting 8 cakes per 10 levels.
So 1 cake earns me a minimum 8 occasionally over 20! Even if we say as an outlier 6 cakes thats 5 more than I had every game, 100 games over the space of the entire event (roughly 5 games a day) leave you 500 cakes minimum!
Sure some people don't play 5 games a day, but, most players won't use 500 cakes in a year either! They might dyrung events but as someone who plays daily for 8 years I can say with a lot of experience players very very rarely use cakes outside of events & blood point boosts, go back see how many old cakes you have & see how many you really need beyond hoarding reasons!
New players naturally want the points but retention of new players in my experience is beyond dire most will quit long before they run out of cakes, or they'll realise nobody else uses them & hoard them too!
-1 -
Friends, I understand there is little logic in doing this, but… I played about 10 matches yesterday (200k bp per match on survivor), bulk spent the BP on one char and got about 100 cakes… why are we complaining here? You always get back more cakes than you use in offerings. Unless you are extremely unlucky in your solo lobbies not dropping cakes at the offering, in combination with you playing very poorly and thus getting low points…
-2 -
Fun detected.
Also the old and outdated "bloodpoint economy." Bloodpoints are the last carrot on a stick they have to retain players. Without it, they might actually have to balance their game and address the glaring issues plaguing current dbd.
10 -
How did you get so many pies on the first day? 🤣😅 I thought I had a lot lol
0 -
WAIT IS THAT A THING???? That explains it all!! Yesterday I spent 2.5M BP on cheryl (trying to get her to p100, currently at P82) and I thought it was a bug that I got only 2 cakes out of that...
1 -
that doesn't change the fact it's way less than before
I want to play basically every game with a cake during whole year, I am not going to play without a cake unless I need something specific for challenge.
Gather that many cakes for me is suddenly an issue, when I have time to play like 1-2 hours per day.
It may not be an issue for majority of players who will still be able to gather enough, but it simply doesn't make sense why do it in first place.0 -
If you want a cake every match for the rest of the year, that is perfectly possible. Just play a lot, farm bp. I am personally at over 1000 cakes alrdy… The games events do not run on your schedule.
-5 -
So you are just an entitled person, got it
sure, I am used to a standard they set in earlier years and I want to know why they changed it now, because it annoys me.
Just play a lot, farm bp.
Oh right, I need to spend around 35k for 1 cake (prestige 100). I would need like 1000 total for it to be barely enough, which would be like 175 games (200k per game)
For me that's quite a lot of games, I am not going to take a vacation from my work just to play DBD. I didn't need it in earlier years, I am not going to do it now.I may be entitled to standard they set before, but I would say you just want to gate keep players.
There is no such a thing as too many cakes imo.5 -
I always assumed it was for grind reasons so people will play the game more.
2 -
so people will play the game more.
I usually play DbD mostly during events… but not this one. Very few cakes are burnt in my matches, so even when I do great in a match and get party totems and pop lots of gens and escape, I still walk away with maybe 150k BP at most. I'm only going to do the quest challenges and otherwise, I'm not playing DbD right now. And if I'm not playing my friend isn't playing, either.
Every other year I played the hell out of the anniversary event. This decision of theirs has me playing practically not at all. I know it doesn't mean anything to BHVR—with the event going on and all the new players, I doubt my friend and I will be missed in survivor queue—but I still feel I should point out that their decision is having the opposite effect on at least some of their players.
1 -
I don't know why, but if anything I'm playing less often because of it. I can't farm cakes on my P100 Legion because I'm only getting 1 cake per blood web. Since they've always been my number 1 BP earner, this is such a disappointment for me.
I bet that whatever the event will be next year, the BP offering for it will be a personal one. Seems BHVR want to keep the ability to earn BP artificially low for some reason. Maybe they're worried that if it becomes too easy to P100, it will begin to break down the balance of the game.
1 -
Not that I am a big white knighting for BHVR kind of person… but you get about 24 - 26 per prestige at present from my own matches so far where I have actually paid attention.
I am accumulating cakes far faster than I am using them, with each match being at least 150 - 200k or much more BP. I don't think there is much to complain about, I have more on multiple survivors than I'd say I can ever use during this event
-6 -
My point was more that people who do not play often, but come back for events knowing that there will be multiple BP offerings, are not drawn back to the game for events if said offerings aren't getting used. Anniversaries were usually great for it, you'd hardly load a match with less than at least 3. They used to be giving them out like candy since literally all they do is help alleviate grind, and its a dopamine inducing way of thanking the community for continuing to live.
4 -
Im confused... im still getting LOTS of cakes being played when I hop on. It's generally been between 3 to 5 cakes each match for me.
-5 -
I've been getting more matches of 1-2 than in years past, and based on the topic and its upvotes I was under the assumption that was more common for others as well. Maybe I've just been unlucky? The rest still stands.
1 -
I just dont understand ppls obsession with mass hoarding these things. The idea of people being pissed because they ONLY got 2000 cakes to last them a year is nuts... especially when they say they dont play often. I looked through my different killers last night, and I still have hundreds of unused cakes from previous years going all the way back to the 3rd year anniversary.
They DID have an issue with the level 50 bloodweb that was effecting P100 people, but they worked on that QUICK.
-6 -
I doubt they BP offering next year will be any different. They've been pretty consistent with making the offering 10x where x=the anniversary year. It's just the event itself thats changing. The BP offering thing is plenty older than the event.
