Why is every killer perk getting nerfed first pentimento now franklins??
Are you serious right now??? Franklins didn’t need to be touched at all no one asked for this. The point of the perk was to counter people with flashlights and toolboxes plus medkits and it drains their item. Now the perk is useless because now survivors can pick up their item and no charges has been reduced.

To be fair it‘s both sides. While I‘m not a fan of franklins this nerf is a bit harsh

Do you actually care about Franklins being nerfed or do you only care because it is a Killer Perk?
Serious question, I dont see that Franklins Demise is popular at all.

Killers aren't allowed good perks or a good variety of perks i guess.
More pain res, grim, dms for all wooooo
-10 -
Let's not pretend Franklin's was a good perk.
16 -
Well, it certainly wasn't a bad one.
6 -
Where are the patch notes? I don't want to have to join the DBD discord to read them
2 -
It wasnt bad either. It was at least something else except gen regression perks.
22 -
It did a niche job, but it wasn't a good perk from either side.
It was a troll perk, but I would've liked to see it be turned into something actually useful.
-6 -
It was a bad Perk. It basically had two use cases:
- being annoying during Anniversary Events
- being paired with Weave Attunement
Otherwise you did not really see Franklins Demise, since there are Perks which are way better. And if there were too many Items, most Killers just dodged the Lobby anyway.
-8 -
People weren't taking Franklin's unless they saw items or wanted to troll.
-1 -
It's probably due to the new item recharging over time and how old Franklin's worked.
3 -
I can’t find them either I don’t get where everyone has gotten this info from lol. Are these leaks or something?
-1 -
They went over some things on a discord stream a little bit ago, not sure why they only do lives on there now instead of Twitch and YouTube like they used to. The stream never works for me but I watched a streamer on Twitch watching it lol

They did a Discord stream half an hour ago

I see, thanks for letting me know!

Franklins is the only reliable counter to 4 medkits. Completely gutting it during a healing meta is extremely tone deaf
1 -
If it's not a good perk, why is it being gutted? Franklins is extremely good against the right teams and right survivors, especially right now with 4 event med kits every game.
7 -
Scott Jund just got done telling us in a video that the emerging healing meta isn't that bad because you can just bring franklins. And yet here we are.
13 -
probably the same reason that self-care got butchered.
The void told them to.
-3 -
Were people really coming back around to seek out and pick their items back up? I've only ever once thought to even bother trying that and it was on Haddenfield where I could at least somewhat remember where I was previously downed, ended up needing a self heal, and still couldn't find the stupid med kit I dropped. I didn't even realize it reduces charges.
0 -
That was usually the smart thing to do since it's risky because the killer knows you'd want to get it back quickly. Now people can just come back for it later when it's needed since it never loses charges now
2 -
I guess my thinking is that it doesn't really matter whether it reduces charges or not since even not realizing it did that I still never really bothered trying to recover items.
2 -
To be fair, Franklin's was barely even used to begin with. It was just annoying.
5 -
That perk can burn for all I care. It was incredibly obnoxious to face.
0 -
knock out and franklins reworked in the same year? this feels like a dream.
2 -
Yes I care, it's the only counterplay to strong survivor items.
8 -
With Franklin's reverted and Keys functional again, we're back to the days where no Killer rulebook existed and yet bringing items meant you'd be promptly tunneled out lmao
1 -
I'm a regular Franklins enjoyer and don't think it's that bad. The perk to me always had value because it made the survivor drop the item and have to waste time going back to get it, if they get around to it at all. I think we're over-exaggerating the impact this will have on the perk. It changes pretty much nothing about the way I use it, at least; making the survivor drop the item is the satisfying aspect of it.
Although I do think it's really lame if the prevailing theory that they only nerfed Franklins because they couldn't figure out how to make it work with smokebob and the new item changes is true
What kind of new secondary effect could it get, though? Hinder on item pickup for X seconds?
Maybe if you make a survivor drop an item, that item becomes marked, and the survivor becomes deafend/blind or oblivious but only when using it. Probably not super noticeable but it might be cool
3 -
Effiency penalty or Franklin'd items go down in rarity if not picked up in 60s.
I don't get why they couldn't just change it to "items will lose 1 charge every 60/50/40s"
0 -
Which makes me very mad because the same logic was used with Streetwise, and guess what?
It absolutely SUCKS.

