Surivor's shouldn't be able to see ML or HW get activated
Either that, or let killer see when a gen has Blastmine on it. Why are survivors able to tell when something was put on a gen but not the killer? Blastmine legit puts a flashbang with some smoke coming out of it on top of the gen, but only the survivors get to see it. Why? It's right f###### there! Just let us ALL see it!
Meanwhile Machine Learning and Help Wanted have that "Special" effect that twirls around the gen when it's kicked, telling the survivor "Hey, be careful finishing this, don't want you poor innocent wittle angels to have a hard time."
EDIT: Since it's clearly needed I'll clarify, I'm saying that BOTH Survivors AND Killers should be able to see the Blastmine on top of the gen, NOT JUST THE SURVIVOR!!!!! Why am I even surprised with this community.
Edit 2: All the downvotes are the people who have never touched killer in their life, and thus can't say anything in the comments because they don't know anything about the subject. All they can do is downvote to say "Oh someting dat's against the side I pway? Dat make Me angy"

same with that extremely ######### perk that breaks pallets if they vault them after you hit them... It's already an awful perk, and it tells the survivor that you have it so they can not vault anything... It's absolute trash

Yeah, it's even got a short delay before it even activates and is able to break the pallet, why does it need to warn then??
-8 -
Blastmine puts a tiny flashbang on top of the gen. You can see it if you look closely.
-2 -
This is only for survivors, killers cannot see it.
11 -
Too bad, I didn't even know that.
I'm trying to think of a reason why it should be one sided but… there's none.

And just like that, Faulty Floorboards continues to be one of the most slept on perks in the game.
While you may not get direct value of getting a pallet break, it still makes some one have to play a tile differently which would otherwise be completely safe. Shaquille or jungle gyms for example which are known to be some of the safest loops in the game now have to be played around differently just because of this perk. Pair it up with Bamboozle or with a killer with good zoning or area denial and you got yourself a good time

Question: does the kick effect from those perks stay on the gen?
As killer you used to be able to see the action of someone putting something on a gen (admittedly don't know if that's true ATM, haven't seen it lately) so if the effect doesn't stay then it's effectively equal.

Fairly positive its just that little smoke effect on the initial kick
so yea, its equal

Yeah you can see people use stuff like Blastmine, along with Pop (Big ahh explosion), and Machine Learning / Help Wanted (Red explosion). The problem comes down to not seeing the Blastmine once it's in place. Survivors can see it on top of the gen, like it's an actual model up there, but it's only for the survivors to see for some dumb reason

Wild how underrated Dissolution continues to be.

You don't see anything on the killer side, you can see them put it on the gen but that's it

just like how you can only see the lil smoke effect for gen compromising
-1 -
That's the thing tho bud, It's animation finishes and then there's nothing different visually because the smoke goes away. The killer sees the same thing as the survivor in this instance. Yet when a survivor puts BM on a gen, they get an animation AND another model put on TOP of the generator, a model that ONLY survivors can see. How the hell does that make sense. We gonna make it so Chemical trap is only visible to survivors now? Because we need some form of consistency between what both sides can and can't see.
0 -
So does it affect the actual gameplay in a meaningful way?
Also why do we need consistency?
0 -
"Why do we need consistency." Bro, are you actually serious??? "New update, Devour Hope totem now looks like a normal totem, but only for survivors." "Survivors can no longer see the entity blocking windows affected by Crowd Control, only the killer can". "Circle of Healing now looks like a normal totem, but only for the killer" Do you not see how stuff like this CAN become an issue? Please for the love of god actually try, go to the dollar store, get some CLR and oil and clean off the gears in your brain so it works at it's fullest for once.
If there is a PHYSICAL object or thing present, BOTH sides should be able to see it, because that's how vision works. It'd be like you and I standing next to each other and I ask you "Hey, you see that paycheck there on the table in front of us?" and your only response is "What paycheck?"