-1 -
If you play a lot you'll burn through the cakes pretty fast, though. I like to hoard enough that it gets me through the year (using them in most/all matches). I'll retain one of each (to scratch the collector's itch), then stock up at the next anniversary, then rinse and repeat). I just want enough to get me to next anniversary.
But I don't play an insane amount, and the spawn rate this year is probably going to leave me short.
Also, I think players have a stockpile of cakes also helps with the map offering issue, as people seem burn cakes over other stuff if they have them to burn.
1 -
Thats the thing though... players who play alot will naturally ALSO be earning alot of cakes. Players who DONT play alot won't earn as many...but they dont need as many either. As long as they're providing enough to last players for the year... it shouldn't be an issue. This is a giant nothingburger of a complaint at this point.

If maxing 40k BP per match, you reach 1mil after 25 matches, and 5mil after 125 matches. Each match taking an average of 10 minutes is equal to 20.83 hours of playtime just to Prestige up a character 4.8 times. This is the standard grind of the game, so if played for 4 hrs a day, it would take you 5 days just to reach the max BP and dump it into a character you want to prestige. However by bringing in 100%+ BP offerings, you can cut the grind in Half, Making the it only take 2.5 days, or 10.4 hrs, Drastically reducing the overall stress.
100% BP offerings like BPS and Pudding/ECake's show up in Bloodwebs an average of 1 every 5-10 levels, giving you about 5 BPS, or 10 puddings/ECakes every 50 levels, or for every 800k-1,050,000 BP.
The anniversary event Provides on average +/- 1 Scream Pie/anniversary cake per level, favoring giving the cake 80% of the time per web/level, especially if using bulk spending. Each one providing 109% BP gains, at a cost that is lower in BP and at a frequency that is far better than you could ever get with the Standard 100% BP offerings.
if you want to reduce the grind, you need 100% BP offerings. The standard offerings show up too infrequently in Bloodwebs to be relied upon, whereas the Anniversary Event Guarantees that, if you grind a little for them, you can ensure you'll have enough to last you for every match you play following the event; Allowing you to reach your prestige goals in half the time, and significantly reduce the stress of the standard grind of the game.
I know a seasoned player like yourself may not understand this, what with years of experience, thousands of hours, multiple P100 characters, and massive stockpiles of add-ons/items/offerings in your inventory, but to a mere casual player who doesn't play more that a couple of hours a week, or any new players who've come to the daunting realization of the sheer magnitude of the cliff they're expected to climb in order to unlock all the perks, and prestige their characters… The Anniversary Cakes are a Godsend!
In previous years, stockpiling them was much easier to achieve, so hopefully you understand now why people are so "pissed" that it's become a grind to accomplish this time around. Especially with all the new players who just joined up with the FNAF chapter.
TL;DR:
BloodPoints = Time. Anything that guarantees 2x the BP for the Time you put in is something worth investing time into stockpiling isn't it? Especially for new or Casual players.
side note:
By saying "I just don't understand ppls obsession with mass hoarding these things." You might as well have quoted Marie Antoinette's "let them eat cake." a quote used to illustrate the perceived indifference of the wealthy and powerful to the plight of the poor. I find it hard to believe that you've achieved so much over the years that you can't even remember how difficult the grind was for you. Are you really so callously out of touch, or just trolling?
3 -
I am happy for you if you are able to gather enough cakes you want, but that doesn't change the fact we get way less cakes than we used to and prestige 100 is basically getting punished for commiting to a character in this event.
Main thing is still why the hell they limited main point of anniversary. I couldn't care less about event, I am here for cakes and I get less of them now for some definetly not smart reason, which annoys me.
At this point it doesn't seem I will manage to gather enough cakes to last until next anniversary. What's even more annoying, because how slowly I get them, I am forced to spend all BP on my p100 main to gather cakes there instead of trying to prestige other characters.1 -
I got Sable to P3 with the anniversary and ended up with 63 cakes. It's a problem because RNG has been really bad for alot of us.
1 -
I thought I explained myself pretty clearly... I guess not. Im NOT saying the cakes aren't useful. I completely understand ppl wanting cakes...im not stupid. I DONT understand ppl wanting more cakes than they'll ever use. If someone is a casual player with a full time job that is only going to play a game or 2 a night... they obviously dont need 2000 cakes. It wouldn't surprise me at all if BHVR noticed that ppl were earning way more cakes than they could use and lowered it down so people wouldn't have a huge stockpile still when next years cakes are released.

If you only got 3 prestiges out of the event so far, that's not a matter of getting too few cakes. You just play very little… I get multiple millions of BP just from one play session…
Just for my own curiousity, of the top of my head with some quick math, 3 prestiges would mean you only played… about 20 matches so far? And I'm being generous here, cause 20 matches means you didn't even have to play well to achieve that amount of BP…
0 -
That wasn't the only place I've put BP. I picked Sable as my example because that's where I put the most points.
0 -
Not me. Someone here on the forum posted this on the second day.
Ok, he had BP saved to spent on start. But anyway - over 1000 on the first day is wild.
I know they won´t do it but they really should consider rising the general BP earning for mormal matches.
0 -
P 100’s should get more pies than they’re getting. In my opinion.
0 -
it's very annoying we don't even get random event box…
0 -
I don't understand your obsession to argue against people here. And as if that's not enough, you keep coming back, to argue again.
It's cake. Did a cake hurt you recently?