Franklin's has always been my go to perk for killers that use M1 attacks as it is the sole counter to medkits. This is genuinely one of the strongest perks in the game currently for killer due to just how oppressive medkits are. You get more value in denying heals than any possible gen slowdown in the game, easily, from a single strong medkit being consumed.
2 -
Since they're changing the way item charges work they likely don't want Franklin's depleting charges anymore.
1 -
- I'm all for nerfing Franklin. If you think about it, items are the survivors' equivalent of killer power and addons. Items cost blood points, they're not free, they require planning and strategy... some builds and perks even revolve around items. It's like if survivors had a perk that prevented killers from using their M2 against them, that would be just plain unfair
-1 -
They added in item RNG, tied it to chests and slapped another aura reveal effect to it.
Maybe should've included "chest item is guaranteed to be a copy of last depleted item"
0 -
They are not supposed to be 'equivalent' because it's a skewed 4v1 game. The survivors 'power' is to run loops and do generators. Items are bonuses, they're limited for a reason.
10 -
Addendum post; i'm surprised they aren't nerfing the 'meta' killer perks right now. I feel like the only reason they aren't touching quadruple slowdown is because they might be trying to cook up some big rehash on gen speeds and trying to neutralize them or something.
-2 -
Its probably one perk that counters meta medkits and other stuf like sabo toolboxes, flashlights with this change thats in ptb this perk isnt useable anymore, most killers wo can run him are killers focusing on m1 attacks like spirit, ghoul, wraith, trapper killers with solid m2 dont need this perk at all (its not worth running on them).
1 -
Items are just bonuses for survivor, problem is some items like medkits (espicialy medkits) are realy very strong with addons like stytic and anti-haemorrhagic, yes they are one time use but their impact on the game is huge especialy against b-tier and lower killers (most m1 killers) and thoose weaker killers most of them were good franklins users. So now medkits arent prblem for someone like nurse, blight, singularity but as for example wraith now has no counter for full medkit team which sucks and makes counterplay to strong items for weaker killers even smaller and the gab between weaker ones and stronger ones is getting bigger and bigger ( like opening scissors) which isnt good for the game in my opinion. Same as clown nerf I know he isnt that fun to loop but he is weak killer with no mobility so what he has to have for lacking that mobilibty to catch up? Strong chase power but now his chase power is worse and he will be top 5 bottom killer in the game which isnt good either.
5 -
Guess ScottJund needs to make a new video on how to counter the totally no big deal healing meta. He said just run Franklin's ez pz. It also works exactly 1 time against SWF even after this nerf. I'd love to express how glad I am I started maining survivor. You aren't messing with my giga Medkit
2 -
We have a lot of good perks....what....
-1 -
If it wasn't good before, imagine now.
In the line of the devs, they want to promote something (the use of the new items) and in the process they change things without sense.
3 -
survivors get buffs and killers get nerfed
0 -
survivors are really strong without add-ons and bringing items makes them stronger
the actual way to equate this is a b - s tier killer bringing their strongest add-ons
-4 -
All I want is the old effect back. I don't care it doesn't work with Maps, Keys or Vials.
They can keep the chest effect, it's kinda nice.
And they can axe the aura read the slapped on this thing.
1 -
And yet the killer rates have been moved up to 60%. Why are we pretending this game is hard for killers right now? Do you want them to force 100% kill rate?
As for Franklin's, isn't this exactly how the perk worked at the start? Maybe I am remembering it wrong but I think the item losing charges came in a few years after Leatherface came out?
Medkits and healing got nerfed a year or so ago. Why are we still crying about every item a survivor has available?
0 -
Did you ignore the entire list of perk buffs killers are also receiving? Let’s get real here.
4 -
i mean patch 6.1 took away all the best survivor perks. i will continue holding a grudge against BHVR until they restore spine chill to its former glory
3 -
Yes they clearly are on an anti killer path right now even nerfing weaker killers for no reason. Only Pig got some deserved love but is still going to be very weak when survivors is also overall buffed.
Franklins are only good on Hag now where you can trap the item and have survivors wasting time going back for the item again and again. When it regressed they did not bother going back more than once but now they probably will.
1 -
Wait, if they are adding a recharging new item doesn't that make them have to change how Franklin's works?