If blast mine had a clear obvious tell it'd be one of the most useless perks in the game, just look at mirrored illusion?
I think being stunned for short period of time is barely a problem, you can still kick the gen afterward. Not once when playing killer have I thought OMG SO OP PLZ NERF. If you hate the perk run Surge, Pain Res, ruin among others, plenty of answers.
It's not making you lose games.0 -
dissolution vecna when combined with buffed fly is genuinely terrifying and im so glad people sleep on that perk because once a pallet gets dropped its ggs for the loop
1 -
Never even thought about it on Vecna.. gonna have to try it out!

Assuming for us yes?
Some of those sound interesting to us. Would force survivors to break totems on the off chance its a hex, killers would always need to listen for the boon (probably not good for hearing impaired, but still interesting). Meanwhile some of those actually heavily impact gameplay unlike seeing the blast mine. Though if there was only an icon alert for it we'd be game. But ya know, by all means keep insulting us, it'll get you far.
Both sides are not equal in this game. There are 4 puny rabbits vs 1 big bad wolf. Both sides do not need a 1 for 1 thing, it matters on the impact they have. A stun is annoying, a blocked wall is lethal. Only one survivor sees hubris trigger exposed at a time, all survivors see devour trigger exposed at once. Everyone, killer included, sees the results.-1 -
Killers already have an insane amount of information they're given even without perks - They get to see which Survivors they're facing and what items they're bringing so they can plan around that, they get to see every generator on the map, they get to see the hatch offering, etc. With perks, Killers have more aura reading perks than Survivors do, with some pairings making it possible to see where everyone is basically all game.
Survivors don't have stuff like that. Yes, Survivors get aura reading perks, but they're, for the most part, not really worth bringing in. Additionally, Survivors don't get to know who they're facing, they don't get to know where generators are, and since the Killer gets to see the hatch offering, the last Survivor has to hope they're closer to where it's meant to spawn than the Killer.
What does that have to do with blastmine and ML and HW? Simple - the amount of information both sides get justifies why Killers can't see blastmine while Survivors can see ML and HW. Additionally, as I'm sure this argument would need more evidence to justify it - Killers don't need to kick generators to win, but Survivors do need to finish generators. It sounds simple, but that's the reality. For a Survivor, it doesn't matter if a generator has ML or HW applied to it, they have to either do that generator or risk getting caught by the Killer while finding a new generator to do. However, the Killer doesn't have to kick the generator - in fact, there are even perks that Killers have access to that makes Blastmine pointless (Ruin, Lightborn, etc.). There's nothing similar for Survivors.
And, to address your second edit - You're getting disliked because you're being toxic about a non-issue. And no, I'm not a Survivor main, I play both sides. I do play more Survivor, but it's not by much.

Because you're misunderstanding the perk's purpose. The point is to be a zoning tool, not "a wireless pallet break". And it fulfills the role of "zoning tool" decently well.
Because in addition to "this isn't a wireless pallet break" perk, the way it's worded is on any injury.
So, a survivor can step in a trap across the map, nowhere near the killer, and trigger the perk. But then the survivor in chase would be the one affected by the pallet break debuff. Or the person lurking for a flashlight save or a teamwork perk.
Same thing can happen with any health state loss where the killer doesn't have to be present, which isn't a ton, but they definitely exist. That would be nearly impossible to distinguish between a bug or hacks at that point.
This is identical and consistent across every player debuff in the game. No one ever says that something like boil over shouldn't notify the killer it's in play, even though clearly the perk would do a lot more if they removed that feature. (Coincidentally, this also forces changed behavior)
Dissolution already changes the players behavior and makes the pallet useless without breaking it, mainly because of the debuff notification.
-1 -
nah, it's so bad that I on purpose drop pallets and fast vault them when I see the killer has it so the killer doesnt feel so bad about it
-1 -
Admitting to griefing other Survivors is definitely a take.
-2 -
itit's very rare, but I've had teams purposefully avoid triggering ML entirely. like bro, come on. I'm trying to use different perks here.
id prefer ML to just work like blast mine though and be invisible, I'd rather these perks be secret gotchas than be things to be avoided.
